My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2274: Chapter 2107: Don’t Let Go

All feelings are earned through hard work, not just given casually.

”I used to be too excessive, that’s why I did such excessive things. How could I treat you all like this? He is supposed to be my future father-in-law and mother-in-law. If I treat him like this, if you don’t want to be with me anymore, what should I do? I’m just like this, foolishly making my most beloved angry. I always tend to push away those who care about me...”

”Alright, everything is in the past now, let’s not dwell on it. If we can continue living lovingly from now on, that’s enough for us. Don’t think about those past things anymore, those things that made us sad. People should look forward, not always remember the past. If a person can never forget the pain of the past, they will never be able to move forward in life. Society is cruel, and the heavens are fair. If you lose something, it will compensate you with something else. Isn’t there a saying that when one door closes, another window opens? It’s always balanced, never stifling you.”

”But I did so many things that hurt you in the past, said so many hurtful things, do you really not hate me at all?” Zhang Yichen couldn’t believe Ran Zhihan truly didn’t hate him for everything he had done in the past that was so hurtful, but now, the woman he loved was taking care of him with such devotion. Could it really be out of love for him?

”Fool, why would I hate you? You are my husband; I want to spend my life with you. If I choose to hate you, wouldn’t I be doing myself a disservice? You’ve done so much for me, even at the expense of shutting out your parents. I truly appreciate it, but do you know? Even though I appreciate it, I don’t agree with you doing that. After all, they are your parents. You can’t act like that. As a child, no matter how parents try to sow discord between their children, no matter what role they play in their children’s lives, children shouldn’t hate or hurt them. Because parents are never wrong; they just want their children to be happy and joyful. For every parent, this is their greatest hope in life. They don’t expect to have a lot of money; they don’t expect their son to be very handsome; they just hope their son’s life will be happy and joyful. That’s enough for them as parents...”

”Perhaps you’re right, but I can’t be as insightful as you are. I’ve always thought my parents repeatedly hurt me not out of love, but because they wanted to completely destroy me. So every time they did something to hurt me or hurt you, I couldn’t stand it. I just wanted to drive them out of my home forever, so they’d never be able to take a step inside again. But sometimes when I think about it, what I did was truly wrong. Just like you just said, regardless of what a parent does, they always hope their children live happily and joyfully. How could I hate them for loving me like that? I once hated my parents deeply, but now I don’t hate them anymore. On the contrary, I appreciate them. If it weren’t for their attempts to sow discord between us repeatedly, if it weren’t for their repeated harm between us, none of us would realize how much we care about each other. Don’t you think so?”

”What you just said is very true. It seems you’ve understood now. I heard that your parents have divorced. I don’t know what led them to divorce, but I hope you, as their son, can persuade them a bit. Both of them are middle-aged now, and deciding to divorce isn’t a good outcome for anyone. After all, I believe they have been living together for ten years, and their feelings for each other are really deep. They shouldn’t give up because of a small matter. Spending so many years together as a couple wouldn’t make sense to give up so easily. If that’s the case, who would dare to get married? Everyone would think, if ten years of marriage barely withstands the test, what’s the point in getting married?”

”Whatever I say now is useless. My parents have already gotten their divorce papers, and there’s no turning back for them. You know my mother’s temper is one of stubbornness. Once she makes up her mind, ten cows can’t pull her back. Now that she has made all these decisions, how could she turn back?” Zhang Yichen sighed as he said. He truly felt helpless about these matters.

”Actually, I know, Auntie’s temper is indeed a bit too stubborn. Many times Uncle can’t handle her, let alone you, who haven’t lived with her for so many years. But Yichen, have you ever thought about why her temper has become so important? Could it really be that she was born with a stubborn temper? She’s just been through too much, doesn’t want to get hurt because of anyone anymore, and doesn’t want the people she cares about to get hurt because of others. That’s why she developed this stubborn temper. Perhaps it’s precisely because of this stubborn temper that none of you understand her. You always think she’s naturally bad-tempered. So why should I tolerate her? You’ve never thought about how lonely Auntie feels inside. All these years, Auntie has gone through so many things alone. She bears the pain of missing her son and still has to smile forcibly in front of others. Isn’t that a painful thing for a woman?”

”Zhihan, I know you’re saying all this just to cheer me up, but I really don’t want my mother to get hurt because of anyone. Watching her with a daily troubled expression makes me anxious. She clearly could continue to live happily, but she chose to sever her future life path. I don’t wish for my mother to make great sacrifices for me. I just hope my mom can live peacefully and have a happy marriage. But due to my reasons, my mother was hurt, and now she’s divorced, and her marriage is gone forever...”

”Don’t lose hope, I’ll find time and help persuade Auntie!”

Many things seem simple to imagine but are difficult to do!
