Reborn As Super Heiress

Chapter 1065: Chapter 1061: What if I didn’t cheat?

”What’s going on here?”

A steady male voice sounded from outside the door, and the many students in the classroom all looked towards the entrance.

An elderly man in a suit, with graying hair at his temples, walked in.

Just as Nagayama Kaiyuki was regaining his composure, the office dispatched a highly respected professor to handle the situation, and the person they sent was none other than Professor Aso, who didn’t get along well with Nagayama Kaiyuki.

After entering the classroom, Professor Aso wore a stern expression, especially after a round of inquiries, hearing Huo Sining’s explanation, and listening to the reactions from other examinees. Professor Aso had already concluded that Nagayama Kaiyuki was stirring up trouble.

Professor Aso was well aware of the grievances between Nagayama Kaiyuki and the exchange student Huo Sining from Huaxia because he had witnessed the entire process at the Huaxia Koi Exchange Meeting, where Huo Sining turned the tide and saw Nagayama Kaiyuki embarrassingly leave the scene after making unreasonable trouble.

Professor Aso greatly appreciated Huo Sining’s courage and adaptability and had very good impressions of her.

Conversely, for Nagayama Kaiyuki, Professor Aso only felt disgust and disdain. Nagayama Kaiyuki’s reputation among the professors at Waseda University was never good, and this latest smuggling incident only further intensified Professor Aso’s disdain for him.

Knowing that Nagayama Kaiyuki went to great lengths to target this girl from Huaxia, Professor Aso was dismissive, but since Nagayama Kaiyuki was his colleague, he hadn’t stepped forward to be the villain.

But now, it’s different. So many students vouched for the exchange student, and no matter how much Nagayama Kaiyuki tried to explain, he couldn’t clear it up.

”Teacher Yongshan, do you have anything else to say?” Professor Aso turned and looked coldly at Nagayama Kaiyuki, asking with a blank expression.

Nagayama Kaiyuki pulled at the corners of his mouth and argued dryly, ”Aso, a few students’ one-sided words can’t be trusted, can they? The exam questions I designed this time were specifically for doctoral entrance exams at the research institute. This set of questions, I’m afraid not many students in the entire exam hall can answer. But take a look at this student’s answer sheet; it matches the standard answers exactly, not an extra word. Isn’t this cheating? Do you believe it?”

Professor Aso paused, glanced at the answer sheet Nagayama Kaiyuki held up, and saw that the handwriting was neat and the answers cleanly written. But as a professor in the management department, not the biology department, he couldn’t understand anything else beyond that.

Professor Aso might not understand, but the other students in the exam hall were not deaf. They were all paying attention to the development of this matter, and hearing Nagayama Kaiyuki say this, the classroom was instantly in an uproar.

”Bringing doctoral entrance exam questions to test us? Is Nagayama Kaiyuki insane?”

”Insane! No wonder I couldn’t answer a single question!”

”He insisted that he would set this year’s exam questions, and these questions are so difficult. We’re undergraduates, and he’s having us do doctoral questions? How could he even think of this!”

”What’s the point? I was still racking my brains—what a waste of brain cells!”

The indignant students did not focus on the main point; Nagayama Kaiyuki wanted to say that Huo Sining had answered the set of graduate doctoral exam questions. But for the examinees, being given such difficult questions to answer was, in their view, an inherently problematic exam.

So they were all filled with rage, glaring fiercely at Nagayama Kaiyuki. Even those students who initially did not want to get involved stood in solidarity and united against him.

The students’ reactions were noted by Professor Aso, who also thought that Nagayama Kaiyuki was out of his mind for setting such difficult final exam questions and then admitting it in front of so many students. Wasn’t he just setting himself up for a scolding? Moreover, he thought Nagayama Kaiyuki’s logic and reasoning were flawed.

”Teacher Yongshan, based solely on what you said, you can’t definitively accuse a student of cheating, can you? Even the police need evidence to solve a case. Just saying a student’s answers were accurate doesn’t automatically equate to cheating, does it? If you insist the student cheated, you have to present substantial evidence.” Professor Aso frowned, disagreeing, as he looked at Nagayama Kaiyuki.

Having failed to strip Huo Sining of her clothes earlier and even getting thrown over her shoulder, Nagayama Kaiyuki was furious. Hearing Professor Aso say this, a gleam flashed in his eyes.

This was exactly the response he was waiting for from Professor Aso, because he had already determined that the cheating tool was on Huo Sining’s person. Otherwise, when he tried to strip her, Huo Sining wouldn’t have reacted so intensely; she must have been afraid he would find evidence.

Nagayama Kaiyuki was convinced his speculation was the truth, so when he heard Professor Aso ask for evidence, he immediately seized the opportunity and eagerly said, ”I don’t have the evidence in my hands, but it’s definitely hidden on this female student. I wanted to search her and she refused. So in that case, let’s have other teachers do it!”

Professor Aso was taken aback, subconsciously looking over at Huo Sining, who was standing there. The girl had been crying earlier, but now her emotions seemed to have calmed, and her eyes were clear and pure, quietly waiting for his judgment. Even when Nagayama Kaiyuki proposed searching her, she showed no hint of panic or fear.

Seeing this, Professor Aso was confused, unsure who was lying.

After thinking for a while, he took out his phone and called the office, asking them to send two female teachers over.

Soon, two female teachers in their thirties hurried over.

”Huo Sining, you say you didn’t cheat, but Teacher Yongshan insists he’s right. So if you want to prove your innocence, I hope you’ll cooperate with these two female teachers’ inspection. What do you think?”

Until then, Huo Sining had remained silent. On hearing Professor Aso’s words, she did not immediately agree.

Seeing Huo Sining’s reaction, Nagayama Kaiyuki immediately smirked with a triumphant smile and smugly asked, ”What? Afraid of being found out and having evidence discovered, so you don’t dare?”

Huo Sining looked up, a strange smile appearing in her eyes. ”It’s not that I don’t dare, I just want to ask one thing. From start to finish, I’ve been emphasizing that I didn’t cheat. It’s you, Teacher Yongshan, who’s targeting me. If I cooperate with the teachers’ investigation, but it still proves I didn’t cheat in the end, Teacher Yongshan, will you then give me a reasonable explanation?”
