Zhou Yun’s response was frank, and a frank response always seems endearing.

”Zhou Yun, good morning,” Yin Zhou greeted, holding a plate of breakfast as he passed by.

”Morning,” Zhou Yun replied with a smile to Yin Zhou.

”Who was that just now?” Li Yuning asked.

”That’s Yin Zhou. He’s an actor working with me on ’Eighth Heartbeat,’” Zhou Yun said.

”Pretty handsome.”

”Yes, very handsome.” Zhou Yun nodded in agreement, her eyes sparkling like little stars, ”When I decided to take on this drama, the producer and director asked about my thoughts on the cast, and I said, the actor must be handsome.”

”Are you also focused on looks?” Li Yuning asked.

”This drama is just one that focuses on looks,” Zhou Yun emphasized, ”It’s sweet and doting. The actress can be average, but the actor must be handsome.”

”Why’s that?” Li Yuning asked.

”If the male actor isn’t handsome, how are female viewers supposed to get immersed in the story?” Zhou Yun chuckled, ”I have a friend who’s also an actor, named Yuk Chu. She once said something I think is very true: some dramas are like creating a fantastical dream for the audience. The more unrealistic the fantasy is, the more it excites the girlish heart. I think ’Eighth Heartbeat’ is exactly that kind of drama.”

”I heard you weren’t very keen on this drama at first?” Li Yuning inquired.

Zhou Yun looked at Li Yuning in surprise, ”How did you know that?”

She surrendered, raising her hands, and said, ”Alright, truth is, it’s not that I didn’t want to do the drama; I just didn’t think I could. It’s been a long time since I’ve had that kind of girlish sentiment, and I was afraid I couldn’t portray it well. As you know, I’m not a very experienced actress, nor am I professionally trained in acting. If I botched it, it would be a disaster. Firstly, I would let down the handsome male actor, and secondly, I would do a disservice to the drama.”

”But in the end, you did take on this drama, why?” Li Yuning asked.

Why? Due to the company’s pressure, Yuehai Network’s persistence, and various other disappointing reasons.

”Because the company said I could do it, and the producer also thought I could, so I went with it,” Zhou Yun said with a smile, ”Besides, the male actor is handsome.”

With jokes and banter, the interview finally came to an end.

”Sister Xiao Yun!” Suddenly, the voice of a girl rang out.

Zhou Yun looked around puzzled and saw a girl with her hair done up in a bun.

Zhou Yun recognized her; she was also an actress in the drama, playing a supporting role.

Her name seemed to be... Yu Yhan?

Yu Yhan ran over to Zhou Yun with a friendly smile and hugged her.

Zhou Yun was startled.

She had never been this close to Yu Yhan.

What was Yu Yhan doing?

”Ah, are you filming a show?” Yu Yhan asked belatedly.

Zhou Yun could only explain, ”Yes, we are filming a program.”

Yu Yhan’s pupils widened in shock, and she quickly covered her face with her hands, ”I haven’t even put on makeup!”

With that, she turned and ran off.

Zhou Yun was at a loss.

It belatedly occurred to her that she also hadn’t put on makeup.

Zhou Yun turned to Li Yuning and asked, ”Do I look haggard, too? I think I haven’t put on makeup either.”

”You look fine, you’re so pale,” Li Yuning said.

Zhou Yun insisted, ”No, that won’t do. I have to go out later. I’ll go apply some sunscreen; wait for me.”

Zhou Yun also ran off.

She said she would apply sunscreen and really did only that.

Wearing a bucket hat and sunglasses, dressed simply in a T-shirt, beach shorts, and flip-flops, she came down.

Li Yuning thought Zhou Yun was seriously going upstairs to put on makeup, anticipating a glamorous appearance for the camera, but she had merely gone from a casual home style to an ordinary student look.

Zhou Yun and Zheng Xiaojue hopped into a cab to go to the nearby supermarket.

Given the camera crew filming them, it was hard not to draw attention.

Zhou Yun felt a bit of a headache and whispered to Zheng Xiaojue, ”If anyone comes up and asks what we’re doing, just tell them we’re college students filming a short film.”

Zheng Xiaojue asked in surprise, ”But won’t people recognize you as Zhou Yun?”

”No way, let me tell you, the celebrities who are easily recognized in real life are on the level of Yang Mi and Zhao Liying. For someone like me who’s only had a bit of online buzz, unless you tell them, no one would remember my name.”

The staff listening to Zhou Yun from their earpieces were at a loss for words.

Many of them muttered internally, do you think those trending searches over the past few months were for nothing?
