Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

43: Chapter 43 News Broadcast, Frost Eagle.”Will this kind of thing happen again in the future?”

Hu Da continued to ask, his heart full of admiration for Bai Xuan’s insight.

He understood humans so well; if Bai Xuan hadn’t led them away, they would be among the cannon fodder in the mountains right now.

”Probably, but the most important thing right now is to improve our own strength. Might makes right; only then can we face future difficulties and catastrophes.”

Bai Xuan patiently answered Hu Da’s questions.

The world is not peaceful right now; only the strong have the right to survive.

It’s the same for humans; who will have the last laugh... is unknown.

Hu Da wanted to continue asking, but was interrupted by Mother Tiger:

”How can you ask so many questions? Xiao Bai is about to lose his patience with you.”

”I just... wanted to understand the current situation better,” Hu Da replied aggrievedly.

”It’s fine, I don’t mind. However, it’s better if we hurry and rendezvous with Hu Zi and the others now; we can chat about this when we have time later.”

Bai Xuan guessed that Bear Country was dealing with matters in the west and the Siberia region.

They can’t manage the Far East region yet; as long as we do our best to improve our strength during this time and pay attention to events in other regions, we can avoid this disaster.

”Alright, let’s set off then.” Hu Da nodded heavily.

Mother Tiger also missed Hu Zi very much and was eager to see him, to confirm if he was safe and how much he had grown:

”Xiao Bai, then I’ll have to trouble you to lead the way.”

Hu Zi and Hu Da were from Mother Tiger’s first litter; she had only given birth to these two and loved them dearly as her own flesh and blood.

”Sure, let’s go.”

Just like that, Bai Xuan led Mother Tiger and Hu Da toward the north.

[Welcome to the Central News Simulcast. Today, the second Aura Tide erupted. The military carried out large-scale bombings of the Daxing Mountain Range, Xiaoxing Mountains, Changbai Mountains, and other forest areas. A full seventy percent of Mutated Creatures were eliminated, winning a great deal of precious time for the Dragon Country...]

Faced with today’s events, the internet was in an absolute uproar.

Animal protection organizations expressed that they found it unacceptable.

Some also felt it was going too far and shouldn’t be so cruel.

However, the majority still unconditionally supported the country’s actions.

[Good riddance! Those mutated animals are like mad dogs. Although they’ve become smarter, they have no humanity! It’s one thing to kill each other, but attacking people on sight is absolutely unacceptable. Humans always come first; everything else is secondary!]

[Don’t you think what you’re saying is a bit too extreme and one-sided? My Potato is a Mutated Creature, and he would protect me and my family without hesitation. We should treat them equally instead of being so self-righteous and thinking we’re superior!]

[Those who threaten the safety of Dragon Country must be killed; we cannot be soft-hearted. If those Mutated Creatures could live in peace with us, we’d be more than happy, but there’s no choice. They are ferocious, their wild nature has exploded, and they are more terrifying than before. If they threaten human safety, they must be eliminated.]

[Well said. We are good friends with friendly and docile animals, but those ferocious ones who kill without blinking are enemies!]

[Animals have lives too, and they have their own way of living. We shouldn’t hurt them like this. There are also docile animals in the mountains; we shouldn’t generalize and kill them all with one blow!]

[Then what do you suggest? Go looking for them one by one? How ridiculous.]

[I think there are better ways to solve this. This is too cruel; humans are far more cruel than animals!]

[You hypocritical idiot. If you don’t want to be human so badly, go stay in the forest and talk to them about morals and etiquette; see if they’ll listen to you.]

[Why should I listen to you! Cursing is so uncivilized.]

During the second Aura Tide, humans obtained a large amount of aura resources.

Transport trucks filled with spirit stones and Spirit Plants were driven from all over the country to the center for controlled distribution, giving priority to martial artists with high talent.

demon cores were even more numerous. They are also farming ferocious beasts to provide for both the cultivated beasts and the martial artists, who are growing at an extremely rapid pace.

Several Rank 2 martial artists have already been born. Among them, two have awakened special abilities, both of which are elemental attributes: wind and fire. They are currently teaching via live stream on the official website and demonstrating the terrifying power and strength of Rank 2.

More and more people are becoming martial artists, and they are all under state control.

After all, possessing such power to commit crimes and harm society is absolutely forbidden. If they protect the home and country, the state will naturally pour resources into training them, but if they burn, kill, and pillage, they will be dealt with according to the law.

...

Small town.

Da Huang stayed at the doorstep as usual, guarding the house.

With the eruption of the second Aura Tide and the rich aura, Mutated Creatures have more or less increased in rank.

Da Huang was the same. After the Aura Tide erupted, his rank broke through to Rank 2, and his size increased again. He was now eight meters long, his fangs were sharper and more lethal, bone spikes grew from his spine, and the fur on his limbs gradually changed from yellow to red. The change was so massive that it was impossible to associate his current self with the old Da Huang.

Even though Da Huang lay docilely at the door without the slightest hint of hostility, no one dared to approach.

Since Da Huang evolved, fewer and fewer people came to visit. Now, some people passing by on the road less than a hundred meters from the front door are so scared they fall on their backsides, yellow liquid leaking from their crotches—they’ve literally wet themselves.

Children were even more terrified, screaming and crying until their faces were a mess.

Regarding this, Da Huang, Bai Ya, and Mother Bai were very helpless. It was okay before when he was smaller and could be brought into the house and kept in a room.

Now he can only enter the main gate; he can’t go up the stairs, and the same goes for the room doors.

But space is limited, and Da Huang is uncomfortable staying there; the same goes for Bai Ya and Mother Bai staying on the first floor.

Meanwhile, Bai Ya sat on a small stool, scrolling through her phone and watching videos to understand the current situation.

As she gained a deeper understanding, she seemed to have discovered Bai Xuan’s identity and the reason why he hadn’t acknowledged her, leaving her with mixed feelings.

Bai Xuan was ranked first on Dragon Country’s Exotic Beast Rankings under the codename ’Frost Eagle.’ His fame had skyrocketed and was spreading all over the internet with numerous video commentaries; opinions on Bai Xuan were mixed.

Bai Xuan had killed many Soldiers in the mountains.

He had also helped humans; the small town was one of those instances. To avoid suspicion, Bai Xuan had helped many people and dealt with many exotic beasts on his way back to the mountains.

Some felt the military had provoked Bai Xuan first, so fighting back was normal, while others felt that as long as Bai Xuan harmed people, he had to die.

Because of this, the arguments were endless.

Many others marveled at Bai Xuan’s terrifying talent and strength.

According to the military’s investigation, Bai Xuan was the first Rank 2 ferocious beast and had even awakened an Ice Attribute. Without relying on external objects, Bai Xuan could be called invincible; no creature could defeat him.

”Sister Ya, is there any news of Brother Bai?” Da Huang lay on the ground, barking twice as he looked at Bai Ya.

Before, Da Huang could still stay outside, but now he spent most of his time in the first-floor living room, which was cramped and uncomfortable. He could only go out if someone took him.

But there was nothing to be done about it; they would have to wait for the military’s arrangements later. After all, as his rank got higher and his size got larger, he couldn’t stay here forever; it was too terrifying.
