Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 569: Chapter 416: Evolution Technology

Compared to before.

Porygon II’s size has actually shrunk by two circles, looking much more refined.

Yet, what’s more important than appearance is the inside; after evolution, it’s equipped with a more complete artificial intelligence.

Simply put, it’s about three aspects—

Learning, emotion, and thinking.

It certainly has taken a big step toward becoming a complete life form.

See? Even its gaze has become much sharper, the expression is remarkably human-like, no longer looking as foolish as before.

Much better than a certain Dragonair that becomes sillier with every evolution.

”Oh, oh! Virtual Pokémon Porygon II! Congratulations, congratulations!”

Tie Xuan and Walt applauded together.

The former rubbed the beard on his chin, a smile tucked at the corner of his mouth, ”Hahaha! Truly brings back memories! I remember discussing Porygon with Dr. Akihabara and he showed me the evolved form, Porygon II. At that time, I thought this guy was an outstanding Pokémon.”

”Hmm?”

”Pory?”

With these words, Baimu and the newly evolved Porygon II both looked towards him.

”Hahaha!”

Tie Xuan seemed to know their current thoughts and said with a laugh, ”In my view, Porygon II is undoubtedly a Pokémon comparable to Rotom, but as an Electric Attribute Gym Leader, I personally prefer Electric Attribute Pokémon.

”And right at that time, there were quite a few wild Rotoms causing havoc in household appliances. Instead of driving them away, I thought of capturing them to serve the citizens of Mauville City, compensating for the trouble caused.”

Personal preference plus... coincidence.

Rotom came to cause trouble right before Dr. Akihabara and Tie Xuan were about to collaborate, it’s hard to believe this wasn’t intentional.

Yet, the world is full of such dramatic moments.

There’s really no way around it.

Baimu turned to look at Porygon II, realizing that it and he both had expressions of sudden realization, as if a long-puzzling enigma had been solved— but that’s all.

No trace of complex emotions due to fate, it had an indifferent attitude.

Before evolution, it cared so much...

After its intelligence increased, its pursuits are now different from the past?

At this moment, Tie Xuan spoke: ”Since Porygon II has evolved, you should quickly head to the Pokémon Center for treatment. I still have to meet other challengers on appointment! Bye!”

The old man left in a hurry, his assistant Walt nodded slightly and then caught up with him.

It’s like a cutscene ending.

Baimu and Porygon II watched them leave, suddenly groaning.

”Hmm!”

”Pory?”

Porygon II lifted its head caringly.

”It’s fine, one big monster has reverted back.”

He rubbed his temple, took out his phone from his pocket, and hit stop on the timer.

From the start of Super Evolution to its automatic end in the Pokeball, the current limit time is— 34 minutes and 42 seconds.

Two weeks ago it couldn’t last a minute, and now, counting the time spent in the Pokeball, it can barely hold for over half an hour, Aggron’s growth is evident.

In reality, Baimu and it still have a shallow understanding and use of Super Evolution, with much power yet to be tapped.

Extending the Super Evolution time is just the first step.

”Pory!”

Porygon’s cry suddenly brought back his thoughts. He saw its head delve into his pocket, then transform into data and disappear.

”Hmm?”

Baimu reached into his pocket, discovering that the Evolutionary Wondrous Stone had vanished, while the illustrated guide on his phone auto-opened, flipping to the Pokémon status page.

As black technology jointly developed by many researchers including Dr. Nishino Moro in the animation, this guide not only checks Pokémon levels and moves but also roughly estimates each Pokémon’s ability values, presented as arrows on a hex dimensional graph.

Overall, Porygon II’s ability values have undoubtedly greatly improved, with Baimu remembering Porygon’s species value was under four hundred, and Porygon II clearly exceeding five hundred.

Species value itself is derived from reverse calculation of ability values; if allocated properly, this over hundred difference can turn a Pokémon from overlooked to popular.

In the learned moves section, ”Magic Reflection” and ”Awakened Power” have conspicuously been added.

The former possesses the ability to rebound some of the opponent’s transformation techniques targeting yourself, meaning when the opponent uses Ghost Fire on Porygon II, Porygon not only won’t get burned but will instead burn the opponent.

The latter’s no surprise, adjusting the attribute according to the Pokémon’s status—

A window popped up, a reminder from Porygon II.

”Ground Attribute Awakened Power...”

Baimu chuckled.

This fellow saw his thoughts dwelling on Aggron’s matters, ”firmly” diverting his focus, whilst bragging about its post-evolution strength.

Seems that honest, mild-mannered, unassuming ”fringe” Porygon is gone for good... this feeling of a household kid entering puberty is really familiar.

But it’s also evidence of synchronized emotional growth.

Mere strength without brains isn’t a good thing.

No wonder Dr. Akihabara’s assistant repeatedly recommended that trust level should be higher before evolving, the changes were indeed too obvious.

Speaking of which, those Porygon II sent by Dr. Akihabara to catch the Zeroth Machine all had six levels of heart?

Of course.

Baimu wouldn’t skimp on his praises either, he said in a low voice:
