Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun. She leaned in, curious, and asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”We met for the first time today, did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her,” Su Yan said. ”But I was quite startled when I saw the trending search this morning.”

Zhou Yun said innocently, ”The paparazzi are making up stories.”

”I remember you’re currently working on a film with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing challenged Su Yan, ”You should know very well, whether or not Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered before she laughed and said, ”Even though I’m working on the same set, how would I know anything about that kind of stuff?”

At first glance, there seemed to be nothing amiss with her statement, but in reality, it was still quite vague. Lew Qingqing’s previous remark was intended to prompt Su Yan to act as a witness to clear up the rumor. However, Su Yan only skirted around the issue, giving the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were dating, it would be none of her business.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to stress again, ”I don’t know Mr. Song Chi at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Relax, the fans are all very smart these days, they won’t let the paparazzi lead them by the nose. Don’t worry.”

Zhou Yun showed Lew Qingqing a grateful smile.

Beside them, Su Yan took out her sunglasses and put them on.

Seeing this, Chen Quanying, who was in the middle of a conversation with someone else, openly asked, ”Su Yan, why are you wearing sunglasses after the sun has set? Trying to look cool?”

With one remark, Su Yan almost blew her cover.

Zhou Yun keenly noticed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

Having heard that Chen Quanying was outspoken, there were plenty of rumors about her in the industry confronting others. Today, Zhou Yun saw it for herself... quite unique indeed. At least, in her time in the industry, Zhou Yun had never seen anyone as forthright in exposing someone else.

Unless, of course, it was between Lew Qingqing and Su Yan who had a conflict of their own.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouting, and said aggrieved, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m just tired, wanted to get some sleep in the car.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to confront Chen Quanying head-on.

Lew Qingqing did not miss this chance to kick her arch-enemy while she was down, ”Then let’s switch seats. I’ve been wanting to chat with Sister Ying. I’ve always loved her songs since I was at school and even went to her concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot over instantly.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing, delighted, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yes, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” said Lew Qingqing, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concerts,” Chen Quanying turned to Su Yan and said, ”You wanted to sleep, right? Since Lew Qing wants to switch with you, go on and switch.”

Su Yan looked a bit embarrassed, as if she was caught on the spot.

She knew she was being sent away.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but she had no choice but to grit her teeth and switch seats with Lew Qingqing.

With the camera still rolling, Zhou Yun cracked a smile and called out to Sister Yanyan.

Su Yan just nodded with a stiff expression and put her sunglasses back on, whether she actually fell asleep was uncertain.

Now Zhou Yun pulled out her phone, tilted her body slightly so that Su Yan wouldn’t see her phone screen, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see what happened this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? It must’ve been accidental, right?

Zhou Yun: No, it was on purpose, because I didn’t stand with her in solidarity against the common foe; instead, I was getting close to Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: So there’s really bad blood between those two?

Zhou Yun: They openly fell out when changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: For now, don’t act out, finish recording the show and then we’ll talk. Don’t forget how you’re supposed to appear on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to request a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this matter to me, rest assured.

Having explained everything clearly, Zhou Yun heaved a sigh of relief, and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice cold: ”Is there something you want?”

Indeed, not asleep.

Zhou Yun’s face was full of confusion, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s the matter?”

Su Yan let out a scoff, didn’t say anything, and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, turned his head, and looked out the window, the smile in his eyes finally fading.

Arriving at the place for dinner, everyone took their seats at a large table, and the director and photographers were also ready to go. There was a crowd standing in the empty space in front of the dining table, but only the artists were visible in the frame.

Su Yan had an expression as if she were tantalized by hunger, saying, ”I’m so hungry; I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really hungry, Director, there’s no task, right? Can we just eat dinner?”

The two girls looked at the camera eagerly and pleadingly.

Beautiful girls always have a way of melting hearts when they make that kind of face.

But how could a director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there is a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both sighed at the same time, but didn’t argue.

The several men behind them also started complaining.

”Director, where’s the love? Where’s your love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I declare this is my last season.”

”This is too much!”

...

It was all an act, all for show, all for the camera effects.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the protagonist; she just had to smile helplessly.

Smile prettily, be a beautiful vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing called out after taking her seat, ”Come here.”

Zhou Yun went to sit down.

”Lew Qingqing, did you do that on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said that I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was stunned, looking at Zhang Haichen at a loss.

Lew Qingqing smiled triumphantly, saying, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun looked dazed.

Zhang Haichen heaved a sigh and faced the camera with a gloomy expression.

Zhou Yun realized, it was again for the variety show effect.

She hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm with a giggly smile.

Su Yan wasn’t looking too good after witnessing this scene, and even had a hint of disgust in her eyes when she looked at Zhou Yun.

Of course, this disgust avoided the cameras.

Zhou Yun originally didn’t want to get involved in the dispute between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had sparked anger in Zhou Yun.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera was an act, at least she hadn’t done that to her.

Zhou Yun was happy to go along with Sister Qingqing’s sisterly affection, to the annoyance of Su Yan.

In the following shoot, Zhou Yun was even more enthusiastic with Lew Qingqing, winding arms frequently or hugging her.

They were affectionate like childhood besties who grew up together.
