Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 561: Chapter 413: The Hall Master’s Trump Card

”Teacher! Doing this is against the rules!”

Walt said hurriedly.

Although the Gym Leader can adjust the Pokémon selection based on the challenger’s strength, that is done during pre-match preparations. How can there be a reason for temporary replacement during the match?

This might lead to a complaint to the league. At best, the Gym Leader would be held accountable; at worst, the Gym might have to shut down for corrections.

The league is always very strict with the Gym, which holds significant power. Even a minor issue will result in sending a Pokémon Inspector to investigate, and even small discrepancies can lead to closure for corrections.

”It’s okay, it’s okay!”

With great nonchalance, Tie Xuan waved his hand, suddenly turning to look at Baimu and asking, ”Little brother Baimu, do you mind? I suppose you would also like to battle against stronger Pokémon, right?”

”...Yes, feel free.”

The latter had no objections.

”Hahaha! Wonderful, wonderful!” Tie Xuan laughed loudly, replacing the two Pokeballs in his hand with high-grade balls from the wall.

Only two Pokémon huh...

Baimu felt a bit disappointed yet somewhat relieved.

Under normal circumstances, fighting four Pokémon again would be quite fun, but right now he felt that Mega Aggron was barely holding on and seemed likely to revert to its original form soon.

Perhaps it could only hold out for one more Pokémon before reverting?

Baimu and Mega Aggron exchanged glances, assessing each other’s mental state and making rough judgments.

After all, the time they could maintain Super Evolution was still too short. Starting from scratch, it had only been slightly less than half a month since they began researching and now, sending it out to battle in real combat, already knocking down two Pokémon was quite strong.

Once, he dreamed like in the game, where they could finish an entire match before reverting.

He realized through actual practice that he was overthinking.

It’s never that stable.

At least for now, using himself as a reference, Baimu roughly understood why those strong trainers in the animation preferred to drag the tempo, not sending out Pokémon capable of Super Evolution at the start.

Because this thing is ”costly” and not lasting.

Suddenly.

Magic Space appeared in the field and shattered, leaving Baimu somewhat regretful. From a practical point of view, the larger the range of a move, the shorter the duration.

Magic Space is a typical example of this.

Had it not been for the majority of Gym Leaders having reliable character and no need to do so, he might have thought Tie Xuan was purposely dragging out the space—

It’s not like he couldn’t win.

Being defeated too many times, when Pikachu wiped out his entire team years ago, the old man merely thought he might be too old, maybe it’s time to retire.

When Ash Ketchum returned the badge wanting to battle again later, he was also refused, as it was deemed he deserved the badge.

”Heh heh heh—”

Tie Xuan returned holding two high-grade balls, a complacent smile reappearing on his face, ”Little brother Baimu! I must admit your Pokémon are indeed great! But the upcoming battle won’t be as easy for you to win! Prepare to face my strongest Pokémon!”

He shouted while hurling a Pokeball forward.

”Come on! Manectric!”

Bam!

A flash of white light and an elongated howl echoed.

”Whooo—”

The Manectric with a mix of blue and yellow fur, resembling the mythical creature Manectric, landed with a shimmering electric current appearing on its fur. The silvery white sparks were visibly flashing on its fur.

Static Trait huh...

”Sharp Stone Attack!”

”Roar!”

Mega Aggron growled deeply, smoke billowing from its mouth, countless sharp stones swirled around forming two rings of shattered stones, then were fired towards Manectric like a barrage of cannonballs!

Shoo shoo shoo!

The dense sharp stones were setting up a formidable fire coverage!

”Dodge with Lightning Flash!”

Tie Xuan’s shout drove Manectric to howl as it propelled its steps forward, its strong physique dodging the flying sharp stones with astonishing speed, causing a bright white path to flare up behind it, moving so quickly it even left afterimages.

Moreover, with each step, the hind legs covered by its pale yellow explosive fur sparked with electricity, seeming to travel by thunder.

Baimu knew it was using electric currents to stimulate muscles, significantly enhancing its movement speed, a special ability of Manectric.

The burst speed was not much slower than the previous Electrode.

Obviously, this guy was most likely Tie Xuan’s ”trump card” Pokémon, having evolved from an Electrike he met years ago in Old Mauville, later returning to challenge the Mauville Gym, rampant beating Ash Ketchum’s Torkoal unable to stand back up.

Using the top card at the fifth Gym Leader already?

Simply unreasonable!

Within mere seconds, Manectric arrived not far from Mega Aggron, but instead of leaping for a Fierce Dive, it abruptly changed direction using its front paw, attempting to bypass the latter’s front.

Its shape also began to flicker intensely, like something was brewing.

”Shadow Clone!”

”Quicksand Hell!”

Mega Aggron’s gaze darkened, growling lowly as numerous brown sandstorm surged from its body holes, sweeping across like a Sandstorm toward surrounding areas!

Boom!

The countless false shadows created by Manectric were instantly shattered by the storm of Quicksand Hell, the impact forced Manectric to be thrown away.

”Whooo!”

”Great prediction!”

Shocked but impressed, Tie Xuan praised, never expecting his and Manectric’s tactics would be seen through so easily, deliberately issuing commands slower to successfully counter the eyes-confusing Shadow Clone.

If he had struck first, Manectric might already have succeeded.

Baimu followed up with a commanding shout: ”Ten Thousand Horsepower!”

”Roar!”

Mega Aggron suddenly pounced towards Manectric, its massive body bizarrely reaching high altitude, surrounded by orange-red streams as it fell like a brilliant meteor!
