Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1095: Chapter 1091: Fish Whip

Chen Yu’s words were heard by Han Wen, and although she didn’t say anything on the surface, she secretly remembered them.

Seeing Han Wen’s serious and earnest expression, Chen Yu knew she had taken her words to heart. Without saying any more, she patted Han Wen on the shoulder and left on her own.

After contemplating all afternoon, Han Wen decided to take a day to personally visit S City. She arranged matters over the phone with several other assistant directors from the production team and purchased the quickest flight, flying to S City the very next morning.

Over at Huo Sining’s side, after receiving two calls she considered fraudulent, she didn’t pay much attention. After returning from the mall, Su Qingqing rushed to the villa. Upon learning that Huo Sining had returned home, Su Qingqing was extremely excited and immediately ran to Huo Sining’s house.

As soon as she entered, she saw a little kid squatting by the artificial fish pond in the yard, splashing water. Su Qingqing froze in place, feeling something was amiss, and couldn’t help but glance at the door again to confirm she hadn’t entered the wrong place.

Wondering why there was a little kid at Huo Sining’s home, Su Qingqing, out of curiosity and mischief, stayed silent and quietly approached the pond to take a closer look at the child.

As she got closer, before Su Qingqing could speak, a flash of something silvery shot towards her. A tail-like object suddenly slapped her on the cheek with a smack.

Su Qingqing felt a sharp pain on her cheek and involuntarily cried out. The force was so heavy that her cheek instantly swelled, and the stinging pain triggered her tear ducts, causing her to burst into tears uncontrollably.

Having been hit for no reason, Su Qingqing was instantly furious. She glanced down at her assailant through teary eyes, only to see a little kid staring at her with bewildered eyes, wide and innocent, resembling a little fawn with no trace of malice.

Seeing this, the anger in Su Qingqing’s heart dissipated, leaving only helplessness and a tender heart.

Facing such pure and clear eyes, she really couldn’t bring herself to scold.

”It’s okay, it’s okay, it was my fault for scaring you first.”

Su Qingqing managed a strained smile despite her aching cheek to comfort the child in front of her.

Hearing this, the child looked at Su Qingqing with a mix of confusion and worry, nodded, and continued sitting by the pond, dangling her lily-white legs in the water, sneaking glances at Su Qingqing with eyes that seemed filled with panic and guilt.

Su Qingqing found it peculiar. When she first approached the child, she thought she saw a flickering white fish tail in the pond. But before she could be sure, she got hit. Looking again now, she saw only a few red and white koi in the pond, with no trace of a white fish tail.

Moreover, Su Qingqing distinctly remembered the object that hit her cheek was wet and cold and had some slime to it, resembling a fish tail several feet long. But when she looked down at the child again, she saw the child’s hands were empty, her feet bare and pants rolled high, playing joyfully with no sign of the object that struck her.

Feeling something was off, Su Qingqing was about to ask when Huo Sining, having heard the commotion, rushed out of the house. Running, she shouted, ”What’s going on, what’s going on?”

After saying this, Huo Sining ran out and upon seeing Su Qingqing, was initially surprised, then overjoyed: ”Qingqing, you’re here?! I was just thinking of looking for you!”

Just after speaking, Huo Sining noticed the red swollen welt on Su Qingqing’s cheek and immediately furrowed her brows, ”What happened to your face?”

The little culprit by the side no longer dared to play with water and timidly stood up from the pond, lowering her head in embarrassment, murmuring, ”I accidentally hit her. I didn’t know who was sneaking behind me, thought it was a bad person, so I whipped, but it turned out to be Sister.”

Saying this, the little one pulled a long whip from her bosom, the whip shimmering white like fish scales, looking very sturdy. Su Qingqing couldn’t help but think, no wonder the strike felt like a fish tail; it was this whip that hit her.

Huo Sining, hearing the child’s explanation, was exasperated: ”Qibao! Who told you to casually whip people with this whip? Where did you get it from, and why haven’t I seen it before? She’s a guest; how could you hit her? Apologize to Sister Su now!”

The child, hearing Huo Sining’s words, shivered slightly, took a few steps towards Su Qingqing, and in a voice as soft as a mosquito, timidly said, ”Sister Su, I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have hit you, it was my fault...”

By the end of her words, the little one’s voice was on the brink of tears.

Su Qingqing had long been won over by the child’s eyes. Seeing her apologizing like a tiny, wronged wife, Su Qingqing’s heart overflowed with affection. Unable to resist the cuteness, she squatted down and hugged the little one, smiling and saying, ”It’s okay, Sister’s not mad, it doesn’t hurt at all, sweetheart, don’t cry.”

Qibao stiffened slightly in Su Qingqing’s embrace, struggled a bit to break free, and with one swift step, rushed to Huo Sining’s side, clutching her leg, ”Sister.”

Only then did Huo Sining notice that Qibao’s feet were bare. Despite it being winter, even in S City where it’s cold enough that normal people would feel chilly in down jackets and snow boots, this kid was playing barefoot by the pond.

”Go inside and take a hot bath, and put on your shoes! Otherwise, I’ll send you back to the Miao Village!” Huo Sining’s stern scolding finally scared the little one, who raised her head and resolutely protested, ”I want to stay with Sister, I won’t go back to the Miao Village!”

Huo Sining was merely testing the waters, and seeing that this tactic worked, she felt secretly delighted. She maintained her stern facade, pretending to be serious, ”Then go indoors for a bath, or I’ll send you off tomorrow!”
