Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 572: Chapter 417: Double-bladed Head Hammer (Part 2)

Friendly shop?

He stared blankly at the building with the blue roof in front of him. Through the floor-to-ceiling windows covered with various promotional posters, he could see shelves selling various Pokémon medicines, tools, and peripherals. As his gaze moved towards the counter, he saw a Meowth sitting on the table licking its paws.

Unlike normal Meowth, it was wearing a felt hat and boots like a human, which inexplicably gave it a bit of a dashing appearance.

And behind the cashier...

’Baimu!’

Tetsuya happily walked around the counter and out of the store, with Meowth quietly following, ”When I got your message this morning, I thought you wouldn’t come!”

”Meow?”

Meowth looked up at Baimu, its husky smoky voice paired with sharp eyes, seemingly displeased with everyone it looked at.

But at this moment it was thinking — is this the guy who took down its three companions?

Except for having a face that’s considered handsome among humans, he’s not that special!

Meowth’s eyes widened, feeling that Sceptile and the others must have relaxed too much without facing a truly strong opponent, which led to their defeat. It must find a way to regain its position.

Baimu noticed Meowth kept staring at him and smiled amicably at it, then apologized to Tetsuya, ”There was a little mishap over there. Sorry for the sudden change of plans, really bothering you.”

This morning, with the arrival of Dr. Akihabara and the Zeroth Machine issue, he originally thought to postpone matters with Tetsuya, but he didn’t expect Dr. Akihabara to leave abruptly.

”Not at all! I’m very glad you came!”

Tetsuya’s face was full of smiles, not showing even the slightest displeasure, but instead had a joy of a friend unexpectedly visiting, quickly waving, ”Come in! It’s dusty outside!”

Baimu walked into the store and was about to observe the interior when the rumbling sound suddenly rang in his ear.

Clattering—

He turned his head to see Tetsuya leading Meowth to pull down several shutter doors.

”Uh, is that necessary?”

”No worries, we don’t have much business anyway.” Tetsuya waved carelessly and laughed, ”Besides, if I leave, no one will watch the store. My sister hasn’t finished school yet, and my parents are on their honeymoon. Can’t let Pokémon watch the store, right?”

”...I think maybe it could.” Baimu glanced at his phone and stealthily pressed the screen with his thumb, where Porygon II was eager to give cash register work a try.

Porygon II cooperated by making a struggling motion.

’Pi-li~Pi-li~’

Tetsuya asked puzzledly, ”What did you just say?”

”Nothing much.”

Baimu responded casually and suddenly felt his hand being lightly tapped twice, turning his head to find a curious Meowth.

This guy seems to have detected Porygon II’s presence.

Seeing this, Tetsuya hurriedly pulled Meowth over, ”Don’t randomly touch other people’s phones! Ah, sorry, it’s not usually like this.”

”Meow.”

Meowth curled its mouth in disdain.

This guy... has it been pretending to be a lucky cat for too long, and its personality has changed?

Baimu recalled that during the battle with Ash Ketchum, Meowth was quite cold, often ignoring Rocket Team’s Meowth when it tried to talk to it, but now it’s quite lively.

Could it be that it has resolved the grudges with Persian?

Probably.

It’s been over three years, and Blissey resolved its knots in less than half a year.

Speaking of which, Tetsuya’s parents went traveling too... No wonder he stayed in Mauville City and didn’t challenge the next league, to avoid leaving his school-going sister unattended, right?

Baimu recalled the brothers he met in North Petalburg City, and the younger brother was truly uncared for, resulting in him turning troublesome, doing well-intended but harmful things.

Through the back door of the store and passing through Tetsuya’s house, a backyard encompassing a battle training ground came into view.

Tetsuya boasted proudly, hands on his hips, ”This is where I practice training Pokémon daily! Not bad, right?”

”Indeed, it’s okay.”

He looked around the surroundings, confirming that it was spacious enough here, where using moves wouldn’t likely smash into neighbors’ walls or windows.

Ordinary trainers in the city can’t frequently train their Pokémon, largely because of the venue issue. Even though there is plenty of space in the Pokémon World, it’s impossible to set too many battle fields within a densely populated city.

Therefore, progressive trainers either live in the outskirts with open views, without worrying about venue, or drill into parks day and night.

Tetsuya belonged to the former.

His place was where hardly anyone showed up nearby.

”I’m counting on you! Donphan!”

