Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

12: Chapter 12: Obtaining Spirit Stones Again, and How to Deal with Them”That’s a pretty good name.”

”May I ask how to address you, Big Brother?”

”Just call me Brother Bai.”

Before long, Huzi brought Bai Xuan to the entrance of the cave.

Huzi walked into the cave and handed three palm-sized Spirit Stones to Bai Xuan.

After Bai Xuan appraised them, he swallowed them in one gulp, circulated his blood, and quickly absorbed the three Spirit Stones; this energy significantly boosted Bai Xuan’s strength.

At the same time, he gained 300 Evolution Points.

”Brother Bai has a good appetite.” Seeing this scene, Huzi felt heartbroken.

Bai Xuan did not delve into exactly how many Spirit Stones Huzi had; it was best if he didn’t have any saved up, but if he did, it would just boost his strength a bit, which would be useful for attracting humanity’s attention for Bai Xuan later on.

Bai Xuan wasn’t stupid enough to go head-to-head with humans right now; the Dragon Kingdom had advanced technology, and killing early-stage mutant creatures was by no means difficult, just a bit troublesome.

”I’m leaving first. We’ll talk if I need you in the future. Don’t even think about running away; if I catch you, you’ll bear the consequences.”

Bai Xuan prepared to make a trip back to bring Xiao Hei over here.

Before leaving, he didn’t forget to threaten Huzi, which made Huzi feel extremely stifled:

”Rest assured, Big Brother, I will never run away. I will go through fire and water for you in this life, without hesitation.”

Bai Xuan nodded with satisfaction, then spread his wings and flew into the sky.

Huzi watched Bai Xuan fly away and sighed:

”Sigh, how did I end up provoking this plague god!”

If Bai Xuan treated him sincerely, that wouldn’t be bad; after all, following a good big brother meant he wouldn’t fare too poorly in the future. But if Bai Xuan was just using him as cannon fodder, he would be crying without tears.

Bai Xuan flew all the way to the outskirts without encountering any danger, and nothing was monitoring him.

At this moment, Xiao Hei was squatting in the bird’s nest in the cave, fast asleep.

His level had also increased by one stage, reaching the third stage of the secondary rank.

His body length had reached 1.2 meters, and he was pitch black all over.

In the outskirts of the mountain range, no mutant creature could kill Xiao Hei.

He was living very comfortably, eating and drinking his fill, without having to worry about the threat of predators.

But Xiao Hei knew this was just an appearance; it wouldn’t be long before a crisis arrived.

However, Xiao Hei wasn’t too worried, after all, he had Bai Xuan covering for him.

No matter how fast those mutant creatures grew, could they be faster than Bai Xuan?

”Brother Hei, stop sleeping.” Bai Xuan landed at the cave entrance.

The cave could no longer accommodate Bai Xuan’s size.

Bai Xuan looked around, finally looked into the cave, and suddenly his pupils constricted, his expression instantly turning cold.

At the same time, Xiao Hei woke up, yawned, and was startled when he saw Bai Xuan’s massive size:

”Holy crap! Is that you, Little Bai?”

If he hadn’t heard Bai Xuan’s voice just now, and if this behemoth wasn’t a Goshawk, he wouldn’t have recognized it as Bai Xuan.

After all, how much time had passed, and his size had increased again, to an absurd degree!

”Brother Hei, go and bring that little gadget in the cave over here.” Bai Xuan used his Eagle Claw to point at the pinhole camera in the corner of the cave, which was hidden very well.

If not for Bai Xuan’s good vision, he wouldn’t have noticed it either.

”What is this thing?”

Xiao Hei flew to the corner and finally saw the pitch-black pinhole camera; it was small and not easy to spot, and since the corner of the cave didn’t get any light, it was even harder to detect.

”A human camera. You’ve been under surveillance for a while.” Bai Xuan crushed the camera before answering.

It seemed humans wanted to catch them all in one go, with him as the main target.

This time, they hadn’t directly caught Xiao Hei.

Afterward, Bai Xuan checked Xiao Hei up and down and found a tracker; likewise, he crushed it directly.

”What? I was being monitored again! How come I didn’t notice!”

Hearing this, Xiao Hei was shocked; every move he made during this time had been monitored, which was terrifying. This meant those people had already discovered his location.

After hearing Bai Xuan explain the humans’ intentions, Xiao Hei remained vigilant against humans and dared not get close.

He didn’t dare to wander around, and every time he returned, he would check to see if he was being tracked, but he never expected that he had still been discovered, and for quite some time now.

He only went out to forage after dark and spent most of his time in the cave.

”We can’t stay here any longer. Let’s go to the central zone.”

There are many more mutant creatures there; by mingling among them, the probability of being caught will be much smaller.

”Okay, I’ll listen to you.” Xiao Hei trusted Bai Xuan very much now and agreed without a second thought.

”By the way, Little Bai, the creatures there should be very strong, right?” Xiao Hei was a bit worried.

After all, Bai Xuan couldn’t stay by his side all the time, and the mutant creatures in the central zone were very strong, much more dangerous than in the outskirts; there was a reason for Xiao Hei’s worry and fear.

”Don’t worry, I have a subordinate there. You just stay next to him, and no one will dare to touch you.” Bai Xuan knew he couldn’t stay by Xiao Hei’s side all the time.

And since Huzi’s territory was right there, Xiao Hei would be very safe.

In fact, if Xiao Hei wanted, Bai Xuan could even ensure he didn’t need to go out hunting; he could just catch a few mutant creatures to take care of Xiao Hei’s meals.

”Little Bai, thank you.” Xiao Hei was very grateful.

”Why say such things between us?” Bai Xuan waved his wings.

Bai Xuan would always remember the kindness Xiao Hei had shown him, and he would definitely help Xiao Hei with anything within his power.

Just like that, Bai Xuan took Xiao Hei and headed toward the central zone.

”That Goshawk has grown bigger again.”

”How long has it been since last time? This is too astonishing.”

”Also, it discovered us again. Has the army gone over there yet?”

”They have already set off, but it’s highly likely they won’t catch up. Moreover, the tracker is damaged, so we have no idea where to look.”

”After investigating during this period, the spiritual energy is most abundant in the central zone, where there are numerous mutant creatures. Our drones were attacked by birds before they could even get close; they couldn’t get in at all. Therefore, I suspect Raptor Number One will be in the central zone.”

Raptor Number One was their codename for Bai Xuan.

Its evolution was too fast; no other avian in the country evolved as quickly as it did.

Plus its terrifying insight and Flight speed, it completely deserved the title of Raptor Number One.

This also represented their fear and attention toward Raptor Number One.

Elder Lin sat in his chair, his elbows resting on the table, his hands clasped together and placed in front of his mouth, thinking about countermeasures:

”Is there any good news from the research institute?”

”Apart from naming this mysterious energy ’spiritual energy,’ there has been no other progress.”

A scholar stepped forward to answer the question.

”It’s fine, we still have time; it can’t stir up much trouble for now.”

”According to the Dragon Kingdom’s military strength, suppressing these beasts for decades is not a problem.”

”If only it were as simple as it looks on the surface. Later on, the spiritual energy recovery will become faster and faster. We are only in the early stages now; what about the middle stage, the late stage, or a full-blown eruption?

For the future of humanity, for the future of the Dragon Kingdom, we must master it as soon as possible, even if it means losing our lives, we will not hesitate!”
