Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 583: Chapter 442: Stop Overthinking_2

The company arranged a car to pick them up.

The car first dropped Zhou Yun off at Song Chi’s house.

”Get some rest early. There’s no work tomorrow morning, so you can rest a bit too. We’ll get in contact around noon,” Zhou Yun said to Cao Jun and Zheng Xiaojue as she got out of the car.

”Okay, Sister Xiao Yun, you get some good rest too,” Zheng Xiaojue waved her hand.

It was already past midnight.

Zhou Yun walked upstairs, entered the passcode, and opened the door.

As the door opened, the living room lights were still on.

Zhou Yun leaned her suitcase against the shoe cabinet, switched into slippers, and went in. She discovered Song Chi had already fallen asleep on the sofa, with a script that had fallen to the ground below.

Zhou Yun tiptoed, picked up the script, and placed it on the coffee table.

Luckily, the heating was on inside, so Song Chi wouldn’t catch a cold sleeping like this.

Zhou Yun took a neatly folded blanket from the side and gently covered Song Chi with it.

Right at that moment, the doorbell suddenly rang.

Zhou Yun got startled.

”Hello, takeaway,” the delivery guy’s voice came from outside the door.

Song Chi opened his eyes and replied, ”Coming!”

Then he saw Zhou Yun.

Zhou Yun and Song Chi stared at each other with wide eyes.

”When did you get back?” Song Chi asked in surprise.

Zhou Yun said, ”Just now, right on the heels of the delivery guy.”

Song Chi sat up, ”I’ll go get the takeaway.”

During the day, Song Chi had told her that he would stew some soup for her and order some barbecue.

However, the timing of this barbecue delivery was just too perfect.

Zhou Yun sat on the sofa, watching Song Chi bring in the takeaway.

”Did you guess when I’d be back and ordered this?” Zhou Yun asked.

Song Chi placed the bag on the coffee table, nodded, and said, ”I checked the time and figured it would be about now. By the way, there’s also soup simmering in the kitchen. I’ll get it sorted; you tidy up the coffee table.”

Zhou Yun responded with an ”Okay,” squatting down in front of the coffee table, clearing it, and opening up the takeaway packaging.

After a while, Song Chi came over with a bowl of thick aromatic soup, setting it down on the coffee table for Zhou Yun.

”Wow, what kind of soup is this?”

”Pigeon soup, Auntie made it,” Song Chi said. ”You don’t need to diet lately, so you can take this opportunity to nourish yourself.”

Zhou Yun sat cross-legged on the carpet, saying, ”Understood.”

Song Chi turned on the TV and said, ”I haven’t watched tonight’s episode yet, but the real-time ratings have gone up by 0.5% tonight.”

Zhou Yun looked at Song Chi in surprise, asking, ”Really?”

Song Chi smiled, ”Of course it’s true, there’s no falsehood. Your fans are really powerful, all shouting that they should watch ’Heart Inquiry’ before making any fuss, which even boosted the TV ratings.”

According to broadcast regulations, the episodes updated tonight will be released on video websites at midnight.

In order to join the debate battlefield at the first opportunity, many people had to stick to the television, watching while battling others.

”So ’Heart Inquiry’’s ratings have broken 1?”

”Yes, the ratings have broken 1,” Song Chi said. ”The person in charge of buying shows at Binjiang TV even sent me a red envelope.”

Zhou Yun smiled relievedly, ”If every debate could bring about this effect, I wouldn’t mind if they argued a few more times.”

”Now the TV station is starting to expand and target the promotions broader; our show’s main audience is still young people, but according to their research, the middle-aged and elderly groups also responded well to the show,” Song Chi explained. ”They want us, the main cast, to appear on some programs targeted at middle-aged and older audiences to broaden the promotion.”

”I can cooperate,” Zhou Yun said. ”But I’ll be starting on a new film set in a little over a week, is there enough time?”

”It should be okay,” Song Chi nodded. ”Binjiang TV has scheduled several of their top programs for our cast to record and promote the show. Unfortunately, because of the broadcasting platform issues, we can’t appear on other platforms’ shows.”

”Each platform has to compete; that can’t be helped,” Zhou Yun said. ”But, Song Chi, when we were promoting the movie ’Life’ before, Sister Lan thought of a high-volume promotional strategy, which is quite draining and energy-consuming. She scoured the market for all sorts of film and media bloggers and vloggers, got in touch with them to do special interviews with me to promote ’Life.’ We didn’t need me to specifically make time for their recording with this method. They would align with my schedule to get the interview content done, which was very time-efficient, but the effect was good. Each of them might have only several hundred thousand to a few million followers, but combined, they are a force not to be underestimated. That’s how ’Life’s’ presale box office was driven up.”

Song Chi nodded, ”I’ll talk to the promotional team about this.”

”Sure, if you need me, just let me know. As long as the timing is okay, I will cooperate,” Zhou Yun said. ”Especially now with the internet being so advanced, even if I’m on set, I can still promote online through Q&As, live streams, and online interviews, just like yesterday.”

”Don’t worry, with your recent online popularity, even if I wanted to give you a break, our show’s PR team wouldn’t agree to let you rest,” Song Chi said with a laugh. ”They would love to grab you and have you running promotions every day.”

Zhou Yun huffed lightly, ”And here I thought you would be considerate enough to clear my schedule.”

”I did push back some of it,” Song Chi said.

Zhou Yun’s face changed immediately, ”See, I knew you would push my work away; you’ve been caught red-handed.”

Song Chi: ”...”

”How come no matter what I do, you always have something to say?”

”Yeah, right,” Zhou Yun shamelessly nodded in agreement.

”...”

Song Chi sighed and said, ”Fine, I’ll shut up, you better eat quickly.”
