Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1071: Chapter 1067: Returning Home

When the principal and the school director saw Nagayama Kaiyuki, their already pale faces instantly darkened, while the building supervisor looked at Nagayama Kaiyuki with a strange expression, disdain, disgust, sympathy, and a hint of schadenfreude flashing in his eyes.

Seeing the expressions of these people were off, Nagayama Kaiyuki wanted to ask something, but then the few policemen over there immediately reacted upon seeing him, and walked straight toward him: ”Are you Nagayama Kaiyuki?”

Nagayama Kaiyuki had been to the police station a while ago and was somewhat fearful of the Police Department people, so when he heard the police ask this, he dutifully nodded and said, ”Yes, I am Nagayama Kaiyuki.”

The policemen exchanged glances, and one of them immediately pulled out a pair of handcuffs from his pocket. Without waiting for Nagayama Kaiyuki to react, he directly cuffed his hands.

Nagayama Kaiyuki was instantly stunned, not knowing what was happening. Feeling the icy sensation on his wrists, his face turned a bit pale, and he urgently asked, ”Officer, what are you doing? Why are you arresting me? I haven’t done anything wrong. Last time’s smuggling incident, I was really framed, and that case is already closed, isn’t it? Did you arrest the wrong person? I...”

Before Nagayama Kaiyuki could finish his shouting, the officer pulled out an arrest warrant: ”Mr. Nagayama Kaiyuki, we received a report suspecting you of multiple cases involving indecency, rape of female students, and embezzlement. We have already obtained evidence from your office computer. Now please cooperate with us in our investigation by coming to the police station!”

Upon hearing the officer’s words, Nagayama Kaiyuki’s mind buzzed, instantly going blank. His lips trembled, wanting to defend himself, but seeing the officers over there taking out the computer host from the office, he realized the seriousness of the problem. The game was over, the evidence on that computer couldn’t be falsified, and there was no use in arguing.

It’s over, everything is over!

Five days later, when everything was settled, Huo Sining and the other students from S University boarded the plane back home.

Before leaving, she received another email from Zhen Ji Sha, containing only two words: thank you.

Huo Sining smiled and deleted the email without replying.

Because of that post and that video, Nagayama Kaiyuki’s defense was futile. Based on the clues from the post, the police did find relevant evidence on his personal computer, directly pointing to Nagayama Kaiyuki’s crimes. Coupled with public pressure, the Police Department in Dongdu filed the charges, and the court trial proceeded quickly, issuing the judgment soon after.

Nagayama Kaiyuki was charged with multiple crimes, including indecency, rape, and embezzlement, and sentenced to 27 years and 4 months in prison.

After Nagayama Kaiyuki was arrested, he naturally couldn’t supervise the biology department’s term-end assessments. The school promptly assigned a new teacher to head the grading of exams in the biology department. Huo Sining successfully received perfect scores in multiple subjects, marking the end of her three-month exchange journey with satisfaction.

As the plane took off from Dongyang, Huo Sining felt an unprecedented sense of satisfaction.

Several months of treasure-hunting, the night of the National Museum theft, and just days ago, the Awa Maru shipwreck adventure — in this short three-month exchange in Dongyang, her gains were indeed substantial.

Of course, once back home, Huo Sining’s immediate priority was to figure out how to handle the forty tons of gold in her storage ring.

”Troubled times for gold, prosperous times for antiques.” Now is a peaceful era, but with the expectation of inflation, gold prices are skyrocketing. Although not a professional gold trader, Huo Sining has a clear memory. In her past life, before her incident, Cyprus’s largest gold sell-off and the Federal Reserve’s secret manipulation caused gold prices to plummet, with domestic gold dropping from four or five hundred yuan per gram to below three hundred.

Because of the gold crash, many Huaxia aunts rushed to various gold stores, with some fanatics even taking over foreign streets, queuing to frantically buy gold.

This crazy action suddenly put Huaxia aunts on the world stage, showcasing to the world their super combat force.

Therefore, she must sell this batch of gold before the prices fall, or else she wouldn’t know how much she’d lose once prices drop.

However, based on the current market price of ordinary gold, Huo Sining estimated that the value of this forty tons of gold is at least tens of billions of RMB.

Such a large amount of gold poses a significant challenge to sell. While some gold shops buy back gold, with a quantity as large as forty tons, no domestic store could handle it, and without doubt, if she took out just a few gold bars, the authorities would investigate.

Moreover, if she sold it off piece by piece, it would take eons before it was sold, and by then, gold prices would have dropped.

Thus, Huo Sining could only look at the international market. Countries like America, France, and Italy have enormous gold reserves, and selling the gold to them at high prices would undoubtedly be her best choice.

However, she had never dealt with the foreign gold market before, and finding an institution to take over such a large amount of gold wouldn’t be easy. She didn’t understand foreign laws, but locally, such a massive gold transaction would surely attract the authorities’ attention. She just wanted to quietly sell the gold without inviting trouble.

Nonetheless, Huo Sining didn’t know at the time was that her batch of gold didn’t need to be so painstakingly sold abroad. As an exceptionally important strategic reserve, there is an equally significant demand for gold in Huaxia Country as well.

But with all the domestic rules and strict laws, she didn’t want to create extra problems. Moreover, with the myriad means of money laundering internationally, though she hadn’t personally witnessed it, she had heard of money with dodgy origins being cycled abroad, returning as impeccably legitimate funds.

With her gold, after a round in the international market and through financial institutions, it could be exchanged for US dollars or Euros, becoming legally clean funds — why not do it?

However, after she shared this idea with Gu Xu, it left him exasperated, at a loss whether to cry or laugh.

Gold is a hard currency, more effective than US dollars or Euros. The military always struggles to store more, they couldn’t possibly let Huo Sining send such a large amount of gold abroad!
