Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 590: Chapter 425: Ghost Hotel (Part 2)

What a pity.

If it’s only such shallow means, they won’t be able to deal with him at all.

Baimu closed his eyes, feeling a reassuring warmth emanate from the hand wrapped in smoke-like tendrils. It was clearly Corsola reverse-transmitting the pure life energy accumulated over time into his body, maintaining his various life signs.

This special technique bears a resemblance to Blissey’s Healing Fluctuation in its ingenuity, but the price to pay is far higher than simply using a move.

If it weren’t for the emergency, Corsola would never do such a foolish thing.

And the presence outside seemed to notice Corsola’s actions as well, becoming more furious, evident in the way the cold wind shifted from a howl to the sound of cutting knives.

The bathroom was seemingly piled with varying sizes of snow, yet the bathtub remained in its initial dry state.

Such bizarre circumstances further validated Baimu’s suspicions.

Suddenly.

The wind stopped.

The bathroom was plunged into a deathly silence.

But before Baimu could guess whether the presence had left, a clattering sound associated with movement rang at the door.

They’re coming in!

His eyes widened, feeling Dragapult in his arms tense slightly, and as his head moved slightly, he noticed Corsola had also opened its candle-like red eyes.

However.

The tacit understanding developed with Corsola over the past months told Baimu that what it focused on wasn’t the entity entering the bathroom, but the bathtub beneath them!

Eh?

Baimu paused, and then he was suddenly propelled upwards.

Yes, with a thud and a piercing scream, he flew directly from the bathtub to the ceiling.

”Ah——!!”

It felt like a tightly compressed spring had been attached to his back, a tremendous force pushing him into close contact with the ceiling. Fortunately, his quick reflexes allowed his hand and toes unencumbered by smoke-like tendrils to press against the ceiling, preventing him from getting dizzy from the impact.

In the moment of falling due to inertia, he looked forward and discovered the bathtub was transforming and rushing towards the entity entering the bathroom—

’Death God Coffin’ and ’Froslass’!?

Wait! It doesn’t seem right!

How could Froslass look so thin and strange? Like the ghost in a horror movie.

And those ice beads hanging from its waist.

Could the clattering sound be from them colliding with each other?

Baimu attempted to get a closer look but found the transforming Death God Coffin bathtub had already swallowed the attacking ”Froslass”, while he was stepping on something soft.

Looking down, he saw himself stepping on the broad palm of Black Night Spirit emerging from a pitch-black gap—

It’s Furong’s Black Night Spirit!

Baimu recognized it easily, and it seemingly recognized him as well, gently placing him aside.

Then.

Beside it appeared a human head adorned with two red flowers.

”As expected, this is the real entrance!”

Furong cheerfully surveyed the surroundings, immediately noticing the Death God Coffin at the door restraining something, then glanced at Baimu.

”Baimu! You’re really here!”

She seemed completely unaware of the peculiarity of the environment, behaving as if at home, emerging from the dark gap alongside Black Night Spirit.

Following her was Bonnie, with a notably indifferent expression, and the large Glalie.

However, upon seeing Baimu standing beside her, her frowned quickly deepened, approaching him as if preparing to question, but speaking with concern: ”Are you okay? Are you hurt?”

”...I’m fine.”

Baimu shook his head, the tiger’s mouth already stimulated for self-healing by Corsola’s life energy infusion.

He looked towards the Death God Coffin at the door, completely unprepared for the fact that the bathtub he had been lying in transformed into this entity, and despite lying in it for so long, hadn’t been made into a mummy.

Perhaps because it hadn’t made a sound?

Furong approached the door, seeing the Death God Coffin completely sealing the invader inside, after carefully observing she said: ”So you’ve been blocking the entrance all along? No wonder we couldn’t get in!”

Truly fearless, she casually spoke and reached to touch the coffin’s golden mask.

Unexpectedly, upon touching the golden mask, a voice emanated from its mouth.

