Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

4: Chapter 4 Revenge and Animal CommunicationIt’s time for revenge.

Bai Xuan rose, flapped his wings, and flew out of the cave.

The current Bai Xuan now had the ability to deal with two adult Goshawks alone.

And so, Bai Xuan headed towards the old nest of the Goshawk couple.

The forest at night was exceptionally silent. Bai Xuan, relying on his superior night vision, flew through the pitch-black forest.

Before long, Bai Xuan arrived near the Goshawk nest.

The Goshawk father stayed in the nest, standing guard to prevent attacks from other predators.

The Goshawk mother, on the other hand, went out to find food to bring back for the chicks, taking turns hunting with the Goshawk father.

Nowadays, the two eaglets’ feathers were gradually filling out. It wouldn’t be long before they could take Flight, leave the nest, and forage on their own.

Bai Xuan gradually approached the Goshawk nest, and along with it came a pleasant surprise.

Insightful Eye identified that the Goshawk father had already stepped into the Secondary Stage, First Tier.

[Race]: Adult Mutant Goshawk.

[Level]: Secondary Stage, First Tier.

This was an unexpected delight.

Bai Xuan unconsciously increased his Flight speed a bit.

The Goshawk father sensed danger approaching. Following the sound, what met his eyes was a pair of enormous Sharp Talons directly piercing his body. Taken completely by surprise, he couldn’t react at all.

The Goshawk father let out a sharp cry. His body struggled instinctively, trying to flee.

But Bai Xuan gave him no chance, directly crushing his heart. His body fell to the ground, convulsing continuously. The Goshawk father was dead.

This was merely the instinctive muscle twitching after death.

The two young Goshawks, seeing the enormous Goshawk before them, were terrified. Their bodies trembled uncontrollably as they instinctively retreated, stopping only at the edge of the nest.

They couldn’t fly yet, but facing such a mortal danger, the older eaglet flapped his wings, leaped, and flew out of the nest.

His first Flight was quite comical, with wings flapping wildly.

Bai Xuan didn’t give him a chance to escape, directly flying behind him and using his Sharp Talons to grab the older eaglet and bring him back to the nest.

The younger eaglet trembled with fear but still let out sharp, piercing cries, trying to scare Bai Xuan away.

”Get away, get away!”

”Don’t come any closer!”

Through Animal Communication, Bai Xuan could understand what they were saying and what they meant to express.

But in Bai Xuan’s eyes, they were as weak as ants, easily crushed.

Bai Xuan’s gaze was ice-cold as he looked at these two young Goshawks. In just ten short days, he had gone from being the bullied, unfavored eaglet to the existence that now made them tremble in fear. Killing them was as easy as turning over his hand.

Bai Xuan wouldn’t talk about blood being thicker than water. Just as it was brutally from the start—survival of the fittest, the strong prey on the weak. Since he was stronger than them, they could only become his food.

Bai Xuan didn’t kill them outright. Instead, he used his beak to tear off their flesh alive and eat it, letting them die in agony, just as he had once felt despair and unwillingness.

The Goshawk father was already dead, lying motionless on the nest. He would never have imagined in death that he would be killed by his own child, and by the third-born, the one he had held the least hope for, believing it couldn’t survive.

Gradually, Bai Xuan finished eating the two young Goshawks, gaining a total of 1.2 evolution points.

Next was the Goshawk father. Bai Xuan feasted heartily, eating until his beak was covered in blood, ultimately gaining 2 evolution points.

After eating his fill, Bai Xuan flew to another large tree, hiding among the dense leaves, lying in wait for the Goshawk mother to return with food.

He hoped the Goshawk mother had also stepped into the Secondary Stage, First Tier.

That way, Bai Xuan could obtain more evolution points, and the Secondary Stage flesh would also be very helpful to himself.

After some time, the Goshawk mother hurriedly returned to the nest.

Her vision was excellent. After seeing the bones on the nest, she rushed back without stopping.

