Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1096: Chapter 1092: Little Jiaoren (Merfolk)

Throwing the little guy into the bathroom, Huo Sining noticed Su Qingqing was still standing in the courtyard, feeling puzzled, she couldn’t help but shout:

”Why aren’t you coming in? Enjoying the chilly wind outside? Come on in, let me take a look at your face. It’s all swollen. It looks like it needs some ointment. Fortunately, I have some of Yan Feng’s specially made white ointment here. A little bit of it will reduce the swelling quickly.”

Su Qingqing snapped back to reality with an ”oh,” and quickly walked over. Just before entering the house, she couldn’t help but glance again at the fish pond, her eyes full of confusion and bewilderment.

”What’s up? You’re turning back every few steps, what are you looking at?” Huo Sining took out the bottle of specially made bruise medicine from Yan Feng and gestured for Su Qingqing to sit on the sofa, preparing to apply some of the medicine on her and then use Spiritual Energy to smoothen Su Qingqing’s condition.

”It’s nothing.” Su Qingqing shook her head, trying to shake off the muddled images in her mind with a smile, ”It’s just that when I came in, I saw that kid playing with water by the pool. I glanced over and seemed to see a white fish tail in the pool. I thought I saw a mermaid, but then realized I was imagining things, haha.”

Hearing this, Huo Sining’s hand holding the medicine bottle hesitated, as if she remembered something. Her face stiffened for a moment, but she forced a smile and said, ”There’s no such thing as mermaids. You’re talking in your sleep in the middle of the day. You must be seeing things.”

Su Qingqing laughed, ”Exactly, I woke up with a start when that little fellow whipped me. This little pudding doesn’t look like much, but the whip’s strength was quite something. Speaking of which, whose child is this? I haven’t seen them before. Even if you were to have a child with Gu Xu, it wouldn’t be this fast, right?”

Huo Sining, annoyed, gave Su Qingqing a balm irritantly and directly applied the white powder to her face, which made Su Qingqing gasp sharply with a hiss.

”He’s a little brother I just recognized. From Miao Village, the child has a pitiful background, so I took him in. Speaking of which, I wanted to ask you, do you know how I can get household registration for the child, and, besides, he’s already six years old. After the New Year, I have to figure out how to get him into school.”

While discreetly using Spiritual Energy to smooth Su Qingqing’s condition, Huo Sining inquired casually about the matters of Qibao’s registration and schooling.

After applying the white powder, Su Qingqing felt a stinging burning sensation on her cheek at first, but then Huo Sining gently pressed it with her hand, and her face soon turned cool and comfortable. The previous tingling burning sensation disappeared, and she couldn’t help but close her eyes, saying:

”Registering is simple. Just add him to your household registration booklet, and I’ll ask my dad if he can contact someone. He’ll help you sort it out. As for the schooling issue, there’s a primary school with decent teachers right here in our community. Once the registration is done, you can just take that little ghost to enroll.”

Hearing Su Qingqing’s suggestion, Huo Sining felt relieved: ”Alright, ask Uncle, and I’ll provide any necessary documents. All done, your face’s fine now, go wash your face.”

Su Qingqing was momentarily stunned, savoring the lingering cool satisfaction. Sure enough, after just a short conversation, she felt her face no longer hurt. She took out a compact mirror she carried and checked her reflection. Apart from the traces of the ointment, there were no signs of swelling or blood marks left.

Su Qingqing couldn’t help but marvel silently at the magic, muttering under her breath, ”This Master Yan is truly off track, possessing such high skills in both carving and medicine. If he focused sincerely on either, he’d make a fortune. His medicine is so miraculous, even small-scale production would have the wealthy flocking to it. I really don’t understand what this guy is thinking!”

While muttering to herself, Su Qingqing went obediently to wash the ointment off her face in the bathroom. Her skin was instantly restored to a fair, jade-like appearance. The previous whip marks vanished entirely without a trace.

While Su Qingqing was freshening up, Huo Sining quietly sneaked upstairs. There, Qibao was bathing in the bathroom. Once Huo Sining entered the room, she gently locked the door behind her and headed straight for the bathroom. When she pushed open the bathroom door, she indeed saw the little guy happily swimming in the bathtub, with a white fish tail splashing triumphantly, full of glee.

Even though she had already witnessed Su Lan transforming into a Jiaoren in Zhouzhuang, seeing Qibao’s other form now still slightly startled Huo Sining.

The little guy’s cheeks sprouted gill covers, his ears became pointed, and his brown hair, like seaweed, fluffed up. His eyes changed from deep black to pure, crystal blue. Under the dim bathroom light, those eyes glimmered brightly like a cat’s eye.

Seeing Huo Sining enter, the little guy got a bit flustered and stood upright suddenly in the bathtub, with his fish tail slightly bowed, supporting the weight of his upper body. His upright posture was eerie and bizarre, standing solidly before Huo Sining.

Huo Sining was a bit dazed, standing motionless for a full three seconds before taking a deep breath and asked, ”Qibao, when you were playing with water outside the pool just now, did you expose your tail too?”

The little guy abruptly lifted his head at her question, appearing startled or guilty. His body shook, and in a matter of moments, it began to change. His lower body, with visible speed, shrank and shed its fish scales and tail. The long fish tail transformed into human legs, and the thick, raised scales disappeared. His skin became a delicate milky white, identical to that of an ordinary child.

”I... I didn’t mean to... I just wanted to play with water for a while... but I couldn’t control it... Sister, did Qibao cause trouble?”

The little guy’s eyes reverted to deer-like black-brown, glistening with a watery shine and a clueless expression.

Huo Sining sighed inwardly. Now she somewhat understood why Yan Feng insisted the little guy should stay with her. This child was probably more troublesome than she had imagined.

Today’s incident, fortunately, involved the nerve-calm Su Qingqing. If it had been anyone else, the situation might not have been so easily smoothed over. There was a high chance they would report it, leading to this little guy’s fate of ending up dissected in a lab.

”Is this why you came here?” Huo Sining fixed her gaze on Qibao, ”Does anyone else know about your secret?”
