Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1061: Chapter 1057: Guarding Vigilantly

It’s a pity that Nagayama Kaiyuki calculated everything with meticulous precision, but he didn’t anticipate that Zhen Ji Sha would be so drunk at the time that she couldn’t make out what had happened, let alone who the person behind her was.

”Teacher, I was really so drunk that day, my mind was in a haze, I wasn’t conscious at all, otherwise, I wouldn’t have... I’m not blaming you, but I really don’t know what happened. I was found by a classmate lying alone on a bench in the school woods. If that classmate hadn’t kindly brought me back to the dorm to sleep for the night, I might have frozen in the woods all night. If you don’t believe me, you can ask someone— I was really picked up by a biology student from the woods that night.”

Zhen Ji Sha appeared to be in a state of panic, but inside, she couldn’t help feeling a sense of schadenfreude.

She had indeed thought about reporting to the police, to have Nagayama Kaiyuki arrested, but she had no evidence, and she wasn’t assaulted by Nagayama Kaiyuki. Even if the police caught him, they wouldn’t be able to do anything.

However, she never expected that Nagayama Kaiyuki would actually get himself into trouble, being tied up and put on a boat, not to mention it’s a smuggler’s ship. Even if he gets out, he will have to bear the stigma of smuggling.

Zhen Ji Sha thought that something must have gone wrong that day in the office. Otherwise, given her drunken state, Nagayama Kaiyuki couldn’t have stopped halfway through doing such things to her. But when she woke up, nothing had happened, which was certainly unusual.

The only explanation was that someone else was hiding in the office at the time, someone who couldn’t stand seeing Nagayama Kaiyuki using force on her. That person knocked Nagayama Kaiyuki out, put him on that ship to South Africa, and in the process saved her. Perhaps unable to find a suitable place, they left her in the woods, where she was coincidentally found by that Huaxia exchange student and brought back to the dorm.

But she really didn’t know who that person was. Her mind was a muddle, unable to recall anything. It was as if her memory of that office event had simply blacked out, skipping straight to the next morning.

Nagayama Kaiyuki felt aggrieved, but seeing Zhen Ji Sha’s expression, it really didn’t look like she was lying. Plus, he clearly remembered Zhen Ji Sha’s state in the office. If she had been sober then, she wouldn’t have failed to resist his actions. Having drunk so much, it would have been strange if she could remain clear-minded.

Nagayama Kaiyuki couldn’t extract any useful information from Zhen Ji Sha and felt unwilling to give up. But, what else could he do? This thing was entirely untraceable so that he could only bottle up his anger.

His reputation was thoroughly ruined, and he could see the disdain in the eyes of his colleagues and even the students at school. The constant whispering only added fuel to his frustration. Coincidentally, the final exams were in two days, and Nagayama Kaiyuki’s fresh and old grievances suddenly funneled onto the ultimate target of this final exam, that Huaxia exchange student.

Nagayama Kaiyuki concentrated all his fury at Huo Sining. Without an outlet for his anger, he felt that if he was to suffer, then Huo Sining should suffer too. He didn’t see himself in the wrong; if anything, that female student should blame her bad luck for provoking him and running headlong into the muzzle of a gun, so all she could do was accept her rotten luck.

Nagayama Kaiyuki believed that by volunteering to handle the exam question setting, he could finally vent his grudge against the Huaxia exchange student who cost him his professorship title. However, he didn’t realize that this exam was nothing but a game for Huo Sining.

The exam day arrived quickly, and early that morning, Huo Sining walked into the examination hall with a relaxed and carefree expression.

Since learning from her teacher that Nagayama Kaiyuki was preparing the test questions and that they wouldn’t be within the standard test bank scope, many students felt uncertain about this final exam. As Huo Sining entered the exam room, she saw her biology classmates sitting anxiously, their faces clouded with worry.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh inwardly; Nagayama Kaiyuki had caused so much trouble, going through so much just to mess with her. But in the end, it was uncertain if he could actually succeed against her, while he had certainly made enemies of the other students. Though they dared not express their anger in front of him, behind his back, they complained bitterly and hated him to the core.

However, everyone is for themselves in such matters, and what other students felt was none of Huo Sining’s business; she had her own matters to focus on.

Huo Sining came in very late, almost at the last possible moment before the exam bell rang. As she expected, her seat was in the first row, the most conspicuous spot, making it impossible to cheat or peek at other top-performing students’ papers without the invigilator noticing.

It seemed that Nagayama Kaiyuki was very strict in guarding against her, and it was obvious that during the test, he would be the invigilator, watching her like a hawk.

Going to such lengths to set extra questions and seating her in the front row just to corner her, it was clear Nagayama Kaiyuki spared no effort in eliminating any chance for her to cheat.

Huo Sining couldn’t help the small smirk playing on her lips—so what if there are extra questions, if she’s seated in the first row, and if she’s being watched? If Nagayama Kaiyuki thought these measures could suppress her, he was too naïve.

Huo Sining entered the exam hall with nothing but her writing pens and tools for the test, not even carrying a bag. She just sat down as the exam bell rang, and at that exact moment, Nagayama Kaiyuki entered with a dark expression on his face.

The exam hall was silent, and all eyes turned toward Nagayama Kaiyuki.

Standing on the podium, Nagayama Kaiyuki sternly ordered, ”Prepare for the exam. All examinees, please expressly hand in any materials, electronic devices, or non-essential exam tools to the podium! I’m only going to say this once: if I catch anyone with these items during the test, regardless of whether you cheat or not, the exam will automatically receive a zero!”

As he spoke, Nagayama Kaiyuki glanced at Huo Sining, his eyes dark with anger. He was uninterested in other students’ reactions or expressions, focusing all his attention on Huo Sining.

The other students were apprehensive upon hearing this, and those with smaller nerves quickly handed over their backpacks, phones, and other items to the podium. Only Huo Sining remained seated, unmoved.

Nagayama Kaiyuki kept his gaze on Huo Sining; seeing that she didn’t hand anything over, he inwardly concluded she definitely intended to cheat, his eyes brimming with sarcastic disdain.

Huo Sining, calm and composed, met his gaze straight on, twirling her pen effortlessly between her fingers, slightly pulling up the corners of her mouth, wearing a subtle, enigmatic smile.
