Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

21: Chapter 21 Bai Xuan intervenes to heal the injuries.Huang Zhiyu held a compound bow, pulling it to its full draw. The steel arrow, its tip gleaming with a cold light, was aimed directly at Huzi’s heart. He released the shot.

With a ’whoosh’, the arrow tore through the air, piercing through Huzi’s side and leaving a trail of blood. After passing through Huzi’s body, the arrow continued its flight, piercing through several large trees before finally coming to a stop.

Huzi looked down at the blood oozing from its chest, its anger flaring even higher. Although the arrow had not pierced its heart, the arrowhead was designed with blades that deployed upon impact, causing immense damage. Huzi was in great pain.

If it wasn’t treated in time, it would likely bleed to death within three hours.

”Missed.” After saying this, Huang Zhiyu took another arrow from the quiver on his back.

This compound bow had a draw weight of three hundred pounds; an ordinary person would never be able to pull it, but Huang Zhiyu was a martial artist and could draw it with ease.

Furthermore, the arrows were forged from a special steel alloy, making them incredibly hard. If they were coated with poison or strapped with explosives, their destructive power would be even greater.

It was precisely because of this that he could pierce through Huzi’s body; ordinary compound bows would, at most, pierce a little, failing to break through its defenses.

”Don’t fire, let me finish it off!” Cheng Kun jumped down from the off-road vehicle, gripping his long saber with both hands. He activated the spirit stone and demon core, and the blade became coated in a layer of spiritual energy, making it even sharper—capable of slicing through iron like mud.

”Don’t be reckless! You can’t beat a Siberian Tiger in close-quarters combat!” the captain shouted urgently.

They were currently suppressing the Siberian Tiger with firepower, but that didn’t mean they could defeat it in close-quarters combat.

”Don’t worry, it’s just bluffing now. In reality, it’s terrified and hanging on by a thread!”

Cheng Kun took off, sprinting toward Huzi. He wanted to deliver the finishing blow to the tiger, then take a photo to show off.

”Provide cover for Cheng Kun!” the captain sighed helplessly.

The other team members held rifles and light machine guns, firing continuously at Huzi!

Huzi let out a roar: ”Roar!”

Braving the hail of gunfire, it pounced toward the charging Cheng Kun!

Cheng Kun performed a slide, passing underneath Huzi. He slashed upward with his long saber, carving a bloody wound.

Fortunately, the angle wasn’t deep enough to slice open its belly; otherwise, its internal organs would have spilled out, and it would have been beyond saving.

However, Huzi was now in a dire state. Its eyes were filled with anger and exhaustion, and it collapsed to the ground, panting heavily as blood continued to gush from its wounds.

Suddenly, the off-road vehicle let out a series of shrill alarms. The captain and his team immediately became vigilant, scanning their surroundings.

A gust of wind swept through, sending dust and leaves flying.

”What’s going on?” the captain asked, looking toward the source of the sound.

He froze in an instant. The drone had been sliced into pieces, and as for Cheng Kun... it went without saying; blood sprayed out like a fountain. He finally collapsed to the ground, lifeless, meeting his end right there!

”Cheng Kun!”

”What the hell happened! Who killed Cheng Kun!”

”That thing is nearby! Everyone stay on high alert, don’t let your guard down!”

The captain quickly tried to steady the team’s morale as the thermal imaging equipment scanned desperately for traces of the mysterious creature.

The captain watched the screen when suddenly a large red dot appeared. Realizing something, he shouted: ”It’s above us!”

They all looked up in unison, and what met their eyes was a massive eagle, its wingspan over ten meters wide, blotting out the sky and sun.

The area they were in plunged into darkness as the sunlight was blocked.

But Bai Xuan’s speed was too fast; they couldn’t react in time.

Its dark red Sharp Talons instantly ended several lives. With a flurry of attacks, its sharp Eagle Claw harvested their lives as easily as cutting through melons and vegetables!

The protective gear they wore was completely useless.

