My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2260: Chapter 2093: The Important You

During every sleepless night, I think of you; you are the dream I cannot attain yet cannot let go of.

”Grandpa, I know every word you say is reasonable, and I know everything you say is for my good. I understand even more that every action you take is for the good of this family, but he is my biological son. How can I bear to watch him train so hard, struggling every day to prove to his grandparents that he is a good child, living so arduously? Watching him train every day, my heart as a mother is deeply distressed. He falls over and over, getting bruised all over, yet he must suppress his tears and get up to continue training. This isn’t just once or twice. In a mother’s eyes, it’s heart-wrenching pain. No one can understand the love a mother has for her child. Fatherly love and motherly love are different. A father’s love might be selfless, but a mother’s love is selfish. I must selfishly consider my son, and I cannot stand idly by as he jumps into the fire pit again and again. I cannot. Every time I see him injured, my heart is filled with immense pain. I really want to rush over and stop her training, but I can’t do that. The country has its laws, the family has its rules. This is the path he chose, and indeed, he should bear the consequences himself. But as a child, is it really his fault?”

”Child, maybe you still don’t understand, this isn’t about whether there’s a mistake—it’s about whether this should be done at all. Since he chose this path, he must walk it alone. No one can help him, and no one can bear the pain for him. Different choices lead to different consequences. Since he chose this path, what reason do you have to regret it?

I know you care about your son; he is also my family, so how could I not care? But caring is one thing, and some things that shouldn’t be violated simply cannot be violated. It has to be done the way it should be done. Don’t you understand?

Even though you see your child training so hard, and your heart feels distressed and uncomfortable, have you ever thought that one day, this training will be beneficial for him? He won’t be like before, without any means when facing difficulties. He will know what kind of help he needs. This is very beneficial for a child’s growth. You cannot let your selfish motherly love deprive your son of the right to grow.

If you think you are also right, then think carefully about how to ensure these matters conclude peacefully. I don’t know what happened between you and your husband. Whatever happened, you should consider the problem from the child’s perspective, shouldn’t you? The child is not so small now; he knows right from wrong. But if you so easily give up on your child, won’t your heartache and be pained for a lifetime of regret?”

”Grandpa, to be honest, a classmate from middle school appeared, and my husband has argued with me more than once because of this. Do you think there’s any need for me to continue living with him? I can’t bear it. I can’t bear him doubting me over and over again. You know, for a couple, the most important thing is mutual trust. If there’s no trust between them, what is the point of living together?

I also know that for him, being a man, he has his own dignity as a man. Doesn’t that mean as a woman I have no self-respect? Doesn’t my heart ache? When he doubts me time and again, where does that leave me? Has he ever considered my feelings? What I really want isn’t much; being able to have a happy and fulfilling life as a family is enough. But for him, it seems I’ve always been too eager for these things. He never considers what I really want, always forcing his ideas onto me. Do you think this is fair to me? If I can’t even have fair treatment, then what right do I have to continue living like a beast of burden in this home, with him?”

I know it’s also because I’m a commoner, many think I married him just for his money. But I ask myself sincerely, I’ve never coveted his wealth. In this regard, I have a clear conscience wherever I go. I have never cared about how much money he can or cannot give me. What matters is whether I can spend my life with a man I truly love. However, I realize that no matter how much I loved her, in the end, I find there’s no way for us to reach the end!

Grandpa, do you understand the feeling of wanting to live but unable to, and wanting to die but unable to? Do you understand the feeling of being humiliated over and over by your own family? You probably haven’t endured it, but I really can’t take such blows anymore. No matter how much I love her, I cannot endure it—a man who repeatedly insults my dignity as my husband, to live an entire life with him faithfully.”

Old Master Zhang didn’t know what exactly his grandson had said to make his granddaughter-in-law so angry. Perhaps this matter wasn’t as simple as he thought. But why should it escalate to the extent it has between them? This matter could obviously have been resolved more gently. What’s the meaning of continuing such conflict?

”As a mother, at the very least, one must be willing to sacrifice everything for their son!

Isn’t it true that everyone in the world would abandon everything for their child? If you can abandon all your self-respect for your son, how could your husband not care about you? He doubts you so much only because he cares too much about you. He also lacks security. He’s afraid of losing you. Trust between a couple is mutual; you respect him, and he respects your son. Once one party does something against the other, there will definitely be conflict. You understand these principles!

Think carefully. If you feel that leaving is the best choice for you, then leaving, Grandpa will not stop you. However, Grandpa hopes you can think clearly. You still have a five-year-old child at home waiting for you. Are you really willing to leave?”

Are you living well now?
