Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 574: Chapter 418: Special Traits (2)

”Imitation Vanilla...”

Tetsuya pondered deeply. As a trainer who absolutely doesn’t believe in such ”external forces,” he won’t criticize others’ methods unless they are utterly intolerable mistakes.

Baimu quietly took out his phone to search for more information on Imitation Vanilla and meanwhile used Porygon II to send an email to Dr. Kukui regarding the situation with Aggron.

However.

No matter how he searched, he could find no instance of a situation where Imitation Vanilla learns a move in one go.

Specificity...?

The term appeared in Baimu’s mind. As a synonym for miracles, occasionally Pokémon can perform actions that transcend common sense, something that frequently happens with Ash Ketchum’s Pokémon.

Whether it was the Swellow born under Hundred Thousand Volts, the Infernape that locked blood after triggering Blaze, or the multiple explosive outbreaks of Ash Ketchum’s Pikachu, all are synonymous with specificity.

It even includes itself as a member of the specificity group.

”happy~”

Nurse Blissey came over with a cart to say hello, carrying a health report and the Pokeball containing Aggron, indicating that Miss Joy was expecting him at the front desk.

”Alright.”

Baimu took the health report and Pokeball, and went to the front desk to hear Miss Joy’s explanation.

Tetsuya, sitting in his original position, swallowed nervously and watched him. As a trainer, he could well understand the worries about problems with a Pokémon, and thus empathized for a moment.

Before long.

Baimu returned from the front desk, his tense expression now much more relaxed, and he spoke softly:

”...a false alarm. It merely consumed a large amount of physical strength and attribute energy instantly, converting it into fatigue that suddenly broke out. Miss Joy suggests resting for two days.”

”That’s great!”

Tetsuya relaxed accordingly, picked up the cup in front of him and took a sip, ”But to consume a lot of physical strength and attribute energy instantly? Didn’t the Double-bladed Head Hammer get executed? And your Aggron should have Hard Head, right?”

”That’s indeed the case, perhaps it’s a side effect of Imitation Vanilla?”

He replied with a smile.

The improper method of learning Egg Moves through direct consumption wasn’t clearly explained in Dr. Kukui’s paper, which only described the function of Imitation Vanilla.

It didn’t teach others the correct usage of Imitation Vanilla.

He was too hasty and should have followed the information from the herbalist to check with the breeding house, being more cautious.

Fortunately, Aggron didn’t have any other issues.

This guy learning Double-bladed Head Hammer instantly should be due to the sudden appearance of specificity.

The Pokémon Center’s examinations are undoubtedly trustworthy; a major city like Mauville would certainly not encounter a lack of medical equipment, and various checks were thoroughly conducted.

If a more detailed report is desired, a review must be conducted at a large medical center.

A large medical center... Larus City seems to have one?

Although the sudden learning of Double-bladed Head Hammer by Aggron is most likely due to some specificity, for insurance, it should be checked when traveling there, and other Pokémon should be examined as well.

He thought to himself.

——

Back to Tetsuya’s backyard.

Baimu released Aggron.

”...”

The big monster landed, turned its head and showed an expression of reassurance to the trainer, ”Groar~”

Didn’t I already say I’m fine?

”If there were such a magic in the world that claiming oneself is fine would indeed make it so, hospitals would not even need to exist,” he gently stroked Aggron’s scarred head, ”Rest assured, now your throne is even more secure.”

”Groar~”

Aggron responded with a pleased growl.

The fact that it learned Double-bladed Head Hammer has been confirmed by the Pokémon Atlas. Before learning, it thought the move was just okay, useful only in necessary situations; after learning, it realized—

Wow, it’s truly powerful!

It’s undeniably the top-tier move in terms of Rock Attribute power!

Though Hundred Thousand Horsepower suppresses Electric Attribute Manectric as a Ground Attribute move, had it known this move in the earlier battle, it might have taken it down directly!

Aggron had this feeling.

At this time Baimu was thinking that with Double-bladed Head Hammer at hand, he could successfully set out for the next city.

Or return to Meteor Falls to Dragon Nest in search of the next Pokémon.

Both are feasible.