After confirming they were the bones of the Goshawk father and her two children...

...she was heartbroken. After raising them with such painstaking effort for so long, to just be killed like that.

How could she accept this outcome? She let out a long, mournful cry:

”Who killed my children?!”

Bai Xuan sensed the Goshawk mother’s pain through Animal Communication, but he did not show mercy because of it. Activating Insightful Eye, the Goshawk mother’s information appeared before his eyes:

[Race]: Mutant Goshawk.

[Level]: Secondary Stage, First Tier.

The Goshawk mother’s body size was much larger than the Goshawk father’s.

Body length 80 centimeters, wingspan two meters. She was already capable of challenging, even killing, some large birds of prey.

Bai Xuan moved, attacking towards the Goshawk mother.

The Goshawk mother’s perception was more acute. Sensing the threat, she quickly retreated tactically to assess the situation.

What met her eyes was a Goshawk considerably larger than herself.

The Goshawk mother guessed it was this Goshawk before her who had killed her two children and her husband. Unforgivable!

Maternal love ignited her fighting spirit. She faced the difficulty head-on, determined to fight Bai Xuan to the death.

But clearly, she was no match for Bai Xuan.

Bai Xuan’s movements were faster and more agile, his vision sharper. He could discern his opponent’s next move and then respond and counterattack.

In less than a minute, the Goshawk mother was already defeated, her wing broken, bone protruding from the feathers.

”Originally, I didn’t want to kill you all, but there was no other way. You were the ones who acted too ruthlessly. This way, I also don’t need to consider any familial bonds of shared blood. Just die.”

Bai Xuan killed the Goshawk mother, making her a stepping stone for his own growth.

They were the ones who taught Bai Xuan the cruelty of the animal world. Since that was the case, for the sake of growing stronger and taking revenge, Bai Xuan killing them wasn’t so hard to understand.

After eating the Goshawk mother, he gained 2 evolution points.

Having eaten and drunk his fill, Bai Xuan left triumphantly.

Since he couldn’t sleep anyway, he might as well go hunt more prey.

...

The next day, Bai Xuan arrived at the crow’s dwelling place.

After a whole night of hunting, Bai Xuan discovered that Secondary Stage, First Tier animals were becoming increasingly numerous. There were even a few large mantises that had also stepped into the Secondary Stage, First Tier.

It all felt more complex than it appeared on the surface. After some time, he would need to go elsewhere to investigate and gather more information.

After one night apart, the crow had changed somewhat, but Bai Xuan’s changes were even greater, leaving the crow somewhat questioning its life. The crow cawed a few times:

”How did you get bigger again?”

Bai Xuan landed on the nest: ”Brother Crow, can you understand what I’m saying?”

Hearing Bai Xuan’s words, the crow’s pupils shook. After recovering, it quickly nodded heavily: ”I understand.”

”That’s good,” Bai Xuan replied.

Both parties could understand the meaning of each other’s calls.

Barrier-free communication. Only after activating the Animal Communication ability could both parties understand. It was quite user-friendly.

”By the way, Brother Crow, why did you save me that day?” Bai Xuan wanted to clarify the doubt in his heart.

The crow was his savior. Bai Xuan would not harm him.

”This... actually, that day I was looking for a helper. You were a pretty good choice.”

The crow hesitated for a moment before speaking the truth.

He sensed that the world was about to change and urgently wanted to find teammates to deal with the impending catastrophe. He was born with the ability to sense disasters.

Coupled with his inexplicable evolution, whether it was his brain or his body, both had greatly improved. He could think of more things.

During this period, he had also been searching for suitable teammates to jointly face the coming catastrophe.

And Bai Xuan was of Goshawk lineage, a medium-sized bird of prey, and still a juvenile. If he could become a capable assistant, it would be a great help to him.

Besides, it was just a few small worms. Low risk, high reward. Why not do it?
