Starting As a Young Eagle, I Evolve Into an Ice Beast

33: Chapter 33 Working Day and Night to Defend the Country”Can you understand what I’m saying?”

The officer tried to communicate with Bai Xuan.

Bai Xuan looked at him for a moment, then turned his head and flew away.

He didn’t go out of his way to harm them.

Bai Xuan didn’t want his family to see him kill anyone.

At the same time, this was still his hometown, and he held some feelings for it, more or less.

He would let them off this time, but if they pushed Bai Xuan too far, he would kill them without hesitation.

”That was truly terrifying.” The officer looked down at his still-trembling arm and the heavy sniper rifle that had been crushed flat.

If that claw had struck him, he certainly would have died without a chance of survival.

The officer felt fear in his heart; it wasn’t just because Bai Xuan had crushed the sniper rifle, but because of the chill and killing intent radiating from his body.

It felt as if he would be torn to shreds the next second.

”Sir, are you alright?” A Soldier stepped forward to shield the officer, not daring to lower his guard in the slightest; they didn’t want what just happened to occur again.

”I’m fine.” The officer waved his hand.

”Then what should we do now?”

”Just report it truthfully.”

”Oh right, what about those reporters...”

”Block the news about that strange Goshawk to avoid causing panic among the public.”

The officer felt it was very tricky; after all, something this big happened, and it would be hard to suppress, but he could only try his best to block the information.

”Yes, I’ll get right on it.”

Little did they know, someone had already started a live stream, but it was quickly shut down. However, they didn’t give up, doing their best to record what happened tonight and post it online.

”Damn, have mutant creatures really evolved to this point?”

”It’s truly terrifying; I’m afraid humanity’s status as the hegemon won’t last.”

”That’s not necessarily true. Even if they evolve to be powerful, they are ultimately flesh and blood. As long as the firepower is sufficient, they can be killed in minutes.”

”But the Aura Tide started not long ago, and they’ve already evolved to this extent—fearless of bullets, thick-skinned, and possessing infinite strength. Humanity is currently facing an unprecedented blow.”

”I heard that several countries have already fallen, becoming a paradise for mutant creatures. You can’t see a single living person in the entire country; it’s all mutant creatures.”

”Given the current situation in the Dragon Kingdom, we have already controlled the mutant creatures and are reducing their numbers. At the same time, we have mastered a large amount of Aura resources, and the number of martial artists is increasing day by day. Don’t worry, the Dragon Kingdom will never fall.”

Opinions online differed; some felt panic, while others were excited or calm and composed, believing that humanity was invincible.

In the military base.

”Second-order! This is definitely a second-order mutant creature!”

Experts, scholars, and high-ranking officers looked at the video sent from the battlefield, their tones excited.

”Why does this Goshawk look so familiar?”

”It can change its body size, knows how to disguise itself, and has terrifying strength, even mastering a cold aura. Could it be the one from the Xiaoxing Mountains?”

”I think it’s possible. Those powerful mutant creatures within the Dragon Kingdom are all on record. This flying creature is a type of hawk, and that Goshawk from the mountains has been missing for a while. This makes sense.”

”Having evolved to the second order, it knows it provoked us in the Daxing Mountain Range, so after evolving, it left the mountains without stopping, heading to other areas suitable for survival. If it heads to a neighboring country, we might really be unable to do anything about it.”

”While it is still within the Dragon Kingdom, we must capture it as quickly as possible!”

As they discussed, an elderly expert asked a question that had been puzzling him:

”Why did it let that commander go? And why did it help us, without harming humans?”

”Maybe it didn’t want to provoke us anymore.”

The elderly expert shook his head slightly:

”That possibility is low. It even dared to rob the army escorting the Aura Stones; what else would it not dare to do? Knowing it had already angered us, why would it let those people go in such a situation? This is too contradictory.”

”Not being killed is better than being killed. It’s possible it didn’t want to waste time and just wanted to run away. Those are the only two possibilities.”

The elderly expert once again denied the other person’s claim:

”No, given its strength and speed, it wouldn’t take long to finish off those Soldiers. There must be some hidden reason; we must find it out.”

”It can shrink its body, coming and going without a trace; how are we supposed to find it? Furthermore, it is very smart; we can’t guess what it’s thinking at all. Now that mutant creature riots are happening all over the country, we shouldn’t put too much attention on this strange bird.”

That person gave a wry smile.

”What you say makes sense, but if we let it evolve, there will be endless trouble. I believe we must deal with it, but we cannot put too much attention on one mutant creature. We need to consider the big picture. Send some people to track it, and once its location is locked, leave it to the local military forces to solve. There is no need to waste too much energy trying to understand the hidden reasons behind it.”

”I agree.”

”I also agree.”

Most people agreed with this statement.

After all, manpower and production lines are urgently needed right now. Wasting too much energy and advanced weapons to kill one mutant creature is both a waste of time and money.

Now, a large number of military factories are starting up and being built, producing weapons, bullets, and so on day and night. Personnel also need training before they can start working. Time is tight, and we need to race against time to get things done.

”Forget it, this is the only way.” The elderly expert sighed.

If it were just a small number, we could still investigate and capture them, and we could afford the cost. But now, mutant creatures are increasing day by day across the country, and riots are becoming more and more frequent. The Dragon Kingdom is using military force to suppress them, driving them back into the mountains and forests or ruthlessly killing them.

The army is tensely deployed to various places, more and more Soldiers are enlisting, and veterans are being recalled one after another to join the fight.

After experiencing one Aura Tide, the Dragon Kingdom’s advantage has decreased significantly, but for now, it is still able to suppress and control the numbers.

The town residents returned home, feeling uneasy.

Many people had not yet calmed down from the fear.

Bai Ya was using a damp rag to clean Da Huang’s body. The water basin on the ground was dyed red with fresh blood, and the smell of blood was pungent.

Da Huang had fought with the black wolf and sustained many injuries. Its fur was stained with blood—some splattered from other mutant creatures, and some from its own wounds.

The most serious was the half-meter-long wound on its leg. By the time it was sent back, it had already been stitched up to stop the bleeding, cleaned with medicinal water, bandaged, and treated perfectly.

During this time, a Soldier also fed Da Huang some food and praised it for being very brave, making Da Huang feel wonderful inside, and its wounds didn’t hurt as much anymore.

”Da Huang, we must work hard to become stronger, protect Mom, and contribute to the country!”

After experiencing this incident, Bai Ya felt her own weakness and helplessness in the face of disaster.

Although she was very weak now and wasn’t even enough to fill the gap between a mutant creature’s teeth, this did not crush Bai Ya. Instead, it stirred up her fighting spirit; she must become a martial artist as soon as possible, contribute to the country, and defend her homeland!
