My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2261: Chapter 2094: Once Again

If the leaves fall to the ground and silver covers the season, I still can’t let go of you.

Ran Zhihan decided to visit Old Master Zhang at the hospital before leaving. After all, Old Master Zhang had always taken good care of her since she married into this family and never deliberately made things difficult for her. She’s not someone who doesn’t repay kindness. Since her grandfather has been good to her, why should she avoid him? No matter what has happened between her and her husband, she shouldn’t vent her anger on her relatives, especially since they genuinely love her.

Old Master Zhang was pleased to see his granddaughter-in-law come to the hospital to visit him. It had been a long time since he’d seen her, and he’d been eagerly waiting for her visit. Although he always hoped his grandson would have another child, he also desired his grandson’s company. Regardless of what their relationship might have been, once you decide to be together, there are things you must face.

”Zhihan, you’ve come. Why did you decide to visit Grandpa today? I’ve been waiting here for you all to visit me. Why didn’t you bring my great-grandson?

I haven’t seen him for a long time, and I miss him dearly. I want him to come and see me, his great-grandfather.

Have you all been particularly busy lately? Or has something happened at home? Why do you all never visit me, leaving me alone in the hospital? Grandpa even thought you had forgotten about me. If you hadn’t come today, I would’ve really thought you didn’t remember me and intended to leave me alone in the hospital while you live a blissful married life. But seeing you visit Grandpa today made him genuinely happy. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you, and I truly miss you all!”

Ran Zhihan felt a deep pain inside. Why must such things happen to her? She now wants to live together with her family, but why is it so difficult? Is all of this punishment because she betrayed her family? She never thought things would turn out like this. All she wanted was a stable and happy life, but all this trouble was caused by her own mistakes. Should others really take the blame for her wrongdoings?

No matter how incompetent she feels or how unbearable her past life was, or the pain and heart-wrenching injuries she has endured, she can never dodge these matters. What must be faced will always be faced; no one can escape the past. Only by facing everything calmly might things become less awkward. From any perspective, they have no reason to conceal things for her repeatedly; only by choosing to face it calmly might she find a different path.

”Grandpa, I mainly came today to tell you that I have some matters that might require me to go on a business trip, and I might not return for a while. I’ll leave the household matters to you. You know what types of dishes your grandson likes to eat every day, and when I’m not around, he can enjoy some peace. I don’t want to disturb his work with any issue anymore. I want to go out to unwind and also hope to see how vast the world truly is. I hope you can allow me.”

Upon hearing this, Old Master Zhang realized the matter was not as simple as he thought. Could it be that this young couple is having some conflict or is there some hidden secret they’ve kept from him? Seeing his granddaughter-in-law so upset, has there truly been a problem between them?

”Zhihan, is there a problem between you and Yichen? Why would you suddenly say such things to Grandpa? You know, hearing you say these words makes me feel really troubled. Grandpa always considered you as his own child. If you suddenly leave, how can Grandpa bear it? He’s gotten used to having you in the house, but if you suddenly leave, how lonely must it be for Grandpa to return home alone!”

”Grandpa, this matter is nobody’s fault but mine. I made a mistake and now want to get away and reflect on the mistakes I’ve made. I know you’ve always loved me, but I hope you understand that once certain mistakes happen, one must take responsibility. I just had a huge fight with my husband and can’t live with him because I can’t understand why he, having endured so much pain in the past, would want his son to experience it all over again. As parents, shouldn’t we wish for our children to grow up happy?”

I no longer know how to comfort my son. Watching him train desperately every day, as his mother, my heart aches so much that no one can truly understand. I just hope my son can grow up happy, without suffering any further torment, without hatred in his eyes, and not blinded by vengeance.

Grandpa, do you understand my inner pain? I really don’t know what to do anymore. Is my leaving the only way these matters can peacefully settle? I truly don’t know how to express it; I just want my son to have a happy childhood. Everyone only gets one childhood, and those children who don’t have a happy childhood suffer endless hardships once grown up, all just to prove their strength to those they care about. I don’t want my son to live such a painful life; he should have a happy childhood. He’s merely a child; what sin has he committed? Why do adult issues have to affect the child?”

Old Master Zhang sighed, knowing there’s some truth to the matter, yet he’s not the best person to intervene. Everyone chooses their own path and ultimately receives different outcomes. Since a path has been chosen, why resent others? The path chosen can’t be avoided; hiding doesn’t work. So one can only toughen up and walk it, right?

”Child, each person’s journey is chosen and decided by themselves. Once they’ve chosen this path, they can’t escape what they will face, so they might as well undertake and face it themselves. Perhaps in doing so, they’ll grow up faster, isn’t it?”

If I never return to the same place, I make a dream for you, having you makes all the difference.
