Wilderness Survival with Druid System

Chapter 564: Chapter 63: Taming the Eagle

Eating a lot, living safely, if other animals come to attack you, humans will help you fight back.

The description of the Wolf Mink kept echoing in the Eagle’s mind.

It listened, somewhat entranced.

”But you also have to work!”

The Wolf Mink saw the Eagle immersed in thoughts of future life and reminded it, ”You have to hunt!”

”No problem!”

The Eagle agreed immediately, ”I’ll join you! I promise not to betray! As long as there’s enough food!”

Hearing this, Chen Wen felt a sense of familiarity.

He glanced at the Wolf Mink with a look as if to say, is this your relative?

This made the Wolf Mink quite displeased.

Am I that greedy?

No, right!

But regardless, the Eagle joined Chen Wen, and the system gave Chen Wen a notification as well.

The Eagle’s entry can now be extracted.

However, Chen Wen didn’t rush to extract it.

First, he untied the Eagle, then bestowed it with the Animal Doctor’s blessing.

Having just knocked the Eagle down with a long spear, it would have caused it considerable harm.

The Eagle felt the blessing and said, somewhat surprised, ”What a strange feeling, you’ve made me healthier!”

Chen Wen smiled and nodded.

And only then did he open the system.

Two extraction opportunities, let’s see if anything good can be extracted!

The quality of the terms extracted through healing was average.

Chen Wen took a look; there was only one suitable option, not much choice.

[Claw (Eagle) (Purple): You’ve acquired a new organ—Claw (Eagle), you can now attempt to tear through everything with sharp claws. ps: Organ entry, you can activate or deactivate this entry at will, your body will automatically adapt to the new organ, and the new organ will also adapt to your body]

[Note: Eagle Claw Skill? Have you seen the real deal? —Eagle]

Organ entries are not suitable for use in front of the camera.

Moreover, without a disguise, Chen Wen did not try the power of this entry.

But looking at the Eagle’s sharp claws, Chen Wen was quite sure that the power of this entry was formidable!

Tearing through flesh and blood shouldn’t be an issue!

Moreover, based on the information he had read, a lot of the Eagle’s hunting skill points were allocated to its claws!

Its claws can easily tear through the abdomen of prey, allowing it to enjoy fresh innards.

So, the purple organ entry shouldn’t be too shabby.

After one extraction, there was still an extraction chance for taming the Eagle.

This time, the Eagle provided some pretty top-tier entries—three golden ones!

The first one was about flying, which Chen Wen decisively abandoned.

The [Wings] and [Flight Techniques] provided by the Golden Eagle were already sufficient, and any more flying entries would be useless to him.

And the second entry was impressive, being about hiding.

The Eagle is an animal that flies less frequently; they mostly hide among the branches of the forest, watching their prey.

Until they find a confirmed target, they strike suddenly, killing the prey with incredible speed.

Just like what happened earlier.

Hence, their ability to hide in the forest is very strong!

Chen Wen assessed this entry’s effect and felt it was quite useful.

A backup option.

The third entry was about pursuit.

Chen Wen thought about it and ultimately abandoned it, as he did not like chasing prey.

So, Chen Wen chose the second entry.

[View Block (Gold): You can keenly perceive the direction the target is looking and quickly find a suitable place to hide. There’s a chance to be ignored when spotted by the target.]

[Note: With this ability, I am seldom discovered by prey in the forest, which is my key to successful ambushes every time! —Eagle]

The Eagle’s entries were quite impressive.

One boosts combat power by transforming hands into claws, a true Eagle Claw Skill!

Just ask if you can withstand it!

And the other allows for self-concealment, making it already difficult for hunters to spot in the forest. With this added, no forest animals can see me when deliberately hidden.

I’d be well-fed, wouldn’t I?

Chen Wen thought to himself.

In the end, he gained the entries and acquired a new assistant—Eagle!

Speaking of which, there really are quite a few special animals in this place!

Chen Wen realized this now.

This time, he encountered five special animals.

Wolf Mink, Red Fox, North American Gray Wolf, Short-tailed Weasel, Eagle!

So many!

Could it be that in places with more animals, there are more chances to encounter special animals?

Chen Wen couldn’t help but think.

But back in the Yukon, there were plenty of animals, and he traveled a lot, yet only encountered three special animals in three months.

Could unlocking the friend system increase the number of special animals?

Chen Wen speculated, but speculation could not be taken as truth.

Shaking his head, Chen Wen opened his eyes and looked at the Eagle.

At the moment, it was twisting its body, flapping its wings, seemingly checking its wounds.

However, Chen Wen had checked before; there were no obvious external injuries on the Eagle’s body.

Its wounds should be concentrated in the muscles.

”Can you fly?”

Chen Wen asked with concern.

The Eagle moved its body and nodded slightly, ”I should be able to.”

With a strong push from its two slender legs, the Eagle flapped its wings and soared up with a whoosh.

Chen Wen watched as the Eagle flew up, circling above his head a few times.

Finally, the Eagle landed steadily on a nearby branch, ”I can fly!”

That’s good!

Chen Wen’s mouth curled into a smile, a flying Eagle was undoubtedly beneficial to him now!

He immediately picked up the rabbit he had promised the Eagle earlier and waved it in the air.

Seeing the food, the Eagle swooped down excitedly.

Chen Wen placed the rabbit on the ground, signaling the Eagle to eat, and the Eagle wasted no time pouncing on the meat.

The Wolf Mink and Short-tailed Weasel also began to resume eating.

...

”Really lucked out!”

Seeing Chen Wen tame the Eagle, some raptor handlers were quite envious.

The Eagle is considered a relatively difficult falcon to tame, usually attempted by advanced hunters.

Compared to the Crested Hawk, it’s much more challenging.

But the Eagle Chen Wen encountered, according to the experienced guides, seemed unusual.

”This is an Eagle that’s been hungry for a long time, look at its belly, it’s very thin, indicating it’s been starved for a while!”

The guide said, showing a look of envy, ”In a situation with abundant food, such an Eagle is easy to tame. You saw earlier, Chen Wen let it fly, generally, an Eagle would fly away, but Chen Wen picked up the rabbit, and it instantly stayed behind.”

”As long as you control the Eagle’s food intake, to enforce obedience taming, this Eagle would quickly become Chen Wen’s hunting falcon!”

Upon hearing this, the falcon handlers around nodded in agreement.

Chen Wen indeed had a stroke of luck!

Generally speaking, the Eagle, being a top-tier predator, rarely experiences hunger.

So taming an Eagle is a task that requires tremendous effort.

You first have to restrain the Eagle, making it submit through starvation.

During this process, you’d have to feed it meat soaked in the falconer’s saliva, letting the Eagle get accustomed to the falconer’s scent.

This is just the first step.

Following is developing reflexes, building relationships, training the Eagle to understand commands...

All very complex tasks.

But Chen Wen effortlessly skipped the initial phase and jumped directly to the later stages, sparking envy among these veteran hunters who enjoy using falcons to hunt.

However, soon, as Chen Wen allowed the Eagle to eat without restriction, a guide frowned.

”Huh! Something’s off here?”

He rubbed his chin, ”If you let the Eagle eat to its fill, won’t it just fly away?”

”Could it be that Chen Wen has some unique method to make the Eagle stay?”
