Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1078: Chapter 1074: Brute-Force Unlocking

Wait, destroy the lock?

Huo Sining had a sudden flash of inspiration, realizing something, and a smile appeared in her eyes.

When it comes to unlocking, she really couldn’t, but that didn’t mean she couldn’t cause some damage.

She didn’t have the skills of a locksmith, but she had the Heavenly Eye!

The Heavenly Eye could directly see through to the inner workings of the lock, figuring out its internal structure was a breeze for Huo Sining, right?

Once she understood the structure, wouldn’t it be easy to damage the lock?!

Suddenly enlightened, Huo Sining hurried back to the restroom to make a cover, then emerged from behind the curtain and dashed straight to the cabin door, rolling up her sleeves and getting to work.

”You... Huo Sining, why did you come out? Didn’t we ask you to stay in your seat? Why are you here?”

Zhou Zeping’s expression changed as soon as he saw Huo Sining. He thought she had been sitting in economy class all along, so he panicked when he found her in business class.

However, Huo Sining seemed oblivious to Zhou Zeping’s anxiety and worry and went directly to the cockpit door: ”Is the door locked from the inside? Let me give it a try?”

Sister Zhao recognized Huo Sining as the intern doctor who saved the security officer, and looked at her in surprise, showing a very peculiar look: ”Aren’t you studying Chinese medicine? You can unlock doors too?”

Huo Sining smiled at Sister Zhao: ”I can’t unlock doors.”

”What are you doing here if you can’t unlock doors? There are so many men here, and they can’t break this door down with their combined strength; a young female student like you can’t be of much help, better to go back and sit!”

Sister Zhao was aware that Huo Sining had saved Xiao Liu, so even though she suddenly came out, her attitude towards her remained relatively polite.

Huo Sining smiled lightly: ”It’s not necessary to unlock the door, Sister Zhao. I can’t unlock doors, but I can cause damage! Didn’t you say we just need to break the lock? Our goal is to open the door, and as long as the lock’s function is compromised, it won’t keep us out, right?”

With that, Huo Sining crouched by the cockpit door, reaching her hand into the lock with the help of her Heavenly Eye, which allowed her to see through the lock. After a few glances, she had a plan formed in her head, then turned back to Sister Zhao: ”Can you give me a piece of wire, thin but sturdy, something that won’t easily bend or break.”

The flight attendant gave Huo Sining a doubtful look: ”Young lady, this...will it really work?”

Huo Sining shrugged and smiled: ”How can I not try it first? Anyway, you all don’t have any solutions at the moment, so let me have a go at it. Better to try something than nothing.”

Sister Zhao couldn’t refute Huo Sining’s argument and had to turn around to find her the tool she requested; eventually, they found a wire in the emergency kit, which wasn’t too long. Huo Sining looked at it in her hand, not quite satisfied but could only nod and say: ”Alright, this will do.”

The people in the cabin didn’t take Huo Sining’s words seriously, watching her squat down to work on the lock with little hope. They were filled with confusion and despair, and there were cries of hopelessness coming from the economy class.

But Huo Sining wasn’t swayed by the external environment. She used her ability to see through and began gently probing with the wire inside the lock.

Fortunately, the plane used outdated equipment, with a conventional mechanical lock on the cabin door rather than a newer electronic one. If it were one of the modern password locks that required a fingerprint, even with her vision, she might have been helpless.

Although she had never unlocked a lock before, the structure of the cabin’s door lock was similar to a typical household mechanical lock: a cylinder in the core, supported by a spring, which releases when locked, preventing the key from rotating from the outside.

Typically, locksmiths use a lockpick gun. They insert the nose of the gun into the keyhole and pull the trigger, causing the lock to open. The mechanism behind this is designed based on *******, using the irregular bouncing of the spring lock to open it.

Without a lockpick gun, Huo Sining could only rely on brute force. She inserted the wire into the keyhole, probing back and forth a few times before finding a spot where there was movement, hearing a component inside the lock shifting. Relaxation spread across her face.

Pulling the wire out, she bent a tiny hook on the end and reinserted it into the previous position. When reaching the loosened spring position, she hooked it gently, closed her eyes, applied pressure at the right moment, and pulled it abruptly, hearing a loud noise from the lock.

Upon hearing the sound, Huo Sining relaxed and curled her lips into a smile.

”How is it? Any signal yet?”

”No, we’re over the Pacific Ocean now, connecting with ground control is impossible.”

”What should we do? If there’s no signal, are we just going to let the hijacker have his way?”

A few flight attendants and security officers began devising countermeasures, with even Zhou Zeping joining the discussion. During their heated debate, the sound from the lock startled them, and they all quickly turned to look at the cockpit door behind them.

Huo Sining turned back and nodded to the crowd, blinking to signal that the lock was open.

Everyone was dumbstruck as Huo Sining gently pulled the door slightly and a small gap appeared.

Seeing this, nobody doubted anymore; it was clear the door had been forcefully opened by Huo Sining!

The security officer and flight attendants were wide-eyed with disbelief that this young woman had actually managed to do it. After so many attempts to break it open, she’d done it with just a wire, tinkering around until the door opened!

Zhou Zeping was equally stunned, finding it hard to believe that Huo Sining had such a skill; it was amazing!

All the men were impressed by Huo Sining; some even gave her a thumbs-up.

However, no one dared to cheer aloud at this moment, fearing they’d alert the hijacker inside the cockpit and provoke him into a desperate act that might endanger the pilot’s life.

So they all instinctively held their breath, waiting for the perfect moment to deliver a fatal blow to the hijacker inside.
