Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 580: Chapter 421: Ghost? Ghost! (Part 2)

Furong smiled while stroking its flat head, ”Good boy, good boy.”

”This...”

The middle-aged man hesitated upon seeing this. Having a guest pass away in the hotel room would undoubtedly be a blemish for the hotel, as most people would be reluctant to stay in such rooms.

But now, the one making the request is Bonnie and Furong, two of the Four Heavenly Kings. Even if I refuse, these two will find a way to get Miss Jun Sha’s permission to try again, right?

”Alright.” The middle-aged man sighed, ”Please come with me to the VIP room to discuss in detail.”

Under the gaze of the receptionist, the three headed towards the hotel’s VIP room.

Yet she wasn’t sure if it was just a delusion in her trance.

Originally, three well-behaved individuals suddenly turned into four as they were about to round the corner. Before she could get a clear look at the extra figure, the manager had already left with the two Celestial Kings.

”Hiss!”

She rubbed her arms, inexplicably feeling a bit cold, and immediately found Rotom to adjust the air conditioning temperature.

The return of warmth allowed her to breathe a sigh of relief.

Half an hour later.

A black-haired young man walked in with an exceptionally cute Mawile.

”Hello, please help me book a room.”

The receptionist instinctively bowed and took the Trainer ID Card, saying, ”Alright, please wait a moment... Huh? Mr. Baimu?”

She raised her head, surprised to see Baimu. If she remembered correctly, he had just checked out in the morning, and she was the one who handled the procedures — even asking for a signed photo.

Why suddenly come back?

”Something happened.” Baimu smiled at her and asked, ”Does your Mauville Mountain Hotel have other branches?”

The receptionist shook her head while handling the process, ”As far as I know, there are no branches.”

”Then... Room 1608, do you have any impression of this?”

He leaned towards the counter and suddenly lowered his voice. The receptionist thought for a moment and shook her head again, ”1608... I’m not sure about that either...”

Baimu couldn’t help but feel a bit disappointed, ”Can you help me contact your manager?”

Since the receptionist wasn’t aware, he’d have to find the manager.

”Manager?”

Upon hearing this, the receptionist froze, involuntarily recalling Furong who came to inquire about something, as well as the strange situation earlier, and couldn’t help turning back to look towards the corner where the three had left. Suddenly, she saw a black-grey shadow standing there motionless.

Upon closer inspection, a pair of pitch-black and hollow, terrifying eyes met her gaze, accompanied by creepy sobbing sounds.

”Woo woo woo...”

Suddenly.

Goosebumps climbed all over her arms and back, her expression visibly turning frightful, and she couldn’t help but retreat a step, ”Eek—”

”Sweet Fragrance.”

A voice suddenly resonated beside her ear, and following that, her arm was firmly grasped, preventing her from collapsing with weak knees. Her nose was filled with a relaxing, faint fragrance.

”Chido~”

The receptionist turned her head, abruptly seeing Baimu standing there with an odd expression, the Mawile beside him opening the Massive Jaw behind its head to release a pink mist.

”When did a wild Ghost-type Pokémon break into your hotel?”

”Huh?”

”Oh, wild Pokémon, that’s not a real ghost. It’s a Pokémon creating shadows specifically to scare people and steal essence.”

Baimu explained.

The receptionist saw the terrifying shadow had vanished when she looked again, ”Po-Pokémon?”

”What else could it be?”

Recalling the expression on the opposite side just now, he asked, ”Did anything else happen?”

”Actually, yes!”

The receptionist unhesitatingly recounted the visit from Furong and her request all at once and gritted her teeth, saying, ”She must be the one who brought it in!”

Being startled like this would cause essence loss for an average person, leading to a momentary trance and worsened state, naturally affecting mood adversely.

Dissatisfaction is normal.

Baimu listened and showed a pensive look, afterward thanking her, ”Thanks, I’ll try to catch that Ghost-type Pokémon. You should take a rest and maybe switch shifts with a colleague.”

Having said that.

He eagerly headed in the direction Furong and the others had departed with Mawile.

Just while passing the corner, a small boy dressed in seemingly filthy clothes appeared in his vision, with a twisted ”smile” on the barely visible face, emitting a crying-like call.

”Boo wah!!”

”Oh oh!”

Baimu, seeing the eerie boy, became elated instead of scared, ”You bringing yourself over means you can’t escape! Shattering Bite!”

”Chido!”

The Mawile fearlessly dashed forward, twisting its body to unleash its massive jaw akin to a blood-red mouth and fiercely bit the ”boy” attempting to escape in astonishment.

The counterpart revealed its true form — hair waving like flames, entirely dark green like a big-headed rag doll, with red beads hanging around its neck, a Misdreavus.

”Mu-ma!”

The Misdreavus emitted a sharp cry resembling a child’s midnight wail, prompting a nearby door to open, revealing a drowsy and frustrated face.

”Hey! Don’t start battles in hotel corridors so early!”

”My apologies.”

Baimu apologized sincerely, giving Mawile a look.

The latter got the hint, its massive jaw releasing sweet, pink scent, making the bitten Misdreavus’s expression quickly numb.

Taking advantage of this opportunity.

He left with Mawile and proceeded to the lounge in the corridor middle, where large French windows opened to a wide balcony, revealing the central park of Li Mauville below.

After confirming, this Misdreavus was indeed a wild Pokémon as initially speculated, he regretted thinking it belonged to Furong based on the receptionist’s story.

”Don’t go around scaring people!”

Baimu let Mawile free the Misdreavus.

But obviously, the counterpart didn’t appreciate it much, flying some distance away before turning to stick out its tongue, ”Mu-ma!”

However, Misdreavus seemed startled by Mawile. Seeing it about to approach again, it swiftly turned and fled, not even glancing back.

”Chido!”

Mawile scoffed disdainfully.

It wasn’t afraid of the supernatural things, whether Ghost Attribute Pokémon or true ghosts, appearing before it wouldn’t change anything.

Thus, when its Trainer instructed it to strike the ”boy,” it didn’t hesitate a bit.

Baimu knew this and entrusted the attack confidently.

The two of them turned back towards the hotel to continue heading to the VIP room, hoping to overhear some conversation there.

Unfortunately, when they arrived at the place, the VIP room was already empty. Neither the manager nor Furong, Bonnie were anywhere in sight, likely heading to the room Furong sought.

Yet.

Why go to the room where the deceased stayed to find Dragapult’s companion?

Is there some mystery here?

Regarding the spirit medium...

Baimu didn’t know much about Furong, a Celestial King from the Hoenn Region. Based on previous life information and current online introductions, she unquestionably is also a superpower user.

However, her abilities are somewhat special. The main function is to communicate with Ghost Type Pokémon, or even true ghosts, which has a great deal to do with her living in God-sending Mountain, a place where deceased Pokémon souls rest since childhood.

Being able to converse with the deceased qualifies her as a spirit medium.

”The boundary between life and death...”

Baimu mused and recalled the Dragapult mentioned by the receptionist.

Dragapult is still two stages from Dragapult. The simulator certainly doesn’t target this guy, right?

Or is it the companion lost?

Could it be Dragapult?

As he continued forward, a voice suddenly resonated beside his ear.

”Hmm... this doesn’t seem to be the place.”

Baimu quickly looked up, coincidentally encountering Furong and others coming out of a room.

Unexpectedly, before he could speak, Furong suddenly exclaimed in surprise:

”Ah! Your soul is so special!”
