Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1097: Chapter 1093: Qibao’s Origins

The little kid shook his head: ”I discovered this situation half a year ago. One day I fell sick with a fever, my body was burning, and when I woke up, I found that my face had grown gills, scales, and a fish tail, and my eyes had turned deep blue. I was scared, I thought I was dreaming, but later realized it was real, not an illusion.”

”I didn’t dare to make a sound, afraid others would see me as a monster, and I didn’t dare to open the door for my dad and mom to see.”

Speaking of the situation half a year ago, the little guy’s eyes were still filled with fear and apprehension: ”Luckily, the fish tail disappeared in less than an hour, and my legs came back.”

Upon hearing Qibao mention his dad and mom, Huo Sining couldn’t help but ask: ”You ran away, won’t your dad and mom worry about you? If you disappear, won’t your dad and mom look everywhere for you?”

Huo Sining’s words made the little guy’s face stiffen suddenly. He lowered his head, and after a long while, he opened his mouth: ”Three months ago, dad went to the mountains to pick herbs for mom and fell off a cliff. Mom knew something happened to dad and coughed more severely until she passed away.”

”Uncle Shanzhang wanted to send me away and took all the things dad and mom left. I got up at midnight to go to the bathroom and heard Uncle Shanzhang say he was going to sell me to a kiln factory. I was terrified and didn’t dare to go back. I ran out of the village overnight.”

”The Spiritual Pearl allowed me to contact others. It was a big brother who secretly guided me to find you. I came here based on his hints.”

Upon hearing this, Huo Sining couldn’t help but be amazed.

She had never figured out how this child suddenly ran here. On the other hand, she was also worried that the child’s parents might be anxiously searching, maybe even reported to the police. If it was actually tracked down to her, she might be accused of human trafficking.

But Huo Sining never imagined such thrilling events had happened to this little fellow. If this little guy wasn’t clever, the child standing in front of her now would have been under the control of the black kiln people. In a place like that, it would truly be calling to the heavens with no response, seeking help on earth with no avail.

Huo Sining no longer wanted to blame this child. This child is only six years old, and has gone through so many hardships, losing both parents, encountering the heartless Uncle Shanzhang, barely keeping his life. It must have been incredibly tough to find her here.

Just thinking about how this little kid was bold enough to reveal his true form in the artificial pond in the courtyard, almost caught by Su Qingqing, made Huo Sining’s heart race: ”You can’t control this mutation?”

The little guy shook his head: ”Not really. I can usually control it except on a full moon when I have to stay in the water all night. Other times I’m normal. It’s just that I’ve hardly touched water recently, and I momentarily lost control outside, did that Sister Su notice me?”

As he spoke, Qibao looked up, nervously at Huo Sining, his gaze full of panic.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh inwardly. She reached out and gently touched the little guy’s fluffy head, saying: ”Don’t be nervous. That sister just found it odd and doesn’t suspect you. But you must be careful next time. If you want to play in water in the future, do it in the bathroom with the door closed, not outside alone.”

The little guy realized his mistake and quickly lowered his head, softly saying: ”I know I was wrong, sister. I will never dare to do it again.”

Qibao might be young, but he is quite mature. Probably due to the bizarre things he experienced over the past half year, forcing him to grow continuously under the pressure of fear and anxiety, making his intellect much more mature than other kids his age.

Moreover, this little guy is keenly sensitive to people’s emotions, since Huo Sining once got angry with him and said she would send him back to Miao Village, leaving a shadow in the little guy’s heart.

He finally found someone like him, just wanting to live with Huo Sining. And because of one small mistake, he must go back to Miao Village.

Thinking about going back to Miao Village, where he might be sent to a black kiln by Uncle Shanzhang, made the little guy nervous. He wanted to show himself to be a good boy in front of Huo Sining, so after taking a bath in the bathroom, Qibao became particularly obedient, dressing and changing shoes himself and even cleaning the bathroom.

And not just that, completely different from before, this little bean became extraordinarily quiet, sticking to her, almost cautiously. After tidying the bathroom, he closely followed Huo Sining, almost wherever she went, even waiting at the bathroom door when she went to use the toilet.

Huo Sining, not being insensitive, naturally quickly noticed Qibao’s odd behavior, bending down to ask him: ”What’s wrong with you? Is it because you almost got discovered today, so you’re scared?”

Qibao lowered his head, biting his lip, swaying, but refused to speak.

Seeing the gloom in his eyes and thinking about the experiences over the past six months, Huo Sining thought the little guy might be lacking a sense of security.

Seeing the little guy was tugging tightly at her clothes hem, looking so aggrieved, something inside Huo Sining moved, and she couldn’t help but reach out and stroke Qibao’s head, smiling softly:

”Things are busy these days. When it’s less hectic in a few days, I’ll take you to the seaside, how’s that? I happen to have a big sea turtle here waiting to be released, and I’ll take you to play underwater, ensuring you have fun and won’t be discovered.”

Upon hearing this, Qibao quickly looked up, eyes filled with three parts joy and seven parts worry: ”Really? Sister, you’re not lying to me? You won’t send Qibao back to Miao Village?”

Looking at the child tightly clinging to her nightgown, with eyes like a nervous little deer staring at her, Huo Sining’s heart couldn’t help but soften.

Huo Sining could imagine that Qibao’s experiences over the past half year must have been exceptionally tumultuous, even panicked, with his body changing fear of being treated as a monster. Then losing both parents, Uncle Shanzhang occupying his home, almost getting sold, surviving and escaping from Miao Village, finding her through many twists and turns. This little guy certainly considers her his family, so afraid she’s going to abandon him and send him back to Miao Village, that pit of fire.

Huo Sining couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, extending her pinky finger in front of the little guy’s eyes, and said:

”Qibao, since Big Sister has claimed you as my brother, you are my real brother. Where is there a reason for a sister to leave her brother? Not to mention that Big Sister can fully support you now. Even if Big Sister has nothing, even if Big Sister is broke, I’ll surely take care of you. If you don’t trust me, how about we make a pinky promise? If anyone leaves anyone behind in the future, let them be called a dog, okay?”