In their panic, they fired wildly at Bai Xuan, but the bullets hitting its feathers were like candy, failing to cause even the slightest damage.

In less than ten seconds, only the captain remained alive; the others were all dead, their bodies left in pieces, intestines spilling out—a gruesome sight.

The captain hadn’t fared much better; he had suffered severe fractures, his intestines and internal organs were spilling out, and he was covered in blood, on the verge of death.

He stared at Bai Xuan with shocked eyes, wanting to curse, but he couldn’t get the words out.

Bai Xuan destroyed the equipment on the off-road vehicle, as well as the cameras and walkie-talkies attached to their helmets.

Bai Xuan’s gaze was cold as it looked down at the captain:

”You shouldn’t have provoked me time and time again.”

Upon hearing Bai Xuan speak human language, the captain’s jaw nearly dropped. Had they evolved to this point, speaking the Dragon Kingdom’s language so fluently?

In the end, Bai Xuan finished off the captain and swallowed them all. It gained a small amount of evolution points—a mere drop in the bucket for its next evolution!

Bai Xuan had now discarded those morals, its stance firmer than ever. They wanted to kill it, so it would never be soft-hearted. Even if the other party was...

Initially, Bai Xuan had felt that as long as it didn’t provoke humans and didn’t attract attention, it could live in peace, but such matters were inevitable after all.

The mountain range had long been under human control. No matter how much Bai Xuan tried to hide, its existence would eventually be discovered, and that would be followed by ruthless extermination—they would not allow a mutated creature like Bai Xuan to exist!

Since that was the case, Bai Xuan could only cast aside the shackles binding it and completely become a beast—a ferocious bird of prey—and see it through to the end!

It would never sit idly by and wait for death, allowing itself to be slaughtered!

After finishing them off, Bai Xuan shrank its body and searched the off-road vehicle for medical supplies like hemostatic bandages.

It eventually found some bandages and thin ropes; it didn’t know how to use the other items, so it left them behind.

”Brother Bai, is it really you?” Huzi asked with a smile as it looked at Bai Xuan.

”Don’t talk. You’re seriously injured. Let me use my spiritual energy to stop the bleeding first.”

Bai Xuan injected spiritual energy into Huzi’s body, covering its wounds to stop the bleeding, while using its divine sense to inspect the internal injuries.

The injuries were severe; there were many rocket fragments and hundreds of bullets inside.

There was a huge gash on its belly that was difficult to stop from bleeding, but Bai Xuan still did its best to suture it with the thin rope, then used spiritual energy to stem the blood flow.

Its lungs had been pierced, making breathing difficult. Bai Xuan covered the lungs with spiritual energy to temporarily stabilize the injury; if it had been any later, Huzi likely would have died.

”Brother Bai, I know the extent of my injuries. Go check on Little Hei; its injuries should be lighter.”

Huzi coughed up a large mouthful of blood. Having lost too much blood, its eyelids grew heavy and its consciousness blurred, and it felt an urge to just drift off to sleep.

”Don’t you dare sleep! If you fall asleep, you’ll never wake up again!” Bai Xuan kicked Huzi’s head and scolded it.

I’ve worked so hard to stabilize your injuries; you want to die now? No way!

”Understood.” Huzi managed a faint smile.

”I’m going to check on Brother Hei, then I’ll go find some herbs and food for you. Hang in there.”

”Oh, and hold this in your mouth.” Bai Xuan spat out a palm-sized spirit stone—a scrap piece from that giant medium-grade spirit stone from before.

It would help Huzi recover its spiritual energy.

”It’s a bit gross, can’t you...”

”No room for negotiation.” Bai Xuan pried open Huzi’s mouth.

It first shoved the spirit stone and demon core from Cheng Kun and his long saber into Huzi’s mouth, then pushed them down into its stomach to let it absorb and consume them to replenish its blood energy, while keeping the medium-grade spirit stone in its mouth to maximize energy replenishment.
