Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

28: Chapter 28 Bai Ya appears, her identity is believed.”Brother Bai, don’t worry. Even if it costs me my life, I will protect Sister Ya and Mom.”

Da Huang knew its mission was to protect its family.

Anyone who wants to harm its family must step over its dead body!

Da Huang was originally a stray dog. After being taken in by Bai Xuan and well-fed, it had long since made up its mind to protect its family for its entire life, and that would never change.

”Thanks, Da Huang.” Bai Xuan smiled.

”Da Huang, don’t pretend you didn’t hear me. Did you break that collar on purpose?”

Bai Ya came to the first floor, looked at Da Huang at the door, and shouted angrily.

Upon hearing this, Da Huang was on the verge of tears; how was it supposed to explain this?

”I broke it, don’t blame Da Huang.”

Hearing this familiar voice, Bai Ya froze:

”Who is it? Come out! Stop acting mysterious.”

Bai Ya had just poked her head out the window to look outside and hadn’t seen anyone at all.

And why was this voice so familiar? It sounded exactly like her older brother.

”It’s me, Bai Xuan.” Bai Xuan walked into the doorway, then leaned against the wall and looked at Bai Ya.

Seeing a Blue Eagle that could talk and even claimed to be her older brother, Bai Ya almost fainted from fright and hurriedly called out to Da Huang:

”Da Huang, catch it!”

Da Huang remained unmoved, sitting on the ground as usual, its eyes filled with helplessness, not knowing what to do.

Bai Ya couldn’t understand it when it spoke, so it couldn’t explain even if it wanted to.

”Da Huang, speak,” Bai Xuan said nonchalantly.

”Brother Bai, what do you want me to say? Sister Ya can’t understand me anyway.”

Da Huang walked into the doorway, sat down beside Bai Xuan, and said helplessly.

”Da Huang, what did you just say?” Bai Ya was so shocked her jaw nearly dropped; she could actually understand what Da Huang was saying.

”It’s useless to say anything more, you can’t understand anyway.”

”I can understand you.”

”You really can understand?”

”I really can.”

”You’re an idiot.”

”You’re the idiot.”

”Looks like you really can understand.” Da Huang was incredibly shocked.

And joyful, too; it could finally communicate with humans without any barriers.

”Now can we explain things?” Bai Xuan spoke up.

”Sister Ya, I can swear on my canine honor that he really is Brother Bai. It’s authentic, no fakes. Brother Bai has been reborn and has come back to be with us.”

The more Da Huang said, the more excited it became, its eyes welling up with tears. It wanted to hug Bai Xuan and have a good cry. After learning of Bai Xuan’s death, Da Huang hadn’t eaten for several days, and Mom and Sister Ya had been washing their faces with tears every day.

For a long time, the atmosphere had been very sorrowful.

This time, Bai Xuan didn’t stop it, letting Da Huang lie on the ground and hug his body while crying. After a while, he stopped it:

”That’s enough, stop crying.”

”Brother Bai, you don’t know how sad I was when I heard you died. I didn’t eat a single bite for days, and I would secretly cry while looking at your black-and-white photo. Wuwuwu, it’s really great that you’re alive.”

Da Huang was crying messily, snot streaming down, getting snot all over the feathers on one of Bai Xuan’s wings, which disgusted Bai Xuan to no end:

”Aren’t I still alive now? Stop crying, calm down, and keep your snot off me.”

”Oh, oh, Brother Bai, I’ll wipe it clean for you.”

”No need, let’s explain everything clearly first.”

Bai Xuan looked at Bai Ya; from her eyes and behavior, he could tell she still didn’t believe he was Bai Xuan.

Afterward, Bai Xuan recounted a whole bunch of past events.

Bai Ya gradually came to believe that the Blue Eagle in front of her was indeed her brother, but why had he turned into an eagle? That made Bai Ya very curious.

Bai Ya squatted on the ground, looking Bai Xuan up and down.

”Don’t look at me like that, it’s awkward.” Bai Xuan felt a bit uncomfortable being stared at.

”Big Brother, are you also a mutant creature?” Bai Ya reached out and touched Bai Xuan’s head, flicking the tuft of hair on top of his head. It actually felt quite comfortable.

Bai Xuan flapped his wings and flew onto a chair, clearly not liking Bai Ya touching him like that, and nodded slightly:

”Right, otherwise I wouldn’t be able to talk to you.”

”Then Brother Bai, is it because of you that I can talk to Sister Ya?”

Da Huang asked. Previously, Sister Ya couldn’t understand it at all, but as soon as Brother Bai arrived, she could understand. There was no way that was just a coincidence.

”That’s right, from now on you can both communicate without barriers.”

Bai Xuan proudly raised his head.

”Look at you, so proud. Still the same stubborn personality, hasn’t changed a bit.”

Bai Ya rolled her eyes at Bai Xuan.

What’s wrong with her touching him? It wouldn’t kill him.

She was still holding a grudge about Bai Xuan’s resistance just now.

”Da Huang, don’t you agree?” Bai Ya looked at Da Huang.

”This... I think it’s quite good.” Da Huang hesitated for a moment before speaking awkwardly.

”Da Huang, don’t forget who has been bringing you food during this time. I’ll give you one more chance, answer again.”

”This...” Da Huang looked at Bai Xuan with a pleading look.

”You’re still the same stubborn person, hasn’t changed a bit, only knowing how to bully Da Huang. I can’t even watch it anymore.”

Bai Xuan gave her a taste of her own medicine.

Previously, Bai Xuan and Bai Ya often argued and didn’t like the look of each other.

When asked to mediate, Da Huang would pretend not to understand. Now that they could communicate without barriers, that method no longer worked.

Da Huang looked at the two people in front of it who were about to argue again at the drop of a hat, feeling a bit helpless, yet also warm. Ever since Bai Xuan died, it hadn’t been this lively; it had become much colder.

”Uh, can you two stop arguing? We haven’t seen each other in a long time, it’s not good to argue as soon as we meet.” Da Huang stepped in to smooth things over.

”I’ll give Da Huang some face this time and won’t stoop to your level,” Bai Ya said.

Then she patted Da Huang’s head; Da Huang was taller than Bai Ya while sitting on the ground:

”I didn’t expect Da Huang to be so smart now.”

When she first noticed Da Huang’s size shooting up, Bai Ya had been incredibly shocked and instinctively afraid. Only after confirming that Da Huang was still Da Huang did she breathe a sigh of relief.

”I’ve always been smart, you just didn’t know it.”

Da Huang proudly raised its head, its tail wagging continuously.

Seeing this scene, Bai Ya’s mouth twitched. As expected of a dog raised by Bai Xuan, their personalities were so similar.

Then she turned her head to look at Bai Xuan:

”Da Huang has grown so big, why are you still so small? Could it be...”

”Too lazy to explain it to you.” Bai Xuan curled his lip.

Suddenly thinking of something, he asked:

”How should we handle the matter with Da Huang’s collar?”

”What else can we do? We’ll just have to tell the military that Da Huang accidentally broke it. They should come over in a few days to replace it with a new one.”

Bai Ya spread her hands; this was the only way for now.

Bai Ya wasn’t stupid; she could naturally see that Bai Xuan didn’t want people to know he had been there.

Therefore, she would help Bai Xuan keep it a secret.

Although it was a bit wrong, who told him to be her older brother, and he hadn’t done anything harmful or wicked.

If he had done something wicked, it would be a different story, but she believed her brother wouldn’t do such things.
