Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

30: Chapter 30 The Cemetery in the Back Mountain, The Old Wolf’s PlanAfterward, Bai Xuan asked about his situation after death.

The grave was on the mountain, and they would go to pay respects every Qingming Festival. The body had long since turned into ashes that needed to be sent to the crematorium for cremation.

Bai Xuan was mentally prepared for this and could accept it.

Bai Xuan planned to go to the back mountain that night to find his grave.

Because of the outbreak of mutant beasts on the mountain, it had been cordoned off by the military, and one could not approach. However, none of this had any effect on Bai Xuan, who could come and go as he pleased.

”Mom is coming back soon, do you really not want to go see her?” Bai Ya asked.

”Just taking a look from afar will be enough.” Bai Xuan put down his phone and shook his head gently.

”Alright then.” Bai Ya knew what Bai Xuan was worried about; it was nothing more than the fear that their mother wouldn’t be able to keep her mouth shut, or would trust others too easily, inviting unnecessary trouble.

Bai Ya greeted him and left the room.

Although she didn’t know what Bai Xuan had experienced, she could feel the changes in him; he had become more cautious and careful.

He must have gone through some difficult things.

Nature is cruel, survival of the fittest. Furthermore, today is different from the past; the originally protected animals have lost their protected status and are seen by humans as thorns in their sides. In such a situation, how could he not be vigilant?

Night fell, and the bright moon hung in the sky.

Bai Xuan had already left home and was standing on a utility pole not far away, looking in the direction of his front door, as if waiting for someone.

After a while, a middle-aged woman rode an electric scooter home with meat and vegetables, and Dahuang went up to greet her, wagging its tail.

The middle-aged woman smiled kindly and reached out to stroke Dahuang’s head:

”Dahuang, are you hungry again?”

Dahuang nodded, wagging its tail happily: ”Woof woof.”

”Alright, alright, I’ll go get you something to eat right now.”

The middle-aged woman smiled kindly, then carried the food inside the gate.

Seeing this scene, Bai Xuan’s eyes moistened.

He really wanted to go up immediately and tell his mom that he was Bai Xuan.

But for safety reasons, it was better for as few people as possible to know.

In the end, Bai Xuan did not approach. He stood quietly on the utility pole, watching the scene before him. Dahuang discovered Bai Xuan and barked ”woof woof” twice at him.

Bai Xuan nodded gently in response.

He needed to become stronger so that those difficulties could be solved easily.

After a while, Bai Xuan flapped his wings and left, heading towards the back mountain of the town.

Bai Xuan’s mom seemed to have sensed something. After pouring food for Dahuang, she looked into the distance:

”Is it my imagination?”

In a daze, she seemed to have seen the figure of her late son.

”Woof woof.” Dahuang looked up, but Bai Xuan was nowhere to be seen.

”Dahuang, hurry up and eat, eat more to grow.”

The military had previously told her about Dahuang’s situation; it would grow larger and stronger, and it was a good specimen. The military would vigorously train Dahuang, and there was no need to worry about food; the state would provide it, telling her not to be stingy and to satisfy Dahuang’s appetite.

At first, she was very worried and called the police immediately for her daughter’s safety. Later, after a series of tests and Bai Ya’s application, Dahuang was brought back.

On the back mountain, Soldiers were on high alert, sealing off the area.

Bai Xuan flew over from high altitude and entered the back mountain.

He used his divine sense to investigate the situation on the back mountain. There were many Tier 1 mutant beasts; the highest level was a Tier 1, Rank 5 wild boar. It was massive, and in the back mountain, no mutant beast was its match.

There were also many venomous snakes, scorpions, and centipedes, all of considerable size.

Bai Xuan arrived at his graveyard. Looking at the grave with his name carved on it, he had to say it looked quite nice, and the location was good too, offering a view of the whole town.

A gentle breeze brushed his face, making him feel refreshed.

Bai Xuan stood on the tombstone, overlooking the town’s buildings. With his sharp vision, he could see pedestrians and mutant beasts. Most of the mutant beasts that could remain in the town were pets, while others were rats in the sewers, insects, aquatic creatures, and so on.

Suddenly, bursts of gunfire and artillery sounded from the foot of the mountain, tat-tat-tat, boom-boom-boom.

Immediately after, there were the roars and screams of beasts; the howling of wolves and the squealing of pigs echoed through the sky, one after another.

Bai Xuan was not surprised by this; such things were inevitable.

Either humans would enter the back mountain to eliminate some mutant beasts, or the mutant beasts would want to break this control, uniting to counterattack and break through into human territory.

To treat them as they treated others, letting humans also experience their pain and fear.

There were two large ethnic groups on the back mountain: wild boars and black wolves. Wild boars reproduced very quickly, giving birth to several, or even over a dozen, at a time. With the revival of spiritual energy, this situation would only accelerate, and their numbers would continue to grow.

Thus, the food required would also increase, and the humans down the mountain were the best food. However, humans had guns and artillery, with firepower suppression, so they couldn’t get out at all. In the early stages, they couldn’t even get close. Now they could get close, but they were still being beaten miserably.

They were simply not on the same level. So what if the Wild Boar King could withstand bullets? There were also artillery shells and a series of other weapons; the Wild Boar King could not withstand such attacks.

Under this barrage of firepower, other mutant beasts fell one after another; corpses piled up like mountains, and blood flowed like rivers.

Human weapons were like meat grinders, mercilessly slaughtering them.

”Why are they coming in my direction?” Bai Xuan’s tone carried displeasure.

With such a large group, what if they damaged his grave?

This grave was not cheap; it must have cost a lot of money. Precisely because of this, Bai Xuan didn’t want his grave to be destroyed.

”Forget it, it’s better not to expose myself for now.” Bai Xuan flapped his wings and flew into the air, preparing to leave and not get involved.

Suddenly, a large group of bats came toward him, a vast, pitch-black swarm, comparable to his own size.

Bai Xuan beat his wings and flew to a higher altitude.

Those bats were pitch black, blending into the pitch-black night.

They were heading in the direction of human habitation:

”Kill! Eat all those damn humans!”

”They think that by surrounding the back mountain, they can control us? They are underestimating us too much.”

”Well said. Those humans are arrogant; they would never imagine that we would devise a strategy, and those on the ground are just to attract their attention. As long as we enter the human settlement and wreak havoc,”

”The humans will inevitably divert some manpower to stop us, then those on the ground can surge through the blockade in one go and enter human territory directly!”

”Hahaha, as expected of the strategy devised by Old Bei, it is truly extraordinary!”

The noisy voices reached Bai Xuan’s ears. Hearing this, his eyes turned cold.

His family was still in the town. In this situation, Bai Xuan definitely had to stop them, even if it meant exposing his identity!

He absolutely could not let his family be in any danger.
