”Me?” Zhou Yun widened his eyes in surprise, ”No way, don’t trick me.”

”Seriously,” Song Chi said, ”you exceeded my expectations, I really didn’t think you could act so well.”

Zhou Yun shook his head, saying, ”I know how well I performed, I NG’d so many times, how could it be that good.”

”Who cares how many times you NG, in the end, everyone only watches the performance that’s broadcasted. If you put in the effort and do well in the next few important scenes, there really is hope.”

”Stop, stop, stop, don’t big up my hopes if it’s not true,” Zhou Yun made a stopping gesture with his hand, ”I am most afraid of these things. Having hope will make me think about it, and not getting it will result in great disappointment. I don’t want to have such expectations.”

Song Chi: ”I thought telling you this would ignite your determination to strive harder.”

”No need for this, I’m already trying very hard, I’ve put in a hundred percent effort,” Zhou Yun said, ”The company has been trying to get me to take on some business work, asking for leave in the middle, but Sister Lan and I have both turned it down, just not wanting to delay filming.”

”I know, of course I know, I mean, Zhou Yun, you should take the initiative a bit more, don’t always wait for Director Kang to tell you before you adjust. Haven’t you noticed? You’ve become accustomed to acting a scene or two and waiting for Director Kang’s feedback before you get serious and fully invest yourself,” Song Chi said, ”Now you’ve met Director Kang, whom you can completely trust, but not every director is Director Kang. In fact, the vast majority of directors won’t guide you in acting as meticulously as him. Think about ’Eighth Heartbeat’ before. Imagine if you weren’t conscientious, what would the end result be?”

His words hit the mark.

Zhou Yun suddenly snapped to his senses.

Kang Xin returned.

He sighed as soon as he sat down, lamenting, ”There’s never a moment to rest.”

Song Chi smiled and said, ”Director Kang, please have a couple more bites.”

”Just now, Su Yan’s agent contacted me, saying she wants to meet for tea tonight. Where do I have time to have tea with her right now, what does she think we’re doing?” Kang Xin said with dissatisfaction.

Song Chi said, ”It’s probably about Su Yan’s issues.”

”That’s why I don’t want to deal with her because I know she wants to talk about Su Yan,” Kang Xin seemed very unhappy with He Ting.

Regarding Su Yan’s issues, Kang Xin hadn’t even met with He Ting face-to-face, and Zhou Yun didn’t know why Kang Xin was so unhappy with He Ting.

Song Chi laughed, asking, ”What, still trying to change the script on their side?”

”Not just thinking about changing the script, they’ve already revised it and sent it to my room, just waiting for my nod,” Kang Xin snorted coldly, ”Not focusing on acting properly, but daydreaming about adding scenes.”

”Everyone wants to play more parts in your projects, don’t be too upset,” Song Chi served Kang Xin some food with chopsticks.

Zhou Yun listened from the side and understood that Kang Xin’s dissatisfaction with He Ting stemmed from her persistent attempts to add scenes for Su Yan.

Zhou Yun thought, no wonder Kang Xin was so unhappy.

During their acting, if the script’s lines were changed, Kang Xin would get angry, let alone adding scenes.

Kang Xin took the integrity of the script very seriously. Adding a section was like giving someone extra organs, it was incongruous.

”I’m not angry, just annoyed by the incessant phone calls and people coming up to me to talk about this matter. Between the lines, they always hint at me giving Su Yan special attention, I’m sick of listening to it,” Kang Xin complained, no longer as silent as usual, muttering incessantly, almost to the point of lighting a cigarette, ”Zhou Yun is good, never bothers me with this kind of hassle.”

Suddenly being mentioned, Zhou Yun found it hard to say anything, he just smiled and said, ”I’m not even sure about the parts I’m doing now, feeling rather apprehensive; adding scenes, I wouldn’t even know how to act.”

”Look at this, the man is still modest,” Kang Xin praised.

”Who is Director Kang calling modest?” Jiang Yuzhen, who was due to shoot a night scene, suddenly appeared.

She was dressed in long pants and a short-sleeved shirt, hair tied back in a ponytail, simple and unadorned.

Kang Xin looked up, saw Jiang Yuzhen, and smiled, saying, ”You’re here, I thought you wouldn’t arrive until sundown.”

”Director Kang, I’ve followed you for many films, when have you seen me be late?” Jiang Yuzhen pulled over a stool and sat down, ”It’s been tough recently, right? Tired? Do you want me to have my masseuse give you a rub?”

Kang Xin asked in surprise, ”You have a masseuse with you? Is your back pain still not better?”
