Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 572: Chapter 435: Friendly Cooperation

Anti-theft: Replace before midnight.

Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, leaning in with a curious face, she asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”We met for the first time today, did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting her,” Su Yan replied, ”But I was still shocked when I saw the trending search this morning.”

Zhou Yun said with an innocent face, ”It’s all nonsense made up by the paparazzi.”

”I remember you’re shooting a movie with Song Chi, right?” Lew Qingqing questioned Su Yan back, ”You should know best, whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Hearing this, Su Yan’s eyes flickered for a moment, she laughed twice and said, ”Although I’m filming in the same crew with him, how would I know about such things.”

This statement, though sounding problem-free on the surface, was actually still ambiguous. Lew Qingqing had thrown out that line intending for Su Yan to act as a witness to clear up the rumors. However, Su Yan had dodged the question, giving people the impression that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were in a relationship, she wouldn’t know.

Zhou Yun had no choice but to emphasize again, ”I don’t even know Teacher Song Chi.”

Lew Qingqing patted the back of Zhou Yun’s hand, saying, ”There, there, don’t worry, the fans nowadays are very smart. They won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi, no need to worry.”

Zhou Yun gave Lew Qingqing a grateful smile.

Beside them, Su Yan took out a pair of sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Seeing this, Chen Quanying, who was chatting with someone else, asked directly, ”Su Yan, why are you wearing sunglasses after the sun has set? Trying to look cool?”

That remark almost made Su Yan slip up.

Zhou Yun keenly observed a twitch at the corner of Su Yan’s mouth.

She had long heard that Chen Quanying had a straightforward personality and there were many rumors within the circle about her putting others in their place. Now seeing it firsthand, it was indeed... rather distinctive. At least, Zhou Yun, who had been in the industry for so long, had never seen someone expose another so directly before.

Unless it involved Lew Qingqing and Su Yan who had conflicts to begin with.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouted her mouth, and said plaintively, ”Ah, Sister Ying, I’m tired, I wanted to take a nap in the car.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to directly confront Chen Quanying.

Lew Qingqing didn’t miss this chance to strike at her arch-enemy, adding insult to injury, ”Then I shall swap seats with you, I would like to have a chat with Sister Ying anyway. I’ve always loved Sister Ying’s music since I was in school, and I’ve even gone to Sister Ying’s concert with friends.”

Su Yan’s glare was instantly thrown over.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing excitedly, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yeah, five years ago, at the Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course I remember, I will not forget my own concert,” said Chen Quanying, turning her head to Su Yan, ”Weren’t you saying you wanted to take a nap? Since Lew Qingqing wants to switch with you, go ahead and switch now.”

Su Yan’s expression was a bit awkward, as if she were being roasted on the fire without a way down.

She was being sent away.

Su Yan couldn’t swallow her pride, but she had no choice but to bite the bullet and swap seats with Lew Qingqing.

The cameras were still filming, Zhou Yun smiled, and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan stiffly nodded her head and put her sunglasses back on, unclear if she really fell asleep or not.

It was then Zhou Yun took out her phone, slightly turned her body, making sure Su Yan couldn’t see the screen of her phone, and messaged Zhou Lan: Did you see this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She didn’t do it on purpose, right?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose, because I didn’t stand with her in unity, instead I was close with Lew Qingqing.

Zhou Lan: They really don’t get along?

Zhou Yun: They had a direct confrontation when changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Then don’t be rash for now, finish recording the show first, and remember the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask for a backup of the video.

Zhou Lan: Leave this matter to me, don’t worry.

After making sure everything was clear, Zhou Yun let out a sigh of relief and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Suddenly, Su Yan spoke up, her voice detached: ”Is there a problem?”

She really hadn’t slept.

Zhou Yun looked bewildered, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snorted but didn’t say anything further and fell silent again.

Zhou Yun smiled helplessly, then turned his head to look out the window, the smile in his eyes finally fading.

When they arrived at the place for dinner, there was a large table. After everyone was seated, the director and the camera crew were also ready. There were plenty of people standing around the empty spaces in front of the table, but only the artists appeared in the camera’s view.

With an expression that seemed to be yearning for food, Su Yan said, ”I’m so hungry. I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there are no more tasks, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls gazed at the camera with hopeful, pleading faces.

Pretty girls making such faces could always soften people’s hearts.

But how could the director possibly relent?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both sighed simultaneously but didn’t argue.

Soon, several men started complaining as well.

”Director, where’s the affection? Where’s the love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I’m not filming. I declare this episode to be my last recording.”

”This is too much!”

...

All just acting, all just for show, all for the camera’s effect.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the main character, so a helpless smile was all he needed.

Smile nicely, be a beautiful vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me,” Lew Qingqing said invitingly as she took her seat. ”Come on over.”

So Zhou Yun moved to sit beside her.

”You’re doing this on purpose, aren’t you!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun tonight!”

Zhou Yun was taken aback, at a loss as to how to respond to Zhang Haichen.

Lew Qingqing was smiling triumphantly, ”Humph, don’t come here causing trouble for our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun wore a puzzled look.

Zhang Haichen sighed and, facing the camera, wore a look of dejection.

Zhou Yun understood, it was again all for the variety show effect.

She giggled and wrapped her arm around Lew Qingqing’s.

Seeing this, Su Yan’s expression soured, and even the look she gave Zhou Yun was filled with a touch of disgust.

Of course, that bit of disgust was kept away from the camera.

Originally, Zhou Yun didn’t want to get involved in the struggle between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but Su Yan’s kick in the afternoon had irritated her.

Regardless of whether Lew Qingqing’s warmth and closeness in front of the camera were an act, at least Lew Qingqing had not treated her that way.

Zhou Yun was more than happy to display sisterly affection with Lew Qingqing, hoping to infuriate Su Yan.

During the following shoot, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing were even friendlier, occasionally linking arms or hugging.

Their affection made them look like best friends who had grown up together.
