Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 592: Chapter 91: Final Preparations

[Targeting the natural creation — Muskox, to plunder!]

[Plundering... Plundering complete!]

[Please choose one from the following three entries]

[Heat Fearing (Purple): You are afraid of hot weather, and you are more prone to heatstroke]

[Note: Look at my coat of fur, and you’ll know why I’m afraid of the heat! — Muskox]

[Dual Fur (Muskox) (Gold): You have acquired a new organ — Dual Fur (Muskox), you can now grow dense and heavy dual-layered fur, maybe you’ll never have to fear the cold again. ps: Organ entry, you can activate or deactivate this entry yourself, your body automatically adapts to the new organ, and the new organ will also adapt to your body]

[Note: As the northernmost hoofed animal in the world, you’ll envy this coat of fur! — Muskox]

[Impact (Purple): When colliding, you are less likely to get injured. During a collision, it’s easier to stagger the opponent, who is also more likely to fall or flee in fear]

[Note: In our herd, only through impact can the strongest muskox male be selected! — Muskox]

[Please make a choice or forfeit within one minute! If you exceed the time, the first entry will be automatically selected!]

The muskox entries are pretty decent.

[Dual Fur] is enough for Chen Wen to handle any cold weather.

Others may not know how warm the muskox fur is.

But for Chen Wen, who handled muskox pelts personally, he’s already looking forward to days covered with muskox blankets.

Muskox fur is very long!

Chen Wen measured it then, the longest fur on this muskox was a full sixty centimeters!

And that’s just the outer layer!

And the muskox’s inner layer of fluff is even warmer beyond compare.

When Chen Wen tried to cover himself with muskox skin, soon his forehead even had beads of sweat.

Can you believe it?

This entry might not be useful now, but if surviving in Antarctica later, it will definitely come in handy!

Besides, Chen Wen had previously acquired a similar [Impact] entry.

Plus, it was still purple.

After briefly considering, Chen Wen abandoned this entry.

Ultimately, Chen Wen chose [Dual Fur].

At night, he can test this entry’s effect.

Chen Wen thought.

After choosing the entry, Chen Wen quickly cleaned up the battlefield, finishing all the remaining food.

And just as he finished his meal.

The swapping arctic fox returned.

It sent the wolf mink to keep watch, while relaying important news to Chen Wen.

”That big bear is going to hibernate.”

The arctic fox said while eating the muskox meat Chen Wen shared, ”It didn’t come out all morning, so I tried approaching its den.”

”You know, I’m very stealthy, and the grey bear didn’t notice me when I went over, so I successfully got close to its den and took a look inside.”

”I found that grey bear lying motionless in its den, and I realized that this must be the hibernation you talked about. I didn’t disturb the big bear and retreated, observing from a distance the whole morning.”

Hibernation, that’s good news.

Chen Wen rubbed his chin, recalling information about North American grey bear hibernation.

Grey bears, or most bears, hibernating can be considered sleeping, but Chen Wen feels it’s more like a state.

He also tested hibernation effects himself, the entry [Variable Temperature] in the low body temperature state is similar.

Upon activating the low body temperature state, metabolism slows, body temperature drops, thoughts become sluggish...

It’s safe to say Chen Wen was sleeping then.

But he could still perceive external stimuli.

The grey bear is no exception.

The grey bear’s hibernation is deeper, at that time their vision is completely useless.

But smell and hearing remain.

If an unfamiliar animal appears at the grey bear’s den, or it smells food.

The grey bear can wake up quickly.

Also, minor noises might not wake the grey bear, but slightly louder sounds might startle it awake.

But anyway, at that time, the grey bear’s perception ability is greatly reduced.

This is the best time to hunt grey bears!

Chen Wen cannot pass up this opportunity!

He’ll think of a way to deal with the smell issue.

If necessary, crush pine needles and rub them on clothes to suppress his scent.

Therefore, he immediately began setting traps and systematically obtained food entries he hadn’t acquired before.

Three days later.

Chen Wen felt his trap was foolproof!

And within these three days, he acquired four new entries, namely, Fireweed’s [Bone Setting], Cranberry’s [Fruity Aroma], Snow Hare’s [Frenzy], and Rainbow Trout’s [Underwater Marathon].

[Bone Setting (Purple): Your bones will grow back faster after a fracture, you can try setting bones for other fractured creatures, increasing the success rate]

[Note: Heal quickly~ Heal quickly~ — Fireweed]

[Fruity Aroma (Blue): Your body will emit a strong fruity aroma, potentially attracting frugivorous creatures, increasing their aggression towards you]

[Note: The fruity aroma is something unavoidable with every type of berry, and we are no exception — Cranberry]

[Frenzy (Purple): You can actively enable the entry to become more frenzied, enhancing combat power, becoming more fearless, and doubling combat power and frenzy during breeding season]

[Note: As the old saying goes, mad like a March hare, don’t provoke me during that time! — Snow Hare]

[Underwater Marathon (Gold): You can swim underwater for a longer duration, significantly enhancing stamina recovery through consuming stored body energy, enhancing endurance, and increasing willpower]

[Note: We swim a marathon only once in a lifetime! — Rainbow Trout]

Chen Wen was still very satisfied with these four entries.

[Bone Setting] speeds up fracture recovery, Chen Wen hadn’t tested how fast it really is.

But looking at the purple entry, Chen Wen felt it shouldn’t be slow.

Additionally, setting bones for other creatures, increasing success rate, seemed really useful to him.

He planned, after this survival test, to see if he could learn some basic bone-setting methods.

In future survival scenarios, if encountering animals with fractures, his medical skills could also help them through crises.

[Fruity Aroma] is quite unique.

This was the first negative entry Chen Wen chose.

After choosing, it passively emits a faint fruity aroma, attracting aggression from berry-eating animals.

After choosing, a special animal by his side, the arctic fox, was slightly affected.

But it wasn’t aggressive, just found Chen Wen more pleasant smelling.

But the impact on intellectually lacking animals was much more severe.

This entry’s negative effect is relatively serious, but the effect is excellent in masking scent.

[Frenzy] felt ordinary to Chen Wen.

After all, he already had quite a few entries that lower IQ.

And he didn’t really like such entries.

But he had no other choice, so he just picked this one.

The last one, [Underwater Marathon], was really good.

In future survival near water bodies like rivers, lakes, or seas, this entry will become very useful.

Up to this point, Chen Wen had obtained all previously unacquired entries.

And the traps were ready.

Hunting the grey bear is about to begin!