”Young spirit medium, you are quite lucky.”

”Lucky? What sort of luck?”

The unexpected comment left Furong momentarily stunned.

The golden mask on Death God Coffin’s forehead replied, ”Every person who dares disturb my slumber at midnight faces imprisonment. You are not the first, but this time I shall let it slide.”

”Wow! What a bold claim!”

Furong was taken aback, for the head honcho of God-sending Mountain, undefeated by ghosts and spirits alike, was being taunted by a Ghost-type Pokémon!

But after surveying the surroundings, she suddenly raised an eyebrow and asked, ”Wait, are you the ’gatekeeper’ Pokémon?”

”Indeed.”

The voice from Death God Coffin was filled with pride.

Furong turned around to explain to the two confused individuals, ”Each entrance between reality and the Spirit Realm has a gatekeeper Pokémon. They generally assume this role voluntarily.

”They guide various spirits into the Spirit Realm and prevent them from wandering around freely, balancing the two worlds. Such Pokémon are usually very powerful, unlike ordinary Ghost-type Pokémon; they can do things like speak.”

Baimu nodded in sudden understanding.

No wonder that Froslass-like entity hesitated to enter but couldn’t resist in the end.

At this moment, Death God Coffin spoke again.

”If there’s nothing else, then take your companions and leave! Spirit medium! Though I’m not sure how you opened the rift, this is not a world for the living to wander freely!”

”Since we’re here, of course, there’s something we need to do!”

Furong confidently replied, casting a glance at Dreepy hiding in Baimu’s arms, ”Hey? When did you all get so close?”

When you tossed it to me to take care of.

Baimu grumbled internally, using his hands to bring Dreepy out, and informed it that the crucial moment for finding its brother had arrived.

Completely trusting in him, Dreepy immediately flew over.

”Dreepy!”

”Hmm.”

Furong glanced back and forth between it and Baimu but said nothing, merely asking Death God Coffin, ”This child’s brother seems to have arrived here through some means. Can you help us find him?”

Upon hearing this, Death God Coffin leaned over like a small mountain toward Dreepy, startling the latter considerably.

”...How can you be sure its brother is here?”

”Of course, through Divination Techniques! Since you know spirit mediums, you must be aware of our expertise!”

Furong proudly put her hands on her hips.

Divination Techniques?

Like the ones Gym Leader Olympia uses in the Carlos Region’s Hundred Moments Gym?

No, she seemed to gaze upon the past and future of Ash Ketchum’s Froakie with starlight, teasing its future of saving the Carlos Region and achieving a new evolution — Bond Evolution.

Baimu looked toward Death God Coffin, curious about its response.

Unexpectedly, Death God Coffin fell silent for a few seconds before replying, ”Then find him yourselves! In this Ghost Hotel!”

Ghost Hotel!

It allowed them passage to the outside, cautioning, ”But if you end up in some place, don’t blame me for not warning you. The tenants here are irritable; there are more formidable ones than Froslass, believe me!”

As Death God Coffin spoke, Baimu felt it seemed to be looking his way.

”Wait, may I ask, was it the Froslass who just tried to attack me?”

He quickly raised his hand and asked, ”But its form didn’t quite match the Froslass I remember, and those ice beads...”

”...”

Death God Coffin seemed disinclined to answer his question, hovering back to the pitch-black fissure atop its bathtub form, seemingly intending to guard this Spirit Realm entrance once again.

Just as Baimu felt dejected, its voice came through.

”That’s its human female disguise sculpted from ice and snow, aiming to deceive foolish, young humans like you! As for those ice beads... Hehehe, shall I say those are the souls of human males, do you believe?”

The laugh was sharp and piercing.

Human female disguise?

Sounds so convoluted, turns out it’s an ice and snow version of ’Painted Skin’! But this painted disguise... to be fooled by such an appearance, what heavy tastes!

Baimu mumbled internally as he recalled those ice beads, his heart involuntarily quivering.
