Su Yan sat to the right of Lew Qingqing and Zhou Yun, leaning over curiously, she asked, ”Did you two know each other before?”

Lew Qingqing immediately answered, ”This is the first time we’ve met. Did you know Xiao Yun before?”

”Of course, it’s also my first time meeting him,” Su Yan said, ”But I was still a bit shocked when I saw the trending topics this morning.”

Zhou Yun said with an innocent face, ”Those paparazzi just make up nonsense.”

”I remember you’re filming with Song Chi, aren’t you?” Lew Qingqing questioned Su Yan, ”You should know best whether Zhou Yun is Song Chi’s girlfriend or not.”

Upon hearing this, Su Yan’s gaze flickered briefly, she chuckled twice and said, ”Although I’m on the same set with him, I wouldn’t know about that kind of thing.”

At first glance, this statement seemed unproblematic, but in reality, it was still being evasive. Lew Qingqing threw out that remark to have Su Yan serve as a witness to clear up the rumor. However, Su Yan carefully avoided the main issue, implying that even if Song Chi and Zhou Yun were in a relationship, she would not be privy to it.

Zhou Yun could only emphasize again, ”Teacher Song Chi and I don’t know each other at all.”

Lew Qingqing patted Zhou Yun’s hand and said, ”Don’t worry, fans are very smart nowadays; they won’t be led by the nose by the paparazzi, don’t fret.”

Zhou Yun showed a grateful smile to Lew Qingqing.

Meanwhile, Su Yan took out sunglasses from her bag and put them on herself.

Seeing this, Chen Quanying, who was talking to others, directly asked, ”Su Yan, the sun has set; why are you wearing sunglasses? Trying to be cool?”

That remark almost blew Su Yan’s cover.

Zhou Yun observed sharply as Su Yan’s lips twitched for a moment.

It was well-known that Chen Quanying was straightforward, and there were quite a few rumors about her picking on others in the industry. Seeing it firsthand today, it was certainly...unique. At least, Zhou Yun had never seen someone call out another person so directly in all her time in the industry.

Unless you counted Lew Qingqing and Su Yan, who already had conflicts.

Su Yan took off her sunglasses, pouted, and said with an aggrieved tone, ”Ay, Sister Ying, I’m tired and wanted to rest a bit in the car.”

Even Su Yan didn’t dare to directly confront Chen Quanying.

Lew Qingqing didn’t miss this opportunity to kick someone when they were down against her arch-enemy, ”Then I’ll swap seats with you, I just wanted to chat with Sister Ying. I really liked your songs when I was in school, and I even went to Sister Ying’s concert with my friends.”

Su Yan’s glare shot over instantly.

Chen Quanying looked at Lew Qingqing with surprise, ”You’ve been to my concert?”

”Yeah, five years ago, at Beijing Workers’ Stadium,” Lew Qingqing said, ”Do you remember?”

”Of course, I remember my own concert,” Chen Quanying turned her head and said to Su Yan, ”Didn’t you want to rest? Since Lew Qingqing wants to swap seats with you, go ahead and switch.”

Su Yan’s expression was a bit awkward, like she was stuck in a difficult position.

She was being sent away.

Unable to swallow her pride, Su Yan had no choice but to grin and bear it, swapping seats with Lew Qingqing.

With cameras still filming, Zhou Yun smiled and called out, ”Sister Yanyan.”

Su Yan, with a stern face, nodded and put on her sunglasses again, unclear whether she actually fell asleep.

Zhou Yun took out her phone and slightly turned her body away so Su Yan couldn’t see her phone screen, messaging Zhou Lan: Did you see it this afternoon?

Zhou Lan: What?

Zhou Yun said: Su Yan kicked me.

Zhou Lan: What? During the game? She probably didn’t do it on purpose, did she?

Zhou Yun: No, she did it on purpose because I wasn’t on her side, united in hatred. Instead, my relationship with Lew Qingqing seemed close.

Zhou Lan: They really don’t get along, huh?

Zhou Yun: They had an outright conflict while changing clothes.

Zhou Lan: Don’t act impulsively for now; finish recording the show first, don’t forget the image you need to present on camera.

Zhou Yun: I know, but remember to ask someone for a video backup.

Zhou Lan: ”Leave this matter to me, rest assured.”

After making it clear, Zhou Yun let out a sigh of relief, and then turned to glance at Su Yan.

Su Yan suddenly spoke up, her voice cold: ”What’s the matter?”

Indeed, she wasn’t asleep.

Zhou Yun looked puzzled, ”Huh? Sister Yanyan, what’s wrong?”

Su Yan snorted and remained silent without saying anything else.

With a helpless smile, Zhou Yun turned her head to look out the window, and only then did the smile in her eyes fade away.

Arriving at the dinner location, everyone took their seats at a large table. The director and the photographers were already prepared, and the space in front of the dining table was filled with people, but the artists were the only ones visible in the camera’s view.

Su Yan wore an expression of someone who had been tempted by delicious food, saying, ”I’m so hungry, I feel like I could eat a whole cow right now!”

Lew Qingqing immediately said, ”Me too, I’m really starving. Director, there aren’t any more tasks, right? Can we just have dinner?”

The two girls looked at the camera with longing eyes, their faces begging.

Pretty girls making faces like that always tug at people’s heartstrings.

But how could the director be soft-hearted?

”Of course... there’s a task.”

Su Yan and Lew Qingqing both let out a sigh, but they didn’t argue.

The few men behind them also started to complain.

”Director, what about affection? What about your love for us?”

”I’m not filming anymore, I declare this to be my last episode.”

”This is too much!”

...

It’s all an act, all for the camera, all for the effect on-screen.

Zhou Yun wasn’t the main character; she just had to smile helplessly.

Smile beautifully, be a pretty vase.

”Xiao Yun, come sit next to me.” After Lew Qingqing took her seat, she actively called out, ”Come on over.”

So, Zhou Yun moved to sit next to her.

”Lew Qingqing, are you doing this on purpose!” Zhang Haichen suddenly glared, ”I already said I wanted to sit with Xiao Yun this evening!”

Zhou Yun was startled and looked at Zhang Haichen, not knowing what to do.

Lew Qingqing smiled triumphantly and said, ”Hmph, stop corrupting our innocent Xiao Yun!”

Zhou Yun was dumbfounded.

Zhang Haichen sighed and faced the camera with a look of gloom.

Zhou Yun understood, it was all for the variety show effect.

She hugged Lew Qingqing’s arm with a giggly smile.

Su Yan saw this scene and her expression wasn’t great; even her gaze towards Zhou Yun had a hint of disgust.

Of course, this disgust was kept away from the camera’s view.

Zhou Yun initially didn’t want to get involved in the rivalry between Su Yan and Lew Qingqing, but the kick from Su Yan that afternoon had ignited a fire in Zhou Yun.

Regardless of how much of Lew Qingqing’s warmth and affection towards her in front of the camera was an act, at least Lew Qingqing hadn’t given her the same treatment.

Zhou Yun was happy to act sisterly with Lew Qingqing, just to infuriate Su Yan.

During the following shoot, Zhou Yun and Lew Qingqing appeared even closer, often linking arms or embracing.

They were so affectionate it was as if they had grown up together as best friends.
