Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1054: Chapter 1050 Going Under

Listening to the tone of Fujiwara Seiho, Huo Sining realized that the Golden Lotus seemed quite important to the ARC institution; otherwise, Fujiwara Seiho would not personally go to the deserted island to find that plant, nor secretly send people to her home.

Huo Sining silently memorized the term ARC in her mind, deciding that once she returned to shore, she would thoroughly investigate what this institution was.

She was just listening when suddenly a loud voice came from the cockpit: ”Prepare to set sail!”

Soon, she heard the sound of the engine starting up, and the yacht swiftly set sail, advancing into the depths of The Ocean.

As the ship set sail, Fujiwara Seiho and Etsuko Misaki stopped speaking, each sitting in their respective spots in the cabin, closing their eyes to rest.

Typically, yachts on long voyages don’t travel very fast, but this yacht seemed to have been modified, with significant improvements in endurance. Coupled with the diesel engine being more reliable and durable than ordinary gasoline engines, the yacht’s speed was still quite fast. After over ten hours of sailing at sea, by the time the ship stopped, it was nearly a thousand nautical miles away from Dongdu Port.

By this point, they had even left the East Ocean Sea, entering the domain of the high seas. According to regulations, on the high seas, it’s customary to hoist a national flag to declare identity to passing ships, but since Fujiwara Seiho’s journey was intended to be covert, hoisting a flag was naturally out of the question.

At this moment, night was deep, and the surroundings were so dark that one couldn’t see anything. Additionally, being winter, the night was pitch black, shrouded in thick fog, making visibility extremely low. If the yacht’s lights were turned off, even patrol boats passing nearby might not notice the yacht’s presence.

This was why Fujiwara Seiho dared to act so boldly; leveraging the advantage of the weather, his operations at sea didn’t have to worry about being discovered.

After the ship stabilized, Etsuko Misaki and Fujiwara Seiho entered the captain’s cabin. Inside the cabin hung a large electronic marine chart, and the ocean current monitor was reporting the speed of nearby currents and changes in stormy weather, clearly indicating serious preparation.

Seeing the ocean coordinates displayed on the electronic chart, Etsuko Misaki took out a blueprint in her hand, compared the coordinates on both sheets, and after examining them carefully, nodded affirmatively to Fujiwara Seiho, saying, ”Master, it is indeed this location.”

Fujiwara Seiho gently nodded, giving the order: ”Get those crew members up to work.”

”Hai!”

Etsuko Misaki bowed and nodded, then turned around and headed to the crew’s quarters.

When boarding, Huo Sining hadn’t noticed any other people on the ship, but now that the ship had stabilized, Etsuko Misaki merely knocked softly on the door, and Huo Sining saw seven or eight people emerge from a side crew dormitory.

Observing these people greeting Fujiwara Seiho humbly, all calling him ”Master” with respect tinged with fear, Huo Sining guessed that these people must belong to Fujiwara Seiho.

However, Huo Sining still didn’t quite understand what exactly Fujiwara Seiho’s background was, why these people, including Etsuko Misaki, called him Master, and Fujiwara Seiho had previously mentioned the term Iga-ryu. If she remembered correctly, Iga-ryu was supposed to be a ninja organization. Could it be that Fujiwara Seiho is actually the Young Master of the ninja village?

Despite her confusion, these thoughts merely flickered through Huo Sining’s mind. Her current task was to prepare to follow these crew members into the water to profit from their efforts.

These crew members seemed ready to dive next because, after greeting Fujiwara Seiho, they headed straight to the cargo hold, opened it, and began wearing diving gear.

Although Huo Sining had never dived, she recognized the equipment’s name, which translated should be ”closed-circuit rebreather system.”

In normal circumstances, the diving gear people are familiar with is like what we see on television, with divers wearing tight wetsuits with an oxygen tank strapped on the back and inhaling oxygen while expelling spent air, hence the string of white bubbles emanating from the diver’s nose on camera.

However, a closed-circuit rebreather system is different. During use, it doesn’t release any exhaust bubbles; the expelled air is filtered by the air recycling device to remove carbon dioxide, reusing it and providing fresh air for the diver, significantly increasing oxygen efficiency.

But such equipment belongs to high-end diving facilities, typically only available to elite naval units. Ordinary people haven’t even heard of it, and Huo Sining knew about it because there was a course in her biology department called ”Marine Environmental Protection,” which mentioned maritime bureaus and naval forces and highlighted this equipment.

Traditional double oxygen tank scuba systems are quite heavy, imposing a significant burden in the water, reducing dive time. Even experienced divers, while conserving oxygen, can only remain underwater for fifty minutes at most.

But the closed-circuit rebreather is different. It’s entirely metal-constructed, resembling a thick turtle shell, carried on the back without causing resistance in seawater or imposing a heavy burden on the diver. As there’s no need to expel spent air underwater, even a novice diver can easily stay submerged for two to three hours.

However, such a set of equipment is not cheap, costing around three to four hundred thousand RMB each. Fujiwara Seiho spending a fortune to prepare so many sets of equipment indicates his immense concern and determination regarding the underwater target.

Huo Sining silently watched the divers don their equipment, curious about what Fujiwara Seiho was searching for while secretly amused.

No matter how good the equipment, with the Water-Repelling Pearl as her ultimate marine weapon, she just needed to follow behind them. When they discovered the shipwreck, she could seize the opportunity to steal everything.

Once everything was donned and confirmed to be problem-free, the crew members unhesitatingly jumped into the water. Despite it being winter, splashing cold water everywhere, the chilling air currents made one feel the intense cold, yet these people didn’t hesitate and directly jumped into the water.

Huo Sining also quietly made her way to the stern, stealthily slipping into the water. However, with the Water-Repelling Pearl present, the Spirit of Azure Pearl could automatically adjust the temperature, so she didn’t feel the chill of the seawater but rather performed several complex maneuvers in the water with ease.
