Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1057: Chapter 1053 Sea Snake Fright

The passageway in the cabin was a complete mess, with one side that should have been the guest rooms now buried in silt and sand. In the center of the mud-sand ground, a diver’s corpse was lying there, surrounded by six or seven slender sea snakes, each about a meter long, biting him.

The snakes’ teeth were sharp and incisive, piercing right through the diver’s tight wetsuit with a bite. Flesh and blood flew as the snakes feasted, never forgetting to fight amongst themselves, seemingly competing for the spoils. The bitten diver’s eyes were wide open, lifelessly staring at the outside of the ship, apparently already dead.

Witnessing this scene, Huo Sining felt a chill run down her spine, an eerie and horrifying sensation creeping up from her feet, unable to suppress the nausea erupting from her stomach.

She instantly recognized them; those few sea snakes were Thistle Sea Snakes, one of the top ten most poisonous sea snakes in the Northern Sea Domain.

These sea snakes were dark brown, banded with yellow patterns, looking no different from land snakes in appearance. However, these snakes belonged to the Cobra Subfamily, possessing proteroglyphous venomous fangs, with venom even stronger than terrestrial cobras, being dozens of times more toxic.

Sea snakes have a habit of schooling and aggregating, gathering in thousands upon thousands and floating downstream. Therefore, when the breeding season arrives, large groups of male and female sea snakes often gather together, sometimes in numbers reaching millions, spanning several kilometers long. When they gather at ports, even ships find it difficult to navigate.

There was once news reported from the Strait of Malacca about a sea snake convergence, forming a one-meter wide, 60 nautical miles long straight snake formation, orderly and grandiose, an extremely spectacular scene.

However, this was not the breeding season, nor was this place a current area, such a large group of sea snakes appearing here was definitely not due to mating.

Thistle Sea Snakes like to use silt to make their nests, Huo Sining’s gaze fell on the guest room filled with silt and sea sand inside the cabin. The room’s door was wide open, seemingly opened by the diver.

Looking at the passageway corridor full of silt, Huo Sining could almost be certain that these sea snakes had made the rooms of this sunken ship their nest!

It’s winter now, the sea snakes were in hibernation, the diver, unaware of the situation, rashly opened the cabin guest room door, awoke those dormant venomous creatures, causing the sea snakes to erupt and madly attack these divers.

No wonder she felt danger when those divers opened the cabin door to enter the ship. It turned out the upper deck of the ship was filled with these terrifying and ferocious creatures, Thistle Sea Snakes.

Thinking back on this, Huo Sining felt an intense fear. If she hadn’t ventured into the ship from another side cave, if her path wasn’t so smooth, if the few cargo holds she opened hadn’t been the home of Thistle Sea Snakes, she might have been surrounded and attacked by a large group of Thistle Sea Snakes as soon as she rashly ventured into the ship. Under such circumstances, escaping would not be easy.

This realization made Huo Sining instinctively want to escape, but just at that moment, another diver suddenly rushed out from the other side, desperately trying to climb out of the sunken ship. But as soon as he moved, a group of sea snakes immediately charged out from the silt on one side and started attacking the diver.

The diver, holding a knife for self-defense, dashed towards the ship’s exit while fiercely stabbing at the twisted ribbon-like creatures behind him.

The black snakes, under attack, became even more ferocious, relentlessly attacking the diver.

Anyone who has seen the American movies ”Alien” knows how thrilling and intense the battles between humans and aliens are, with scenes of tentacles or snake-like creatures’ bloody and brutal attacks being the most meticulously depicted.

Huo Sining had watched ”Alien” and ”Prometheus”, and the scene before her of the sea snakes attacking the divers was eerily reminiscent of those in the movies. The only difference was, when she watched the film, she was a spectator outside the screen, but now she was witnessing the terrifying scene up close, observing a fellow human being attacked.

That Dongyang man, truly courageous, unfortunately was under immense water pressure underwater, making movement itself difficult, naturally not as fluid and forceful as on the surface. Whereas for the sea snakes, the underwater realm is their territory, dealing with a few two-legged humanoid creatures is not a difficult task.

In just a few moments, the escaping diver had an arm surrounded by sea snakes. He was still trying to resist, but large sea snakes were inherently ferocious underwater. Combined with the buoyancy of water, the energy they unleashed surpassed human imagination.

The dagger scratched a sea snake’s back, hurt, the snake became frenzied, swept its tail against the diver, and madly bit at him. With one bite, the diver’s arm protection suit was torn open.

The venomous fangs of the sea snake’s front end squeezed and sprayed venom, immediately infiltrating the diver’s arm, starting to paralyze his nervous system through the bloodstream. The diver initially felt pain, still trying to escape, but could only take a few steps before the venom weakened him, making him seemingly spent, instantly collapsing on the floor less than a meter away from Huo Sining, the dagger he waved was now unable to grasp, directly falling to the ground.

Seeing this scene, Huo Sining covered her mouth in horror.

She was in an invisible state, as those sea snakes approached the collapsed diver, preparing to bite into the diver’s flesh, they seemed to smell something and swam towards her.

Seeing the sea snakes approaching her, at that moment, Huo Sining completely forgot she was invisible, out of fear and defense, she instinctively reached out, trying to swipe away the approaching sea snake.

The sea snake had only smelled the scent of Spirit of Azure Pearl, bewitched, wanted to approach Huo Sining to investigate. Yet before getting close, it was slapped away by Huo Sining.

The slapped sea snake was dumbfounded.

Its head shook in the air, not seeing any creature before it. The sea snake didn’t believe, again approached, only to be slapped away by Huo Sining once more.

The sea snake, in pain, dared not approach again, yet its head was still fixated on the air before it, somewhat fearful and perplexed.

Having slapped the sea snake twice, seeing it dumbly watch her position, yet not attacking her, Huo Sining finally remembered she was invisible, these sea snakes couldn’t see her at all.
