My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2277: Chapter 2110: Conviction

No matter what one has done, no one truly wants to get what they wish they wouldn’t lose.

Zhang Ni didn’t expect his father’s anger to turn towards him. He just came in thinking that once he was fit in, why is it so difficult? He often tried to persuade his parents not to quarrel, but he couldn’t. Yet now his father blames him for being unruly, making all these days of studying in vain. If his father knew what he had done, he might hit him to death. Zhang Ni couldn’t understand why his parents quarreled, when clearly they could live happily, but instead choose to spend their days in arguments. Are their days truly that boring?

”Dad, don’t be so harsh to me, you scared me. I saw that you and mom have been arguing for so long without stopping, so that’s why I came in without knocking. It’s not something anyone taught me; I probably forgot it in a moment of panic. I promise I’ll remember the rules well in the future. When I enter or leave your room, I will definitely knock!”

”You dare lie and say you didn’t know? If no one taught you these things, how do you dare to openly barge into my bedroom? I’m telling you this matter, I’m absolutely not going to just let it go. Who directed you to do this? You better tell me clearly when talking, this matter isn’t going to be easy. You haven’t learned any rules after so many days, so why did you bother learning rules? Who was it that swore to me that he would prove himself to his grandparents and let them know how strong he is? Is this how you fulfill your promises? Where did your vow go? Where did your courage go? Where did your masculinity go? Making mistakes and dare not admit, still deflecting responsibility? Do you think this is the behavior of a man? You simply don’t deserve to be my son. I’ve acted with integrity and honesty my whole life. How could I have a son like you? How long have you been eavesdropping outside the door? Did you hear me and your mom arguing for so long without stopping, so that’s why you barged into our bedroom without knocking? Do you think this is how to be our son? You don’t even have the basic courtesy. I greatly overestimated you. From now on, you’ll be reflecting on your mistakes at home. Without my permission, no one is allowed to let you out. If you dare escape on your own, don’t think about coming back this life. I’m serious this time when I solemnly say this to you!” Zhang Yichen was furious with his son. He was already at his wits’ end, feeling like his whole head was throbbing, and why did his son have to come in and stir things up? Were he and his mother colluding together from the start?

Zhang Ni was shocked by his father’s words, never had his father spoken so sternly to him. Now his father is confining him at home, not allowing him to go out. It seems his mother has really angered his father. This time he doesn’t have the means to resolve it himself, since he can’t leave. What can he do, sneak out? Seeing his father’s expression, he knows this time his father is truly angry, and isn’t joking. If his father had said this before, he might have quietly snuck out. But not today; today if he sneaks out, his father will erupt in fury. What will he do then? He should think carefully before acting, or things will truly turn ugly for him. His father isn’t going to let him off so easily.

”Yichen, the child did nothing wrong. Why do you want to punish the child? This is my fault, why drag the child into this? He just heard us arguing and came in out of concern; isn’t that okay? If he remained indifferent hearing his parents argue, how qualified is he to be my son? Why are you so angry?”

”What for you don’t know? It’s to make you openly admit your mistake. I don’t mind telling you this time, no matter what little tricks you play, even if you call my grandfather, I’ll still deal with you strictly. He’s young and misbehaving, actually eavesdropping outside for so long before barging in. He thinks I didn’t know, but he doesn’t know I realized someone was outside long ago. I thought it was grandfather, so I didn’t say anything because he wouldn’t meddle in my family issues without reason. But I didn’t expect it to be my son barging in. My son eavesdropping on his parents’ conversation is unacceptable in my home. Eavesdrop if he will, the punishment will be the same. Since he likes eavesdropping, I’ll punish him with confinement at home, not stepping a foot out the door. Let’s see what he does. If he’s so capable, let him escape like before. If he dares escape, he won’t be my son. He won’t step into the Zhang Family home again, I mean it!”

Zhang Ni realized this time he’d walked right into trouble unexpectedly, not expecting his parents’ relationship had become so tense. Had he not barged in, maybe his parents wouldn’t have continued their standoff, and he wouldn’t be implicated and punished with confinement. It seems he really needs to think before acting from now on, considering whether something should be done. Or he might be shut at home and never get out again, he might be a magnet for trouble, doing things without thinking, always entangled in situations. Now he’s locked at home, what should he do?

”Don’t even think about leaving; you can’t. I’ll confiscate everything you might use to leave! Just stay home in peace, don’t think about going out...”

Thinking of the deep feelings between you and me stirs emotions within my heart.
