Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

24: Chapter 24 The Border of the Dragon Kingdom, the Neighboring MountainsDragon Kingdom border.

Bai Xuan reduced its size to be about the size of an ordinary Goshawk.

It flew high in the sky, looking down at the forest below.

During this time, Bai Xuan took out a bunch of drones and cameras.

Blackie flew above the forest, guiding Tiger.

The border line was guarded by Soldiers, and to avoid alerting the enemy, Bai Xuan found a gap in the patrols for Tiger to cross the border.

Blackie and Bai Xuan didn’t have to worry much, as they had the advantage of Flight and could just fly over from high altitude.

Tiger, however, could not fly and was huge, making it easy to be spotted, so it had to sneak in quietly.

Tiger leaped over the razor wire fence and entered the neighboring country.

It quickly darted into the forest, with Blackie listening to Bai Xuan’s instructions to guide Tiger.

After a while, Bai Xuan, Blackie, and Tiger reached the summit, overlooking the dense forest below, which was endless, like a green ocean.

”The rest of the way is up to you; just keep heading north.”

Bai Xuan stood on Tiger’s massive body, looking toward the direction of the Dragon Kingdom.

”Little Bai, aren’t you coming with us?” Blackie asked, puzzled.

The Xiaoxing Mountains were already controlled by Dragon Kingdom humans, and going back was dangerous.

”Brother Bai, you should come with us; staying alive is the most important thing.”

Tiger was also reluctant to leave the mountain range, but it couldn’t be harassed like this forever. If it encountered another human attack, it wouldn’t have such good luck to survive again.

Its injuries hadn’t fully healed; under its fur were bullet hole scars, and its bones, muscles, and lungs hadn’t recovered, which severely affected its combat power. It would take some time to fully heal.

Blackie’s injuries were much lighter and had mostly recovered.

”I have things to take care of. Once I’m done, I’ll come find you.”

During this time, Bai Xuan had been devouring mutated creatures, keeping a close eye on human movements, and finding food for Tiger and Blackie to bring back. It took seven full days of recuperation before Tiger could stand up and walk, and another three days before it could run.

Then they left the mountain range and arrived here.

”In that case, take care, Little Bai. We’ll wait for you over there.” Seeing that Bai Xuan had made up its mind, Blackie didn’t try to persuade it further, only telling it to be safe.

”Brother Bai, I have a favor to ask of you.”

”Tell me.”

”My mother and older brother are in the neighboring mountain range. If you encounter them, please don’t hurt them. If possible, bring them away and let them come find me...”

”I will do my best.”

”Thank you, Brother Bai, thank you, Brother Bai. That will be a huge help.”

Tiger was overjoyed after hearing Bai Xuan’s reply.

Tiger wanted to find them too, but its massive size made it easy to be spotted. Without Bai Xuan and Blackie, it probably would have been killed before leaving the central area.

Afterward, Tiger described some of its mother’s and brother’s characteristics to Bai Xuan so it would be easier to recognize them.

Even if Bai Xuan couldn’t bring them out of the mountain range, that was fine, as long as it didn’t eat them.

They had both witnessed Bai Xuan’s appetite; it ate far more than they did.

”I’m leaving. Goodbye.” After guiding them, Bai Xuan flapped its wings, preparing to leave.

”Brother Bai, you must stay alive and come find us!” Tiger shouted.

”I will.” Bai Xuan replied.

With that, it accelerated, flew to a height of a thousand meters, and headed toward the mountain range.

”Let’s go too.” Seeing Bai Xuan leave, Blackie prepared to depart as well.

With Blackie’s help, Tiger’s movements would be harder to detect, making it much safer. In other words, Blackie was Tiger’s other pair of eyes.

Bai Xuan had broken through to the First Order, Ninth Stage three days ago.

Advancing to the Second Order required two thousand evolution points.

Without an opportunity, it wouldn’t be able to advance for a while.

Bai Xuan planned to enter the core of the Daxing Mountain Range to search for opportunities, and incidentally, help Tiger look for its mother and brother.

Once it reached the Second Order and had the ability to protect itself in human territory, Bai Xuan planned to go see its relatives.

At this moment, Bai Xuan soared in the blue sky, looking down at the forest below:

”It seems this place is also controlled by humans.”

They monitored the forest constantly; once a mutant creature group reached a certain size, it would be wiped out. Some rare First Order creatures would be captured—the fierce ones used for research, and the docile ones raised in captivity.

These mutated creatures could naturally become partners, but the dominant party had to be human; once they broke free from control, they would be killed.

Gradually, Bai Xuan arrived at a human military camp. Reinforced concrete walls were built around it, with machine guns mounted on top, and mortars and rocket launchers placed on the ground. Soldiers were on guard, and the defense was tight. Faced with such firepower, it was a problem for mutated creatures to even get within a hundred meters.

Inside the walls, there were many military tents, and houses were being built, suggesting they intended to stay for a long time.

Armored vehicles, tanks, transport trucks, off-road vehicles, helicopters, drones, and trucks transporting military supplies, food, and so on—there were a lot of them.

It looked like a bit of an overkill, like using cannons to hit birds, but for the long term, it was very necessary. After all, who knew when the Aura Tide would come again without warning, and they needed to be able to assemble and mobilize immediately.

It was also to deal with future mutated creatures; making preparations early was always good, so as not to be caught off guard and have to scramble at the last minute, which would be too late.

Bai Xuan circled at an altitude of three thousand meters. Combined with its reduced size and the color of its feathers, it was indeed very difficult to spot.

It could see the situation inside the walls clearly, and at the same time, it felt a massive amount of aura. It was very familiar—the aura emitted by mid-grade spirit stones.

”It really makes me drool, but this isn’t something I can covet, sigh.”

But with such powerful treasures, how could they allow mutated creatures to obtain them, let alone let them grow unscrupulously?

If mutated creatures were allowed to obtain them without control, the mountain range would probably have thousands of First Order mutated creatures, and even Second Order ones were possible.

Bai Xuan’s own growth had also been affected. Without humans controlling the numbers, Bai Xuan would have already stepped into the Second Order level. After all, with more mutated creatures and spirit stones, the evolution points Bai Xuan obtained from devouring would naturally be much higher.

Plus, being injured and having to hide from surveillance wasted a lot of time.
