Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 563: Chapter 62: Eagle

”It’s dangerous!”

The stoat looked at the eagle with a decidedly serious expression.

It knew very well that once discovered by this eagle, it could be instantly killed!

Therefore, the stoat was quite relieved that the eagle’s target wasn’t it, but those rabbits it had partially eaten.

The wolf mink, however, wasn’t thinking much about it.

It curiously eyed this peculiar creature and asked, ”Dangerous? It doesn’t look big, how can it be dangerous?”

”Though not big, its speed is incredibly fast. When it swoops down from high in the sky, if you’re unprepared, it could pierce your head in one strike!”

Chen Wen said, raising the wolf mink’s alertness.

Most raptors have high attack and low defense. Their combat power seems unimpressive, but once they unleash an attack, most creatures find it difficult to resist them.

This eagle was exactly like that.

If its target had been the stoat or wolf mink, taken by surprise, it might have succeeded.

Fortunately, its target was the rabbits, not the wolf mink and them.

Chen Wen grabbed the base of the eagle’s wing and lifted it up.

The eagle seemed to have regained awareness.

It struggled fearfully, but what chance did it have of breaking free from Chen Wen’s grip?

Even a larger raptor wouldn’t necessarily escape Chen Wen’s grasp.

”This eagle... doesn’t look like a Golden Eagle.”

Observing the eagle’s appearance, Chen Wen said, ”It’s smaller than a Golden Eagle, the wingspan is insufficient, and its feather color doesn’t match. Considering the other raptors in this area... Could it be an Eagle?”

Before arrival, Chen Wen had seen an Eagle.

However, that was a pure white variant, short-beaked, owned by a Hunter.

Recalling the eagle’s appearance, Chen Wen felt these two creatures were somewhat similar.

An Eagle, huh.

Chen Wen became interested.

Eagles are not easy to tame, but they are more obedient than Golden Eagles.

If he could tame this one, it would undoubtedly be a great help.

With this thought, Chen Wen started contemplating taming the Eagle.

First, he needed to determine if this Eagle was a special animal.

If it was, that would make things easier.

With offers of food, accommodation, and protection, ninety-nine percent of special animals would succumb to this combo.

If it didn’t submit, there was no problem.

Chen Wen also had a trump card—life extension and healing!

The remaining one percent has no resistance against this trump card.

Chen Wen observed the Eagle, noticing no special characteristics.

Then, trying to incite an emotional change.

The system identifies special animals based on two criteria—special characteristics or strong emotions.

Special characteristics are fixed, while strong emotions can change.

Simultaneously, Chen Wen suspected that strong emotions might be secondary criteria.

However, regardless, to judge if an encountered animal is special.

First, look at the personality.

If the personality isn’t special, proceed to stimuli, observing strong emotions.

After two stimuli without special characteristics, that would signify the animal definitely isn’t special.

This Eagle could be stimulated, to determine if it’s special.

Chen Wen took out his hunting knife, but didn’t harm the Eagle directly.

He pinned the Eagle to the ground, searched around, and broke several slender pine twigs.

Using these flexible pine branches as ropes, he bound the Eagle’s wings from behind, then tied its legs together.

Making it unable to fly, and unable to run.

With this setup, the Eagle was like a domesticated chicken bound at the market, crouched on the ground unable to move.

Seeing the Eagle immobilized, Chen Wen began to implement his plan.

His idea was to kill a chicken to warn the monkey: taking a complete but dead polar rabbit.

Using his hand in the shadows, touching the rabbit’s body, causing it to tremble—as if coming back to life.

Then in front of the Eagle, using the hunting knife to cut open the rabbit, preferably spilling some blood.

Executing this, the Eagle’s emotions would definitely undergo drastic changes.

This was Chen Wen’s chance.

If the Eagle didn’t show intense emotions, the oldest and most primitive method of taming might be necessary.

...

With everything ready.

Chen Wen brought the polar rabbit to the Eagle.

His left hand pressed against the rabbit’s body, hidden behind, constantly tapping, causing movement.

Making the Eagle see the rabbit as alive.

The Eagle, bewildered by Chen Wen’s actions, watched in confusion.

But as Chen Wen wielded the hunting knife, stabbing into the rabbit’s body, simultaneously his left hand moved more quickly.

It was like the rabbit was in pain and in violent struggle.

This scene left the Eagle dumbfounded.

Then, Chen Wen fiercely moved the hunting knife, tearing the rabbit’s muscles, exposing its viscera as the muscles split.

Some blood followed.

Before the Eagle could recover, Chen Wen pulled out the hunting knife and tossed the rabbit in front of the Eagle.

Then, he pointed the hunting knife at the Eagle.

Now, unless the Eagle was foolish, it understood Chen Wen’s intent.

He intended to kill it!

Seeing the blood-soaked knife approaching, the Eagle began to struggle wildly.

Chen Wen pinned it down, fearing it would escape.

Slowly bringing the knife closer, the Eagle shrieked in terror.

[Fear]

With these two characters emerging from above the Eagle’s head, Chen Wen grinned.

Perfect!

This time, taming the Eagle would require less effort!

Moreover, fear as a sentiment, just showcasing amiability, coupled with the combo.

This Eagle wouldn’t resist!

...

”Hey, Eagle, now you have two choices before you.”

Chen Wen started speaking, clearing the Eagle’s muddled gaze.

Once the Eagle gained wisdom, it immediately struggled.

It repeatedly cried out, ”Don’t kill me! I’ll listen to you!”

Goodness, just like the Golden Eagle.

Chen Wen muttered, first putting on a grim expression, ”Two choices! Listen up!”

”First, be like that dead rabbit, killed by me with one strike...”

”I don’t want that! No!”

Before Chen Wen could finish, the Eagle, like a cat with its tail stepped on, fiercely reacted.

Chen Wen squinted, dodging the Eagle’s flapping wings, and controlled it.

This creature’s wingspan wasn’t small, roughly estimated at about 1.2 or 1.3 meters.

After pinning it down, Chen Wen said, ”Then the second option, listen closely—I’ll not kill you, and I’ll give you food, see this rabbit? It’s yours!”

Chen Wen nudged the rabbit before him, letting the Eagle see its blood once more.

The wolf mink squinting nearby felt this scene very familiar.

But having more friends was its wish.

More animals, greater strength.

This new addition could even simplify hunting.

Hearing Chen Wen’s words, the Eagle suspiciously glanced at him.

What kind of offer is this?

Not killing me, and giving me meat?

It dumbfoundedly asked, ”Are you sure? Is this rabbit mine?”

”Yes, it’s yours!”

Chen Wen nodded, ”But in return, I need you to help me find prey, even assist in hunting. Of course, you’ll have a share in the prey, I’ll also protect you and provide a safe haven.”

This left the Eagle astounded.

Could there be such a good thing in the world?

It found it hard to believe.

In face of the Eagle’s skepticism, Chen Wen brought the wolf mink into the conversation, simultaneously enabling the Eagle’s communication ability.

With the wolf mink joining in persuasion, the initially doubtful Eagle believed completely!
