Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1100: Chapter 1096: Nemesis of the Police Station

”Hello, thank you for your phone report. I have registered the situation you mentioned, and an officer will handle it. Is there anything else you need?”

The person on the other end sounded rather perfunctory, which made Huo Sining a bit impatient: ”These people are just playing guerrilla warfare on the street. If you can’t respond now, they will go elsewhere soon. How are you going to find them?”

The operator had never encountered a regular person with such a tough and nasty tone when calling the police and immediately got upset too: ”It’s our job to handle this, not yours to arrange! Who do you think you are?!”

Huo Sining was so angry she laughed: ”I might not be anybody special, but with you managing Chenghuang District like this, I’ve really witnessed it!”

With that, Huo Sining hung up and dialed Fu Yuanshan’s number without further ado.

After a short while, the call connected, and Fu Yuanshan’s somewhat surprised voice came through: ”Miss Huo, what made you think of calling me? I heard you went to study in Dongyang. When did you return to the country?”

Huo Sining was in no mood for pleasantries, her tone a bit harsh: ”Director Fu, I’m not here to catch up. It’s the end of the year, and your area doesn’t seem too peaceful. I was just strolling through Antique Street and saw people exploiting children to beg. I called your subordinate police station, and the officers won’t cooperate. Isn’t your work efficiency a bit too negligent?”

Fu Yuanshan was initially pleased to receive a call from Huo Sining, but hearing her barrage of questions made cold sweat break out on his forehead. His heart trembled, and he urgently tried to placate this irate lady. After finding out Huo Sining’s location, he wasted no time and called the Chenghuang District Police Station. Upon identifying who the previous operator was, he immediately started scolding them.

The operator was scolded harshly and finally heard Fu Yuanshan say: ”Is Huo Sining someone a small officer like you can provoke? She’s already in a good temper. If it were someone else, you’d be done today! Next time, use your brain when you act. Don’t think being a spoiled girl at home means you can offend anyone. If you accidentally hit a brick wall, not only you but even I will suffer the consequences!”

Saying this, Fu Yuanshan angrily hung up the phone. In the office, all the officers and even the director of the Chenghuang District Police Station looked displeased. The officers especially were silent as cicadas in winter, afraid the fire would spread to them.

The director was also angry; he pointed a finger at the operator intending to scold but swallowed the words back, grim-faced, as he quickly led two team leaders and several officers towards Antique Street.

The operator had been inexplicably scolded by Fu Yuanshan on the phone and now seeing the director personally responding to the incident made her realize the seriousness of the problem. She anxiously grabbed an old officer next to her and asked: ”Old Ma, did I cause a big problem? Who is this Huo Sining, to alarm Director Fu so quickly? Is this woman really powerful?”

Old Ma gave the operator a sympathetic look, shook his head, and said: ”I don’t know about her background, but you did get one thing wrong; it’s not exaggerated at all. If you had joined our police system last year, you would definitely have heard of this Miss Huo. She’s a troublemaker no one, not even Director Fu, dares to provoke.”

”Last year? Why last year?” The operator looked bewildered and confused.

Old Ma smiled and said: ”Last year, a major event happened in the S City Police Department. Director He of the Luwan District Police Station misused his power and arrested a young girl named Huo.”

”And then, guess what happened?”

The operator shook her head, curiously asking: ”What happened?”

Old Ma clicked his tongue and sighed: ”In less than half an hour, the police department received a system notification to immediately find this captured Miss Huo. Fu Yuanshan personally called each station inquiring if they had her, and if they did, they were to release her immediately.”

”Within two hours, she even alerted Secretary Su of the Municipal Committee, who directly sent Secretary Song down to handle the issue. Not long after, the Luwan District Police Station was surrounded by a group of military thugs.”

”In just a few short hours, she stirred up the military, political, and police circles. Do you think she’s powerful?”

The operator was instantly terrified. Even if she were naive, hearing Old Ma’s account made her realize that this woman named Huo was not someone she could afford to offend. With her abilities, one word could end the operator’s police career.

”Old Ma, what should I do? I think I’ve offended this woman. Do you think she’ll have the director give me a hard time, fire me, and kick me out?”

The operator’s face turned pale, her entire demeanor broken, speaking with a trembling voice.

Seeing the operator’s nervous look, Old Ma laughed, patted her shoulder, and said: ”Don’t worry, you’re just a junior officer. There’s no point in her worrying about you; it’d be beneath her. Given her temperament, it’s unlikely she’d go after you.”

Upon hearing this, the operator let out a sigh of relief, though Old Ma wasn’t done giving advice:

”But after this incident, you should learn a lesson. Gain wisdom from a loss. You’re new to this job, so watch, learn, and speak less. Be humble and seek advice. There are things you should and shouldn’t say. The workplace is far more complex than your past life as a student.”

The operator listened, lowered her head, and nodded slightly.

Old Ma couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, knowing that no matter how much he said, it wouldn’t easily change someone’s perspective. To truly change her, she had to experience a lesson herself. People only remember when it hurts.

Old Ma was indeed correct. Huo Sining had no intention of pursuing that operator further. After calling Fu Yuanshan, she met up with Su Qingqing and leisurely watched Su Qingqing pick out antiques at a stall. In less than ten minutes, the police arrived.

After questioning the two children, they caught two sneaky adults hiding in a corner nearby. The leading officer said something the two adults hesitated to explain, and the officers immediately sensed something was wrong, taking the two adults and children back to the station for questioning.
