Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 576: Chapter 75: Crafting Stone Long Spears

After a few seconds of chaos.

The reindeer finally managed to escape the area, while Vini lay on the ground, looking as if he had been ravaged and filled with despair.

Are you okay?

Everyone couldn’t help but wonder.

But soon, a sharp-eyed guide said, ”It’s okay! He’s fine, he’s waving at us!”

On the screen, Vini waved at the drone and then slowly sat up.

He covered his waist and knee, and slowly sat up.

”I’m fine, just got hit in the waist by the reindeer in the rush and stepped on, but it didn’t hurt the bones, nothing serious.”

This made Vini’s assistant breathe a sigh of relief.

Thankfully!

If he had withdrawn, it would have been humiliating.

It’s not even a third of the way through.

After Vini sat up, he immediately looked at his prey.

The young North American reindeer had already fallen at this point.

Injured in the trachea, it was almost impossible for it to survive.

Blood had flooded into its trachea, causing immediate suffocation, and now it was in its last moments.

”So difficult!”

Seeing this scene, even though it was a moment to be happy, Vini let out a heartfelt sigh.

No matter how well you train normally, once you’re in the wilderness.

Facing all kinds of unexpected situations, it’s hard to adjust and cope.

He now realized this deeply.

...

Watching the limping Vini go handle the prey, everyone felt sentimental.

”The difficulty of hunting solo prey is indeed much lower than hunting in groups!”

A Hunter Guide couldn’t help but say, ”Not to mention the contestants don’t have companions, so if they encounter unexpected situations, they have to adjust and cope themselves, and that’s... too difficult!”

At this time, someone remembered something.

The guide who was on good terms with Lin Jiawei looked towards Lin Jiawei and said, ”Luckily, Chen Wen didn’t hunt musk ox today, otherwise, he would most likely have already met up with us.”

Musk oxen and North American reindeer are not in the same league.

Hunting North American reindeer herds is already hellish difficulty.

Musk oxen herds, that’s hell within hell!

Hearing this, everyone started discussing.

”Chen Wen hunting musk oxen is still too aggressive; a lone musk ox might be possible, but a herd... he might pay a huge price!”

”It’s too difficult! I estimate that only with hot weapons can it be done!”

”Even with hot weapons, it’s very difficult. My grandfather once hunted musk oxen, and he told me that in the old days, people would drive musk oxen to a dead end, forcing them into a circular formation for a final stand. While you can use hot weapons for stationary targets, an accidental charge by a musk ox would be a cataclysmic disaster.”

”My grandfather’s best friend was gored to death by a rampant male musk ox!”

This statement left everyone silent with fear.

The scene is just too terrifying!

Even just imagining it sends chills down your spine!

For Chen Wen to want to hunt musk oxen, especially in the presence of a herd, is incredibly difficult!

...

At night.

Chen Wen returned to the camp with rabbits and the animals.

He distributed the food and began inspecting the prey that Old Wolf had brought back for the first time.

”This is a snow hare; where did you find it?”

Hearing Chen Wen’s question, the wolf mink, who was eating like crazy, raised its head and proudly said, ”I found it! I found the snow hare in the northeast before finding the musk ox!”

”Great job! Eat more!”

Chen Wen generously praised as he picked out the snow hare.

This snow hare could provide him with a new entry!

The snow hare belonged to Chen Wen.

But the Arctic hare hunted in the afternoon was given by Chen Wen to the wolf mink and the others to let them feast well.

Chen Wen himself took out some of the smoked bear meat he had stored and ate it.

Then he began to get busy.

Preparing to craft a long spear.

After all, the situation in the wilderness is ever-changing; no one knows when an accident might occur.

One must be fully prepared.

If the herd migrates tomorrow, it’s best to have a weapon ready.

With this in mind, Chen Wen started his actions.

The challenge of crafting a stone long spear lies in the spearhead.

As long as he can shape the spearhead, the rest is simple.

Unlike the last time on the deserted island, this time Chen Wen has ample time and equipment to craft a stone long spear.

He searched around the camp and quickly found the bark that was cut when he made the roof beam earlier.

Then he took out the rabbit skins he had processed during these days.

He laid the bark on his thigh and then layered the rabbit skin on top of the bark.

”What are you doing?”

After dinner, the red fox and Old Wolf came over, watching Chen Wen’s actions curiously.

The short-tailed weasel, having slept all day, also emerged from the shelter’s nooks and crannies.

It curiously observed Chen Wen but didn’t say much.

Instead, it quickly left the camp.

At night, this forest is its hunting ground!

No small rodents can escape this tiny beast of about twenty centimeters!

After sending off the short-tailed weasel, Chen Wen said, ”I’m going to forge a stone spearhead, or in other words, crafting a striking tool where flint is shaped into a spearhead through striking.”

These words left the two animals dumbfounded.

What the heck?

They could understand the meaning of each word.

But together...

They were truly baffled!

”Forget it, just watch.”

Chen Wen said, placing two pieces of flint on the rabbit skin.

He picked up one of them and aimed it at the edge of the other flint, striking it hard.

Thud!

With a dull noise, a small piece of flint on the rabbit skin was chipped off, leaving a shell-shaped break at the edge.

”Is he making a fire?”

The red fox asked in confusion.

It had just seen sparks and, thinking about the afternoon’s rabbit-catching incident, felt that Chen Wen was trying to make a fire.

However, Chen Wen shook his head and said, ”This isn’t making a fire, I’m crafting a weapon.”

Continuing, Chen Wen struck again.

Unlike the direct striking on the island previously.

This time, Chen Wen cushioned with bark and rabbit skin, with two soft layers plus the meat of Chen Wen’s thigh providing a buffer.

Ensuring that the flint didn’t snap abruptly when force was applied.

It also helped control the strike area and force better.

Shaping the piece as intended.

Efficiency innovation: High efficiency, high fault tolerance, high precision.

These are skills Chen Wen learned from materials at the association after the island experiences.

With this skill set, combined with Chen Wen’s luck and precise control over his strength.

The flint on his thigh was soon shaped into a spearhead.

Under the firelight, Chen Wen did a fine-tuning on the spearhead.

Soon, a sharp spearhead was completed!

Weighing the spearhead, gently feeling the point’s sharpness.

Chen Wen was quite satisfied.

This object, coupled with the effect of the entry ”Thorn,” and his own giant strength, should break through defenses, right?

Given the abnormal defense of the musk oxen, Chen Wen wasn’t entirely sure.

After putting down one spearhead, he started crafting another.

This time, he picked up about a dozen pieces of flint of various sizes.

He plans to craft ten flint pieces and turn them into ten stone long spears.

Ten spears, even if only one or two hit, they could bleed the old bull out!

If he accidentally hits a vital spot on its face, it might even cause serious injury.

At that moment, he’ll take out the brought long spear tool, one stab to determine victory!

Simply perfect!
