My Alleged Husband

Chapter 2267: Chapter 2100: Mediocrity

Perhaps everyone thinks I’m a very average person, but many times I still hope I can receive the most perfect evaluation.

Xia Jing will never believe in her husband, will never see marrying him as any sort of fortune. Maybe what he says now, he will gradually realize in the future that these words are just lies meant to deceive him.

For Zhang Zhentian now, the whole world has already collapsed, and all she wants is to return to her father’s side. But all of this was destroyed by her own hands, what right does she have now to say these words? My family has been torn apart by myself to this state, and sometimes, he himself regrets, why after giving so much, this is the result he got. What he wants isn’t much, but it seems what he wants is always beyond his reach, maybe what he most anticipates is something he’ll never attain.

”I hope you won’t say such insincere lies in the future, do you know? Not a word you said today do I believe, because I feel that these words are just to deceive me. You’ve lied too many times before, causing me to lose confidence in you. Since there’s no trust between us anymore, what do you think the point is of staying together, only causing each other more harm!

In the past, I could abandon everything recklessly for you, but now I can’t, because the day you abandoned me proved that I must change myself. I can’t foolishly give everything for you as I did before, because in your eyes I’ll never be rewarded. What you want is only that feeling of happiness in your heart, but you don’t understand what kind of happiness I desire in my inner world. Maybe that kind of happiness isn’t happiness to you?

Many times, when thinking in reverse, the difference in our thoughts is too vast. What I love, you do not; what I want to protect, you refuse to; what I respect, you always disdain. Because there are these differences between us, how can people with such differing views continue to live together? Letting go is the best outcome for both you and me. If we both let go, then our happy lives will still have a chance. If we continue to hold onto these things, then each other’s happiness will only be destroyed by each other...”

”Not a single word I said to you today was a lie. I just want to be truly with you. Being with you is the greatest fortune of my life. This is also the truth, it’s my heartfelt feeling speaking to you, but you chose to doubt me. You don’t believe me because you think every word I say is a lie. You never thought of believing in me for a moment, do you know? It pains me deeply inside. I don’t want much, only to be by your side!

You always feel that every word I say to you is to deceive you back to my side with false words. Am I really so worthless in your eyes? Am I really someone who would stop at nothing, filled with lies, to achieve their goal? Ask yourself, during the years together, have I ever done anything to wrong you? No matter how willful you are, I always treated you as the one I love most, but you? Have you ever truly treated me sincerely? Did you sincerely want to be with me for a lifetime?

I don’t understand why you continue to speak these lies, deceiving me time and again. Is our relationship so fragile that it can’t withstand even these lies? If your inner world truly believed in me, you wouldn’t weave lie after lie to deceive me, because the lies you create show your choice not to trust me. Without trust in a marriage, I scorn it. Gradually, I’ve realized that no matter what, I hope you’ll be by my side, what I want is just you to accompany me, never departing in life or death!”

Xia Jing sighed, unsure how to express these words. She knew every action she ever took was hard for anyone to accept, yet the man in front of her had given up so much for her, what right does she have now to demand more from him? But she is always so greedy, wanting time and again to ask from the one she loves, relying on his love to continue making unforgivable mistakes, but in the end, can he truly love unconditionally and sacrifice for her forever?

His heart knows well that her husband loves her deeply, even more than he loves himself. But he can’t look back, because once he has chosen this path, to look back would only lead to failure. He doesn’t want others to ridicule him, he doesn’t want others to call him a woman unable to stand on her own. She wants everyone to clearly see that she can survive without her husband, to prove to the world she is the strongest woman, to show women everywhere that a woman doesn’t necessarily have to live with her husband. As long as she has the ability, there will be a world of her own wherever she goes.

”Please stop saying these insincere lies to deceive me. From today, we will completely cut ties. I will not contact you again because contacting you only makes me remember the pain in my heart over and over. That kind of pain cannot be forgotten with a few words. The damage you caused me cannot be easily forgotten, nor can a few warm words completely erase everything you’ve ever said. You should know what you’ve done, deep down you understand a hundredfold. What was done can’t just be forgotten, clear things can’t just casually erase traces!”

”I’ve spoken so clearly today, yet you still choose to sever all ties with me? In your eyes, you truly don’t want to live with me anymore? Living with me is more unbearable for you than losing your life? Can’t you set aside your dignity, give up your so-called respect, and live with me properly, give us both another chance, wouldn’t that be better? Why lead us both down a path of no return?”

A mundane life is not imperfect, but there is no one who wishes for a mundane life all their life.
