My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2282: Chapter 2115: Longing

In the dream, I am foolishly attached, but where are you now?

Ran Zhihan decided to visit Old Master Zhang in the hospital before leaving. After all, since she married into the family, Old Master Zhang has always taken good care of him and never deliberately made things difficult for him. She’s not the kind of person to be ungrateful. Since her grandfather has been kind to her, why should she avoid him? No matter what happened between herself and her husband, she shouldn’t take it out on her relatives, especially when they truly love her.

Old Master Zhang was happy in his heart to see his granddaughter-in-law come to visit him at the hospital. He was thrilled; he hadn’t seen her come to see him for so long, and he had finally waited for her. Although he has always hoped for another child from his grandson, he also hopes for his grandson’s company. No matter what their past feelings were, once they’ve decided to be together, there are things they must face.

”Zhihan, you’re here. What made you think of visiting Grandpa today? Grandpa has been waiting for you to come see me here. Why didn’t you bring my great-grandson?

I haven’t seen him for a long time, and I miss him now. I want him to come and see this great-grandpa.

Have you been particularly busy lately, or did something happen at home? Why do you all never come to see me? Leaving me alone in the hospital, Grandpa thought you’d forgotten about me. If you hadn’t come today, I would really believe you forgot about Grandpa, leaving me alone in the hospital while you enjoy your married life together. But I’m really happy to see you today. I haven’t seen you for so long, and I really miss you both!”

Ran Zhihan felt so much pain in her heart. Why did such things happen to her? She just wanted to live with her family, but why is it so hard? Is it all punishment for betraying the family? She never thought such things would happen. All she wanted was a peaceful and happy life, but was she to let others take the blame for her mistakes?

No matter how incapable she feels, no matter how unbearable her past life was, or what pain and heartbreak she experienced, she can never avoid these things. What must be faced will always be faced. No one can escape the past. Maybe only by facing everything calmly can things not be so awkward. From any perspective, they have no reason to hide things for her repeatedly. Only by choosing to face it calmly may she find a different path.

”Grandpa, I mainly came today to tell you that I might be going on a trip for a while and won’t be back for some time. I hope you can take care of things at home. You know what kind of food your grandson likes, and without me around, he can have some peace. I don’t want to disturb his work for any reason. I want to go out and clear my mind. I also hope to see how big the world is. I hope you can allow me this.”

Old Master Zhang knew that things were not as simple as they seemed when he heard this. Was there a conflict between the couple? Or was there an untold secret they were keeping from this old man? Seeing his granddaughter-in-law so troubled, was there indeed a problem between the couple?

”Zhihan, is there a problem between you and Yichen? Why would you suddenly say these things to Grandpa? Do you know that saying these words made Grandpa feel very sad? Grandpa has always regarded you as part of the family. If you suddenly leave, how can Grandpa’s heart handle it? Grandpa is used to having you at home, and if you suddenly leave, how lonely will he be back home alone!”

”Grandpa, this has nothing to do with anyone else. I made a mistake and want to go out to clear my mind and reflect on what I did wrong. I know you always loved me, but I hope you can understand that once mistakes are made, one must take responsibility. I just had a big argument with my husband. I can’t live with him because I can’t understand why he wants his son to experience the same pains he endured. Shouldn’t parents want their children to grow up happily?

I don’t know how to comfort my son. Watching him train so hard is heart-wrenching for me as his mother. No one can understand my feelings. I just hope my son can grow up happily and not suffer any more pain or be blinded by hate.

Grandpa, can you understand my pain? I really don’t know what to do. Is leaving the only way to let things settle peacefully? I don’t know what to say. I just want my son to have a happy childhood. Everyone only has one childhood, and it’s because these kids didn’t have a happy childhood that they endure hardships when they grow up, just to prove their worth to those they care about. I don’t want my son to live so painfully. He should have a happy childhood. He’s just a child, what did he do wrong? Why must adult affairs affect him?”

Old Master Zhang sighed. He knew these things indeed made sense, but he wasn’t in a position to intervene. Everyone chooses their own path, and the outcome will be different. Since they chose this path, what reason is there to blame others? The path they chose is inescapable. All they can do is bravely walk it, right?

”Child, everyone’s path is their own choice. Since he chose this path, he can’t avoid what’s to come. It might be better to let him take responsibility for himself, to face it. Perhaps that way, he will grow up faster, don’t you think?”

The love in my heart will not change because of anything but because you are in my heart.
