Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1086: Chapter 1082: From the Miao Village

One of the security guards reached out to grab Qibao, who was startled and quickly hid behind Huo Sining like a frightened little deer.

Huo Sining hurriedly stopped the guard and awkwardly explained, ”Uh, big brother, this is a misunderstanding, I’m really sorry. This kid is my brother; he came here to find me. It’s my fault for forgetting to tell the gate guard. I’m truly sorry...”

The guards looked Huo Sining and Qibao over suspiciously but, given the homeowner’s claim, couldn’t insist further. They nodded and said hesitantly,

”Since it’s a misunderstanding, we won’t disturb you further. Ms. Huo, if you have any difficulties or issues, just notify us, and we’ll come to handle it promptly.”

Huo Sining nodded and quickly pulled Qibao into the yard.

It was obvious that earlier this kid, Qibao, must have been stopped by the security when trying to enter the villa, and only sneaked in later at night when he got a chance.

It was then that Huo Sining remembered seeing, from the house’s surveillance screen, this child anxiously pressing the doorbell while nervously glancing back, clearly afraid the security might catch and throw him out.

Once inside, Qibao didn’t cause any mischief, just quietly sat in the armchair. However, staring at the child and thinking of Yan Feng’s request, Huo Sining was at a loss on how to handle this situation.

”Qibao?” Huo Sining tried calling.

The child nodded, ”Sister Ning, you want to know where I came from, right? I came from H Province Miao Village.”

Huo Sining was stunned, ”How did you get here?”

Looking at the child named Qibao in front of her, Huo Sining was very curious. A six-year-old child, traveling alone from H Province to the Magic Capital to find someone, it’s remarkable he didn’t get lost, and managed to find her. She had to admit, this was a miracle.

Qibao raised his head and smiled smugly, ”I walked here.”

Huo Sining: ”...”

She looked at the ragged shoes and dirty sweater the child was wearing, feeling an inexplicable mix of heartache and helplessness.

She had never been married, never had experience with children, and this child, though appearing honest, was quite clever to have found her place alone. Just the courage it took was enough to give Huo Sining a headache.

While pondering how to handle this child, the child’s stomach suddenly growled, snapping Huo Sining back from her drifting thoughts.

The little one looked up at Huo Sining with a grievance, ”Sister, I’m hungry.”

Resigned, Huo Sining sighed, got up, and organized a dinner for the child. After eating, she drove him to a nearby supermarket to buy a set of changeable clothes.

After rushing back from the Imperial Capital during the day and seeing off Yan Feng and Auntie Li, she now had to bathe and coax this child to sleep, an exhausting day for Huo Sining. When all was finally done, she collapsed into bed and promptly fell asleep.

Before seven the next morning, there was a loud knock at Huo Sining’s bedroom door.

Startled awake, Huo Sining thought her house burglarized upon hearing the noise outside her room.

It took a moment for her to remember a little rascal had been added to her home since last night.

Though it was just seven, Qibao was already starving, shouting outside for breakfast.

Helplessly, Huo Sining realized that, if this were her old routine, she would never be up this early, yet now with a child suddenly in her life, her old schedules were obsolete.

Just thinking about having to wake early every morning to make breakfast gave Huo Sining a headache. Hearing Qibao’s relentless cries outside, she was nearly driven mad, frustratedly ruffling her hair before surrendering and climbing out of bed.

After breakfast, Huo Sining took the little rascal out, heading towards the city center.

With Qibao lacking clothes, Huo Sining decided to take him to the mall first to buy a few outfits. The torn sweater he wore yesterday was already tossed into the trash by Huo Sining.

In fact, the previous night after Qibao arrived at the villa, Huo Sining had already asked. Although children sometimes can’t explain things clearly, from Qibao, she learned that this little guy was a native Miao from Miao Village, living there since birth, and this was his first time leaving the village.

While lamenting over his parents’ significant carefreeness, allowing such a young muffin to travel to S City alone, being so neglectful, Huo Sining was also curious about the Spirit Pearl on Qibao’s forehead, wondering where he got it.

Unfortunately, this kid was too young to clearly explain the Spirit Pearl; he only knew it had been in his body since he was little, and he couldn’t articulate anything beyond that.

Perhaps due to the lack of outings while in the Miao Village, Qibao had never seen a supermarket or so much food. So when he entered the mall, he was exceptionally excited and found everything intriguing.

Seeing him drooling at everything, Huo Sining found it amusing, ”Whatever you like, take it, Sister will buy it for you.”

”Really?”

The little brat’s eyes lit up immediately, a wolfish hunger in his eyes as he looked at the snacks.

Receiving Huo Sining’s nod of approval, he instantly dashed towards the shelves, with Huo Sining pushing the cart behind him, placing everything he picked into it.

Even when the cart could hold no more, Qibao was still reluctant to stop. Watching the cart brimming with snacks, Huo Sining was torn between laughter and tears.

”These can last you a whole month. Let’s start with this lot, and after you finish them, we’ll buy more, okay?” Seeing Qibao reluctant to part with a big box of Oreos, Huo Sining could only try to persuade him.

Qibao looked down at the box, nodding slightly, and reluctantly placed it back.

Then Huo Sining took Qibao upstairs to Spring Department Store for clothes. Despite being young, once dressed in trendy foreign-style outfits, he looked quite dapper (Reader: Hey, what’s with that description!), with a T-shirt, jacket, jeans, plus a baseball cap, he looked quite sharp. Even the young shop assistant in the children’s clothing store was charmed, stars in her eyes.
