Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

44: Chapter 44 The One-Horned Thunder Tiger, the Shadow Raven.”It’s fine, don’t worry.”

Bai Ya reached out and rubbed Da Huang’s head, soothing it.

The collar on Da Huang’s neck was recording, so she couldn’t say too much, lest she invite unnecessary trouble.

After learning about the situation in the Daxing Mountain Range, Bai Ya felt worried and a mix of complex emotions. She was worried about Bai Xuan’s situation, whether he was injured, or...

The complex emotions stemmed from the issue of opposing sides; in this situation, they might one day meet on the battlefield, which was something she did not want to see.

By the way, Bai Ya had already become a Martial Artist and had been admitted to a military academy.

Da Huang nodded gently, slowly closed its eyes, and lay down on the ground to sleep. It understood what Bai Ya meant, so it didn’t ask any more questions.

...

Meanwhile, in the central region of the Far East.

The ground was covered in white snow, and the cold wind was biting; the cold season had already arrived.

Due to the Aura resurgence, this year was even colder.

Relying on his divine sense and aerial vantage point, combined with his super-powered vision, Bai Xuan quickly located Huzi and Xiao Hei, bringing Hu Da and Mother Tiger here.

With the second Aura Tide eruption, Huzi and Xiao Hei had seized the initiative, obtaining massive resources, and their strength had improved significantly.

Huzi’s level had reached Tier 2, Stage 3. It was fifteen meters long, the single horn on its forehead was a dark purple, and its original black markings had turned deep blue, making it look even more imposing and majestic.

Inside the cave, various animal furs were spread out. Huzi was lying on top of them, fast asleep. In the corner of the cave, white bones were piled up like a mountain.

As Huzi’s size grew larger and larger, ordinary caves could no longer accommodate it. So, it found a suitable cave and expanded it with its own paws until it was suitable for living.

Next to Huzi was a bird’s nest, where Xiao Hei was sleeping. It had been too tired recently, so it was taking a good rest these past few days.

Xiao Hei had also successfully advanced to Tier 2, though only at Tier 2, Stage 1.

Suddenly, Huzi and Xiao Hei opened their eyes wide:

”It’s Xiao Bai.”

”And my mom and big brother. Brother Bai really brought them here.”

Huzi and Xiao Hei got up and ran out of the cave.

What came into view was one eagle and two tigers. Bai Xuan was perched on Hu Da’s head, making eye contact with Xiao Hei and Hu Da.

Three tigers and two birds stared at each other for a moment, then Huzi, acting like a goofball, ran toward Mother Tiger, Hu Da, and Bai Xuan:

”Mom, Big Brother, Brother Bai, you’re finally here! I missed you all so much.”

Mother Tiger was given a big start by Huzi:

”Huzi, you’ve grown so big! Mom almost didn’t recognize you.”

Originally, Mother Tiger was worried that Huzi wasn’t eating well, but looking at it now... she had worried for nothing. Just looking at this size, it was clear that its diet was incredibly good.

”Holy crap, how did you get so big?!”

Hu Da was also startled, its fur almost standing on end. This size... it was truly terrifying, and the aura on its body was also very powerful.

”Mom, Big Brother, Brother Bai, it’s so good to see you.”

Huzi rubbed its head against Mother Tiger, Hu Da, and Bai Xuan.

”Mom missed you too,” Mother Tiger replied.

”So cheesy,” Hu Da chimed in at an inopportune moment.

”You haven’t changed a bit.” Huzi smiled, not minding it, or perhaps it was just used to it.

”Well, you guys chat, I won’t disturb you.”

Bai Xuan gave the mother and the two tigers some time to catch up.

Bai Xuan flapped his wings and flew over to Xiao Hei:

”Brother Hei, how have you been lately?”

Eye of Appraisal displayed the information for Xiao Hei and Huzi.

[Race]: One-Horned Thunder Tiger.

[Level]: Tier 2, Stage 3.

[Attribute]: Lightning.

— —

[Race]: Shadow Raven.

[Level]: Tier 2, Stage 1.

[Attribute]: Dark.

Xiao Hei’s talent was a bit lacking, but because it was part of the first batch of Mutated Creatures, its level had reached Tier 2, and it had awakened attribute powers, placing it in the upper-middle tier nowadays.

Huzi’s talent was much higher, with a level of Tier 2, Stage 3, a massive size, infinite strength, and it had also awakened the Lightning attribute; it was undoubtedly an upper-tier existence, even bordering on top-tier.

Very few exotic beasts could threaten them, unless they encountered a pack; two fists are no match for four hands. However, with Bai Xuan looking out for them, these were things they didn’t need to worry too much about.

”Food is plentiful here. After the second Aura Tide arrived, we seized the initiative and gained quite a few resources. We’ve been living quite well, but it’s just a bit cold. Huzi, that guy, has thick skin and isn’t affected, but I’m in a bit of an awkward spot; it’s so cold that I don’t even want to go out hunting.”

Xiao Hei didn’t want to go out hunting, and Huzi would bring food back for it to eat, but Xiao Hei was just talking casually. It would still go out to hunt. Huzi had a huge appetite and needed to eat a lot of food every day; with Xiao Hei’s help, it was much easier.

Flying high in the sky, using its super vision to locate prey and informing Huzi, they would then go hunt together. Most were pack-based exotic beasts. With Xiao Hei and Huzi working together, using pincer attacks, they could quickly kill a large amount of prey.

Filling their stomachs was important since they were still growing; they absolutely couldn’t go hungry. Plus, Xiao Hei still wanted to rely on Huzi for protection.

”How about I bring you food, and you can stay at home comfortably?” Bai Xuan laughed. This bit of food was easy for him to hunt.

However, Bai Xuan was just saying that casually. Now was the time to improve strength, and they couldn’t slack off, otherwise, even their lives would be hard to protect. Bai Xuan couldn’t protect Xiao Hei every moment of the day; he had his own things to do.

”Forget it. Actually, it was just a bit of an adjustment at the beginning; it’ll be fine after a while.” Xiao Hei smiled bitterly, waved its wings, and declined.

”That’s true. By the way, how is the situation here? Are there any powerful exotic beasts?”

”Quite a lot. There are about three or four hundred Tier 2 ones now, and there will be more in a while. After all, the aura is getting denser and denser, and levels are shooting up, so the numbers will naturally increase.”

Xiao Hei described the situation in this area. It didn’t know about other areas; it was barely handling this one, so it didn’t have time to deal with Mutated Creatures in other regions.

”Then you must pay more attention to safety. If you encounter something you can’t beat, run, then come find me, and I’ll go teach them a lesson for you.” Bai Xuan nodded gently, not forgetting to offer a few reminders.

Xiao Hei’s strength was in the upper-middle range; it was very dangerous if it encountered a bird of prey with a higher level.

”I will. By the way, how are things over at the mountain range? Are there many exotic beasts? There should be over a thousand Tier 2 ones, right?”

”This... there might only be a few left. Humans launched a large-scale bombardment, and the mountain range was almost blown away. Naturally, the exotic beasts suffered heavy casualties. I estimate... at least eighty percent died.”

Bai Xuan smiled bitterly. That bombardment was terrifying. It was the first time Bai Xuan had witnessed the whole process with his own eyes; the smell of burning and blood permeated everywhere.

”This... aren’t humans just too powerful?” Xiao Hei was incredulous. The mountain range was almost blown away; how powerful must that be!
