Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1083: Chapter 1079: Major Rank

Huo Sining really didn’t know what the officer meant. After Gu Xu sent her a message, she didn’t ask for more details. Now, hearing the officer’s implication, it seems she missed something.

She quickly took out her phone from her pocket and checked it. Sure enough, Gu Xu had sent her a few more messages that she hadn’t had the chance to look at.

She opened the messages and was stunned by what she saw.

”I forgot to tell you, having a military officer ID would make it much easier for you to recruit retired soldiers. Coincidentally, Falcon recently recruited new members, so I had Chief Lu help you get an officer ID, attached to my Falcon Troop.”

”I asked Old Qin to bring the ID to you, so you can just take it directly. Even though it doesn’t carry real authority, with this ID, the airport and Criminal Investigation Bureau won’t trouble you about carrying a gun on the plane.”

After reading the texts, Huo Sining was a bit bewildered, her mind unable to grasp it for a moment.

The officer’s expression remained normal as he took out a folder behind him, opened it, and handed the contents to Huo Sining one by one.

Huo Sining mechanically reached out to take them, only to be shocked by what the officer handed over.

Each document bore a red header, stamped with the military’s red seal, and the last item, a little blue-covered booklet, was an officer ID with an embossed steel seal. Upon opening it, clear black-and-white print showed the rank of Major.

Huo Sining looked a bit wooden, staring at the officer in disbelief before finally asking, ”Is this... officer ID real?”

The officer nodded: ”More real than gold, the number on it can be checked internally.”

Huo Sining held these documents and the officer ID, still unable to quite comprehend.

The Major rank was actually real? She just became an officer like that? And a Major?

This title seemed a bit out of place for Huo Sining. From childhood to adulthood, the only documents she ever had besides her ID were school IDs, and she never imagined she would suddenly become a Major one day, making her doubt the authenticity of it all as if dreaming.

Instinctively, she reached out to pull her hair, the sharp pain instantly bringing her back to reality.

She couldn’t help but chuckle, not caring about much else. Since the officer ID was arranged by Chief Lu and Gu Xu, it surely wouldn’t be fake. This item didn’t hold real authority anyway; it was just an added convenience for her future endeavors.

Thinking this way, Huo Sining’s shock gradually subsided, and she looked at the officer referred to as Old Qin by Gu Xu, asking, ”Considering today’s incident was so public, the media will definitely report it online. How will it be handled then?”

Old Qin’s face darkened, suddenly sitting upright, and announced loudly, ”Major, rest assured, this hijacking incident was indeed a secret mission from Falcon. You boarded the plane under superior orders. Before the plane left Dongdu, you already noticed three suspicious criminals, suspecting they might attempt a hijacking. Hence, you carried your gun on the plane to solve this hijacking crisis!”

Hearing Old Qin speak so seriously but falsely, Huo Sining couldn’t help but twitch her mouth.

She boarded the plane to execute a secret mission? This wasn’t nonsense, was it? She was just an exchange student returning with the school group, executing what secret mission?

However, Huo Sining wouldn’t say this aloud. With Gu Xu’s Falcon Troop as cover, her actions on the plane could be reasonably explained, and no one would continue to question her motives and intentions for carrying a gun.

Still, isn’t it too blatant and unjust for privilege and private gain to be used this way?

After hesitating for a while, Huo Sining finally stuffed the credentials back into her backpack, suddenly realizing something, and asked Old Qin, ”What’s your rank?”

Old Qin was taken aback for a moment, his eyes crinkling with a smile: ”Colonel.”

Huo Sining: ”...”

Even if this thing is real, she’s only a Major, yet a Colonel several ranks higher is here to receive her, and even saluted her, how...?

The fleeting arrogance in Huo Sining’s heart vanished instantly. She awkwardly looked at Old Qin, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Military hierarchy is clear; seeing someone of a higher rank, she should be the one saluting.

”Special circumstances require special handling, Major Huo. We’ll be colleagues from now on, supporting each other and looking out for one another!” Apparently guessing Huo Sining’s thoughts, Old Qin said with a smile, extending his hand in earnest.

Huo Sining twitched her lips but reached out to shake Old Qin’s hand.

From start to finish, the two soldiers sitting over there remained quietly, not even glancing this way, such self-control that Huo Sining truly admired.

The plane flew rapidly for over two hours and then landed at the Imperial Capital Airport. Just as it touched down, a shadow lunged onto the plane from outside the cabin door. Before Huo Sining could react, she was directly embraced by a tall figure.

After thoroughly inspecting his wife from head to toe, confirming no injuries, Gu Xu finally breathed a sigh of relief, holding Huo Sining tightly, as if surviving a disaster, burying his face in her shoulder, and whispered, ”You scared me to death. How could you encounter something just by taking a plane? If something happened to you, what would I do?”

Huo Sining’s face felt warm, considering there were other people on the plane and being held by Gu Xu like this was a bit improper, she intended to push him away. But as soon as she struggled slightly, Gu Xu seemed triggered, holding her tighter.

Helpless, Huo Sining glanced around, finding that Old Qin and the three officers who had been sitting were gone, leaving her and Gu Xu alone in the cabin. It seemed they tactfully made way for them upon seeing Gu Xu rush in.

Huo Sining let out a slight breath, knowing there was no one spectating, she felt more at ease. Seeing Gu Xu’s full-eyed anxiety and worry, she couldn’t push him away, so she hugged his waist, embedding herself in his embrace, quietly consoling him.

Gu Xu’s agitated mood gradually calmed down as he raised his head to glance at her, suddenly cupping her face, leaning down to seize her lips fiercely and kissed her.

Unable to move, Huo Sining slowly closed her eyes...
