Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 576: Chapter 419: Conquering the World_2

”Missing? This should be Officer Jenny’s job, right.”

”If it’s ordinary people and normal Pokémon, it’s indeed better to leave it to Officer Jenny, but...” Furong’s smile remained, and a strange figure appeared under her right palm.

Bonnie’s eyes moved slightly, ”This is...”

——

In the hotel room.

Baimu washed up early and got into bed, rubbing Hydreigon’s head while playing with his phone.

Dr. Kukui hadn’t replied to the email yet.

Who knows what he would think seeing a situation like Aggron’s... I remember a paper on Imitation Vanilla was published by him two years ago, maybe he hasn’t continued the research since.

After all, his main research is on the special Z-Move indigenous to the Alola Region, rather than hereditary moves and Egg Moves.

Perhaps I should look for other papers that specifically study this...

In practical terms.

Even though Dr. Kukui is a familiar figure to players, there are countless renowned professors in the Pokémon animated world unknown to players.

With these thoughts, Baimu slowly drifted into sleep.

The other Pokémon also settled into their preferred spots, the dim bedside lamp casting a gentle warm glow over the small bedroom.

A silent and peaceful night.

Suddenly.

The television in the living room turned on by itself, the static screen with no signal capturing Aggron’s attention.

”Guh-ho?”

It raised its head, looking at the television in confusion. Among the team, only it and Mawile, as the bedroom ’gatekeepers’, would ever watch this thing, but since Mawile got a new phone yesterday, it hadn’t touched it at all.

What’s going on?

Aggron got up and extended its thick tail in an attempt to press the power button.

”Palee!”

A sharp cry sounded next to its ear.

Its vision blurred, and it found Porygon II suddenly appeared and blocked the tip of its tail, seemingly preventing it from turning off the television.

Porygon II’s gaze was fixed on the shining static screen.

”Palee...”

A strange atmosphere filled the living room.

Aggron sensed that something was wrong, quickly turning its head toward the bedroom only to find that somehow darkness had enveloped its rear. Not only that, but no light from the street lamps seeped through the long-curtained windows outside the living room.

As silently as if it had exited reality, arriving in a strange place.

”Guh-ho!”

It didn’t panic but turned to look at Porygon II.

More concerned about the teammate inexplicably blocking it from turning off the television than itself, as the former seemed particularly focused on the television—the source of all the strangeness.

However.

Porygon II didn’t respond to it, just staring intently at the television set.

Until a figure abruptly appeared on the static screen.

This fellow bore a half-resemblance to Porygon II, only its lively eyes had become yellow ’targets’, exuding an eerie air amidst the stiffness, with ’legs’ morphing into ’hands’.

It felt like a rubber duck transforming into a duck-man hybrid.

Porygon Z!

Aggron recognized this fellow, its Trainer had once mentioned it and even showed pictures for identification.

Why would Porygon Z appear here?

Could it be... the something the Trainer mentioned called Zeroth Machine?

The first thing it thought of was this existence its Trainer had always worried about, thinking only this guy would seek them out and do such strange things.

Should it attack?

Would smashing the television prevent Porygon Z’s subsequent actions?

After contemplating for a moment, Aggron decided to remain inactive for the time being, as the opponent’s intent remains unknown, and more crucially, it hadn’t figured out what Porygon II wanted to do.

It observed quietly, seeing Porygon Z suddenly crawling out from the television set.

The other party stared tightly at Porygon II, emitting a series of strange low-frequency soundwaves like it was sending some kind of signal.

『灪麣驫饢籱癵爨!』

”Palee?”

『龞齽齼鼺黸麢?』

”Palee?”

Can’t you understand either? Even though you’re the same type of Pokémon...

Aggron understood entirely that Porygon II wasn’t communicating with Porygon Z at all.

And Porygon Z seemed also aware of this, ceasing the low-frequency soundwaves and switching to a special mind wave.

『Can you understand it now? You haven’t learned this language yet... Looks like you haven’t had much exposure to the No.1 Machine, or perhaps it deliberately didn’t teach you.』

This is...

