My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2288: Chapter 2121: Heavy Burden

So many things have turned out to be so unsatisfactory, even though I know this isn’t what I want, I am still powerless.

”No matter which one of you says any promise to me, I won’t believe it, because the most unreliable thing in this world is others’ promises. Every promise made will eventually become a lie as time passes and not a single person keeps the promises they originally made!

Since we can’t keep the promises we made at first, then why make them so easily to others? I still remember the things you said before, no matter why you left me back then, I will not forgive you anymore.

I know you are my dad and mom, and that you are my biological parents. There are some things I can’t change, but there are some outcomes that I can deal with in any way.

I understand that you don’t agree with some of the ways I handle things because those methods eventually hurt some of the feelings between you, but you don’t understand why I became that way, why I made every decision, every thing has a reason behind it, doesn’t it?”

Zhang Zhentian and Xia Jing both understand very well why their son says these things, because what they did back then is unacceptable and unforgivable for anyone, as a child, he has done very well to this point, he has forgiven his hurtful parents time and again, but he never complains, even if there is dissatisfaction in his heart, he always lets go of all prejudices for his family’s sake, yet in the end all he gets in return is deception, how could his heart not ache? Every heart is made of flesh, and if you do something wrong, others’ earnest pleas can soften your heart, and he’s not heartless, he bears the same anguish and unease when facing his parents, not knowing what decision would be responsible for his family, for his parents, and for this family as a whole.

They actually know how hard and tiring life has been for their son these years.

Yet knowing what kind of life their child has endured all these years, as parents, they have no way to solve these issues, knowing very well who brought about this pain, but they can only pretend that nothing is wrong and live in his world, because they know if they make any wrong move, then the originally peaceful existence will immediately become a mess, and the family would be left unable to continue.

They also understand, some things happened and there’s no way to change the result, even if the conclusion ultimately brings deep pain, all they can do is silently endure the suffering, everything is the consequence of their own actions.

”Child, now that your mom and dad have made these promises to you this time, you can go ahead and do whatever you want with confidence, as parents, we will absolutely not interfere with any decisions you make, I hope you consider well, if there is anything you need help with from mom and dad, speak up boldly, we as parents will exhaust all means to help you, we’ve owed you too much, perhaps only this help can ease our guilt, hoping you can give us a chance to redeem ourselves, we’ve hurt you too much in the past, we have no way to go back to how things used to be, but we are trying our best to change, to change the state of our lives, to change the way we relate to each other, aren’t we?

We hope you can truly give us, as parents, a chance to reform, leaving you is the deepest pain of my life, I never thought there would be a time when I would feel such agony, I never thought leaving you would become so unbearable, maybe this is a test from above, forcing me to accept the pain brought to me by my own child, my own actions hurt my family, hurt my home, destroyed all my deserved happiness, I have no choice but to accept all these decisions!

Child, we left you and gained the most profound pain of this lifetime, if you really consider us as your parents, I plead with you to give us a chance to reform, don’t make things so irreversible, I believe the heavens indeed have eyes. Everything I’ve done, the heavens see clearly, evidently, as long as it’s something I’ve done, then there’s no chance to return to the beginning, if a person’s heart gets hurt, it’s hurt forever with no way to restore it, this is what I know most clearly, I know I’ve broken your child’s heart, you’ve given up hope on us as parents, I know, maybe we have no way to mend your already broken heart, but please believe us, we truly can strive to give you a beautiful future, because you are our son, we will give it our all to help you, to love you!”

”There’s no need to say any more, as long as you keep it clear in your heart, a disturbed heart has no way to return to the original, then you should understand how deep you hurt me, now I hate you that much, it’s impossible for a few kind words to completely forgive you, I really cannot do it.

Everyone’s despair is accumulated bit by bit, every disappointment eventually brings despair to a person, once a person despairs of another, then there’s no chance in this lifetime to return to the beginning, no matter how deeply this person loves the other, once hurt, always hurt, there’s no returning to the original time of feeling, so the damage you’ve caused me is something I can never forget, no matter how much love you as parents give, you can’t make up for the void I got as a child, the cold shoulders I received are pains I cannot ever erase!”

We go through various journeys in life, perhaps there will be one that we want to experience...
