Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1087: Chapter 1083: How to Deal with the Gold

”Sis, do I look handsome?” The little kid couldn’t bring himself to take off his new clothes and simply kept them on. Perhaps he was feeling a bit light-headed from the sales assistant’s compliments. Even after walking quite far from the children’s clothing store, he kept pestering Huo Sining, asking if he looked handsome.

Huo Sining was getting a bit of a headache from the little guy’s questioning. Just as she was about to turn around and tease him a bit, she unexpectedly saw two familiar faces on the opposite elevator: one was Ouyang Jun, whom she hadn’t seen for over two weeks, and the other was Song Chaoying, one of the Song Sisters she’d met months ago in Xiangjiang.

Ouyang Jun and Song Xiaochen were collaborating on a military project together, so it wasn’t surprising that Ouyang Jun was familiar with Song Chaoying. But from afar, Huo Sining saw Ouyang Jun practically sticking closely behind Song Chaoying, smiling obsequiously with a face full of admiration. Song Chaoying, however, seemed indifferent and appeared somewhat impatient.

Observing the odd dynamics between these two, a thought flashed through Huo Sining’s mind. She instantly understood what was going on and found it rather amusing. Trying hard to suppress her laughter, she was about to avoid them to spare Ouyang Jun’s embarrassment. Just as she was about to pull Qibao and turn to leave, both Ouyang Jun and Song Chaoying coincidentally noticed her.

Ouyang Jun appeared somewhat stunned, seemingly not expecting to see Huo Sining here. However, he quickly regained his composure, waved his hand towards her, and called out, ”Sister-in-law! Over here!”

Feeling somewhat resigned, Huo Sining had no choice but to pull Qibao and head over to where Ouyang Jun was standing.

”What a coincidence, you’re here shopping too?” Ouyang Jun didn’t feel the slightest bit awkward, glancing at Huo Sining and then looking at the child she was holding by the hand, ”Who is this kid? Surely, he isn’t yours and Xu Zi’s, right? You couldn’t have had him this quickly, could you?”

Huo Sining rolled her eyes at Ouyang Jun and explained, ”This is my little brother, Qibao. Qibao, call him Uncle Ouyang.”

Qibao curiously sized up Ouyang Jun, obediently calling out, ”Uncle Ouyang.”

Ouyang Jun’s face instantly darkened: ”What the heck, I call you sister-in-law, this is your brother, yet you have your brother call me uncle, what’s this supposed to mean, are you indirectly implying I’m old?”

”Pfft—” Song Chaoying, who had been maintaining a serious expression on the side, couldn’t help but burst into laughter.

Only then did Huo Sining turn to greet Song Chaoying, nodding, ”Miss Song.”

Song Chaoying looked at Huo Sining with a smile, ”Long time no see!”

”How are your father and mother doing?” Remembering the Gambling King she’d met months ago, Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask another question.

Song Chaoying replied with a smile, ”Thanks for asking, my parents are doing well.”

Huo Sining nodded, wanting to say more, but Ouyang Jun interrupted, discontentedly exclaiming, ”Do you have to be so formal and polite with each other? It’s Miss this and then Your parents that, it’s giving me goosebumps, just use names directly, can’t stand it!”

Huo Sining and Song Chaoying exchanged a glance and couldn’t help but laugh.

Seeing Ouyang Jun reminded Huo Sining of something. She recalled that Ouyang Jun was involved in financial investments and should be quite familiar with banking matters. Huo Sining thought of the dozens of boxes of gold bars in her Storage Space. Such a large amount of gold took up quite a bit of space in her ring, and it seemed better to deal with it soon, while gold prices were still high, to turn it into cash for other ventures.

So she quietly moved closer to Ouyang Jun, lowered her voice, and asked, ”Could I ask you something?”

Ouyang Jun nodded, ”Go ahead.”

”Are you familiar with overseas banks, Europe and America would be fine too? I have a batch of gold that needs to be sold.”

Ouyang Jun was a bit surprised, gave Huo Sining a thoughtful look, then nodded, ”You can check with Wall Street or Cyprus, it shouldn’t be much of a problem. How much do you have?”

Huo Sining made a gesture with her hand indicating ’four’. Ouyang Jun didn’t pay much attention, thinking she meant four kilograms. This sort of deal in the millions wasn’t something he took seriously, so he waved it off, saying, ”I’ll inquire for you, find the one with the highest price, then you can bring your four kilograms to my company directly.”

Huo Sining was suddenly amused and looked around at the surrounding people for a moment. After hesitating, she awkwardly said, ”Actually, you’ve misunderstood; it’s not four kilograms.”

Ouyang Jun was taken aback, ”Not four kilograms? Is it forty pounds? Four hundred pounds?”

Ouyang Jun guessed several numbers, and Huo Sining just shook her head each time. Eventually, Ouyang Jun realized something was off. Considering how Huo Sining often engaged in some unexpected ventures, a sense of alarm rose in him, his expression slightly shifted, and he asked seriously, ”Could it be... four thousand kilograms?”

Huo Sining continued to shake her head and replied, ”No, it’s forty tons.”

”Uh...” Ouyang Jun’s jaw dropped in shock, mouth agape, as he stared at Huo Sining in disbelief, thinking he’d just misheard, ”I didn’t mishear, did I? How much did you just say?”

”You didn’t mishear; it’s forty tons.”

Huo Sining repeated the number, appearing very serious and clearly not joking.

Hearing the number forty tons, Ouyang Jun suddenly went into Sparta mode.

”Where... where did you get... so much gold... did you raid a bank?”

Huo Sining was a bit speechless, ”Raid a bank? What bank would stockpile that much gold? Don’t make blind guesses. My senior brother dredged up a sunken ship in Dongyang recently and found all this gold, secretly got someone to transport it back to me. You know how gold is strictly regulated domestically and internationally, wanting to handle such a large sum without alerting the authorities is a challenge, which is why I came to you.”

Ouyang Jun nodded, his expression somewhat stiff, speaking in a dry manner:

”Your concern is indeed valid, but coming to me doesn’t help. I thought you had at most a few dozen pounds; such a quantity I could easily deal with discreetly. But forty tons, you’re joking, right? Even if I dared to sell such a large batch, no institution would dare to accept it.”

Hearing Ouyang Jun say this, Huo Sining was a bit disappointed. She thought Ouyang Jun would have a way, but unexpectedly, even he was stumped by the forty tons of gold.

Just as Huo Sining was considering finding another way, Song Chaoying unexpectedly chimed in, saying, ”Miss Huo, if you don’t have a solution, I might have a few suggestions for you.”