Telepathy?

Aggron was momentarily stunned, after confirming multiple times, it realized that voice indeed resonated from within, and this phenomenon was something it had heard the Trainer talk about.

It’s a Special Ability known as Telepathy.

Only a few Pokémon can master it, mostly Legendary Pokémon, though some ordinary Pokémon can harness this power too.

But to be honest, it couldn’t quite wrap its head around this content,

Language?

That kind of low-frequency soundwave just now was actually a form of language?

This fellow didn’t even seem to pay it any heed.

Aggron quietly retreated; it clearly understood that under such circumstances, it couldn’t handle it alone—it must bring the Trainer in.

Finding a way to break this layer of space.

On the other side.

Porygon II and the Porygon Z Zeroth Machine began an exchange.

Mostly the latter speaking.

『Compared to Telepathy, I actually prefer directly transmitting data, which saves a lot of effort, but you probably wouldn’t accept that, right? After all, you must’ve been influenced by the No.1 Machine. It must have told you about me, the Zeroth Machine, writing suspicious patches and then blowing up the lab to escape.』

”Palee?”

”Guh-ho?”

Porygon II and Aggron were equally stunned, the matter of the Zeroth Machine had always been relayed to the Trainer by Dr. Akihabara and his assistant, and they only heard it secondhand from the Trainer—when did this become the No.1 Machine?

Even Porygon II had never had any contact with the No.1 Machine; encountering it in the lab during the daytime was the first time.

『That’s right—the No.1 Machine! Because... Dr. Akihabara and his assistant have had their memories altered and are being controlled by this guy!』

The Zeroth Machine uttered a remark that nearly overloaded the mental capacity of the two Pokémon.

『I won’t elaborate much more, those guys are still pursuing me, but you need to remember, the No.1 Machine, Dr. Akihabara, and his assistant are not to be trusted now! Don’t be deceived by them! These guys aim to expand the Porygon’s population and then... conquer humanity and the world!』

Leaving such a cryptic statement.

The Zeroth Machine disregarded Porygon II’s obstruction, returned into the television set, and disappeared.

The dark ’curtain’ that shrouded the living room receded, revealing the room’s original appearance, the television remaining in a standby black screen as if it had never been on.

Yet.

Both Aggron and Porygon II were acutely aware that what just happened wasn’t an illusion; they turned their heads to see the bedroom lights brightly lit, with the Trainer and other companions standing behind them.

”Are you okay?”

”Guh-ho!”

”Palee!”

”That’s good.” Baimu, upon receiving confirmation, breathed a sigh of relief and approached between the two of them gravely, ”A Secret Power used in the house turned into an Alternate Space... What just happened?”

It was Hydreigon, with its keenest senses, that first detected unknown energy fluctuations in the room; following that were Mawile and Blissey.

However, they didn’t rashly break through the ’black curtain’ blocking the bedroom doorway; they first woke the Trainer up to confirm the backup route—since the window was fine—before attempting to disrupt the thing.

Yet before they could act, the curtain dispersed on its own.

And through the perspective relay of Porygon II and Aggron, Baimu learned that the Zeroth Machine had just been here.

However, the rival’s aim was not to abduct Porygon II but to issue a warning.

”Dr. Akihabara had his memory altered and was exonerated this time...”

Baimu’s expression was somewhat complex.

What the Zeroth Machine said might not entirely be the truth, nor completely false, after all, Pokémon seeking to conquer the world already appeared in XY—like Malamar.

A group of malicious Malamar controlled Officer Jenny and attempted to create a system to reshape the world, ultimately flying off in the sky humiliated thanks to Ash Ketchum and their efforts.

Thus, it’s not surprising that a Pokémon like Porygon Z intends to control the world. In essence, it’s not much different from artificial intelligence, and themes of AI rebellion are abundantly seen in the previous life...

”Hiss! This feels a little terrifying!”

Baimu rubbed his arm, realizing he found himself involuntarily entangled in something very troublesome.