Tetsuya opened the Pokeball in his hand, and the short-legged elephant in heavy black armor landed.

”Thump!”

It looked around, showing an eager expression when it saw Baimu, ”Thump!”

A chance for redemption, perhaps!

Tetsuya quickly stopped the reckless elephant, ”Calm down! It’s not a battle! Baimu and his Pokémon are here to learn moves!”

”Thump?”

Donphan shook its black long ears, somewhat puzzled.

Learn moves?

What to learn—

”Guh roar...”

Aggron appeared beside Baimu, bowing slightly and catching the eyes of Meowth and Donphan, whose blue eyes seemed to emit a cold light, causing both to shiver inwardly and instinctively step back.

The coldness in the blue eyes soon dissipated.

Because Baimu spoke.

”Next, it’s going to teach you to master the Double-bladed Head Hammer! I’m counting on you, Donphan!”

”Guh roar!”

Aggron immediately put on a gentle expression and greeted Donphan and Meowth warmly.

”Meowth...”

Meowth’s fur almost stood on end, even the sharp claws extended from its furry paws, but seeing this attitude, it soon retracted its claws and responded indifferently.

Donphan was accepting Tetsuya’s explanation, hearing that the other party wanted to learn its ultimate move, Double-bladed Head Hammer, made its expression somewhat complex.

”Thump...Thump!”

It slightly raised its long trunk as a response, but still had a cautious look in its eyes when looking at Aggron, as its long nose had already caught the scent of ”danger.”

This guy is even fiercer than the Mega Steelix we battled yesterday!

However...

It’s not a battle.

The helpless Donphan turned into a tire and rolled forward with a rumble.

Aggron was startled by the movement, turned to the trainer, pointing at itself, ”Guh roar?”

Do I also need to become a ball?

”Uh, is Donphan’s Double-bladed Head Hammer unleashed in this curled-up form?” Baimu avoided the big monster’s gaze and looked at Tetsuya.

Tetsuya shook his head awkwardly, ”Not exactly... Donphan is thinking about how to teach Aggron; it can’t figure it out unless it turns into a tire.”

”Meowth!”

Meowth crossed its arms, nodding in agreement.

So it seems, thinking about how to teach, sounds responsible.

However...

”Let’s have Donphan directly demonstrate the move for Aggron to imitate and understand,” Baimu suggested to Tetsuya, pulling out the Imitation Vanilla: ”Normal learning methods won’t help in mastering the Double-bladed Head Hammer; this session relies mainly on this Imitation Vanilla.”

”That doesn’t matter...but will it really work?”

Tetsuya cast a skeptical glance at the colorful leaves.

”Trying it will make it clear.” He stuffed the Imitation Vanilla into Aggron’s mouth; Dr. Kukui’s paper described the effect generated by Pokémon eating the Imitation Vanilla.

In the game, it’s mostly used as an item, but it ultimately disappears.

As Donphan stopped spinning under Tetsuya’s guidance, it heard it didn’t need to think of how to teach, which was a relief. It wasn’t a clever type, definitely wouldn’t succeed in teaching someone a move.

”Thump!”

Donphan fiercely swung its long trunk with an astonishing momentum gathering, followed by its four legs striding forward, lowering its body to charge ahead. The bronze-yellow Rock Attribute Energy transformed into a shimmering halo enveloping its body, creating the appearance of a giant Energy Rock, charging forward like a massive Energy Bullet!

The airflow stirred up as it moved forward, constantly flapping Baimu and Tetsuya’s clothes, resoundingly!

The mere residual effects of its path have such power...

”Indeed, it’s the ultimate Rock Attribute move!”

Baimu nodded in satisfaction; even so, Donphan is a Ground Attribute, unable to showcase the utmost power of the Double-bladed Head Hammer.

Without a clear target, Donphan charged forward until it reached the end of the field, then stopped.

”Thump!”

It turned to Aggron with a look suggesting you give it a try, inwardly thinking if learning was as easy as this, there’d be ghosts.

Such moves aren’t quickly learned.

”Can it work?”

Baimu curiously turned to Aggron.

Aggron savored the odd juice left in its mouth, pondered for a few seconds, then nodded, ”Guh roar!”

Let me try!

Then.

It ventured into the field, its claws clenched under Donphan’s calm gaze.

”Guh roar!”

The air suddenly began to tremble!

The bright bronze-yellow light gradually lit up on Aggron’s body!

”Thump?”

Donphan was startled.