He then recalled Aggron into its ball.

”It’s still early before dinner time, want to have a battle?” Tetsuya asked eagerly from the side, ”Let some other Pokémon join in?”

”Meow!”

Meowth’s eyes sparkled with fighting spirit.

But Baimu replied, ”Hmm... as much as I’d like to agree, let’s skip it for now. I need to give my brain some rest, and besides, we have to leave tomorrow.”

The Zeroth Machine, Gym challenges, and learning moves, plus an unexpected incident, meant he barely rested last night. It was already quite an achievement to be holding on until now.

”I see...”

Tetsuya was somewhat disappointed but didn’t say much more. He pointed inside the house and said, ”Why don’t you come in and find a place to sit while I pour you some tea.”

Meanwhile, Meowth glared, its face written with the words of questioning.

Are you chickening out!?

”Huh? What’s wrong?”

Baimu noticed its gaze, puzzled by its stare, so he asked curiously and patted its hat, ”Nice hat, looks pretty cool.”

You’re patting an egg!

Meowth’s eyes widened even more. In the past, it might have swiped at him with a paw by now, but after scratching a few handsy customers and being reprimanded several times by Tetsuya’s sister over the past two years, it stopped doing such impulsive things.

But scratching this guy should be okay, right?

It should be okay, right?

Meowth watched Baimu’s back as he turned and walked into the house, extending its claw to give him a light scratch without breaking the skin.

Meowth stepped forward to do it, but just as it raised its claw, its vision suddenly blurred.

”Pah-lee!”

A blue and red toy duck slightly taller than it blocked its way.

”Meow!?”

Meowth was stunned, where did this fellow come from? A Pokeball? But it didn’t hear the opening sound.

Baimu, walking ahead, turned his head upon hearing the commotion and asked in confusion, ”Why did you come out? Ah! Substitute! I got so distracted I forgot...”

”Pah-lee~”

Porygon II turned its head to indicate it was okay, suggesting they could learn it tomorrow instead.

It could see the fatigue hidden on the Trainer’s face, and learning Substitute wasn’t something that had to be done today.

Baimu smiled and patted its head, ”Thank you for being so considerate.”

”Pah-lee~”

”Meow!”

What are you two doing so casually!

The impulsive Meowth, filled with anger, waved its claws and charged forward. If it can’t scratch people, scratching a Pokémon should be fine, right?

It swiped fiercely, only to see the toy duck’s eyes light up, its whole body enveloped in mysterious black mist, and Meowth’s claws passed right through its body.

”Meow?”

Meowth looked in disbelief at Porygon II, so close to it.

”Huh? Texture 2 changed again?”

Baimu was surprised watching Porygon II, which had turned into a ghostly purple apparition shrouded in black mist. In its Porygon form, Texture 2 only changed colors.

But this situation... seems to have altered even its bodily structure!

”Pah-lee!”

Porygon II looked at Meowth, full of fighting spirit, although its internal attribute energy hadn’t fully recovered, a match with this guy should be fine.

Meowth seemed to sense the contempt in the other’s gaze, its eyes suddenly became sharp, it was serious now—

”Meowth, stop! How many times have I told you! Don’t randomly attack others!”

A sharp voice came from the side.

The three of them simultaneously turned their gaze to see an unfamiliar girl with a backpack standing at a distance. Her appearance bore a five-point resemblance to Tetsuya, and she seemed not yet ten years old.

”Meow...”

Upon seeing this girl, Meowth immediately broke into a cold sweat.

Just as Tetsuya stepped out of the house, ”Why haven’t you come in... Ah! Yuuzi, are you already back from school? Welcome back! This is...”

”Lord Baimu!”

The girl named Yuuzi ran forward, her face filled with excitement that she could barely contain, looking at Baimu with eyes full of admiration and longing. She timidly said, ”My name is Yuuzi, I’m your loyal fan~”

”Uh.”

Baimu felt a bit of tingling on his scalp, and after exchanging a helpless look with Tetsuya, he said, ”Just call me Baimu... I’m friends with your brother, no need for such titles like ’Lord.’

”Okay! Brother Baimu Lord!”
