Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 570: Chapter 416: Evolutionary Technology_2

”Looking at it this way, you’re probably the one with the best overall resilience in the team.”

”Pory!”

The joyful sound of Porygon II suddenly came from the phone.

This was no joke.

Aggron, Steelix, and Blissey all belong to the type that has extreme durability—either extreme physical resistance or extreme special defense.

Corsola has good dual defense but is held back by its stamina, and Ghost-type Pokémon generally have low endurance.

Milotic is not inferior to Porygon II overall, but unfortunately, as a final evolution form, it cannot benefit from the Evolutionary Wondrous Stone to improve its dual defense, slightly falling short.

Similarly for Hydreigon as a Quasi-God.

Mawile...this one is the only team member that can’t take hits well, but it’s not a problem since its role is to focus on output.

I believe as long as Porygon II levels up, considering its self-rebirth ability, it will certainly become the Pokémon that lasts the longest on the field.

Looks as weak as a toy, but no matter how you hit it, it just won’t go down—

The opponent’s expression will be priceless by then.

”Let’s go to the Pokémon Center,” Baimu said to the Porygon II on his phone.

”Pory!”

Evolution doesn’t fully heal the accumulated injuries of a Pokémon, just like in the anime and games, and the attribute energy won’t be instantly replenished.

Soon they arrived at the Pokémon Center.

He handed Aggron and Porygon II to Miss Joy and found a spot to ponder.

Through this Gym Battle, it was clear that his team heavily relied on Porygon II creating space to gain the right to attack. Without space, it would be like Mega Aggron against Manectric.

Clearly suppressing the opponent throughout the match, but struggling to deliver a finishing blow.

No doubt, the reason is Mega Aggron’s lack of speed. If ten thousand horsepower could attack before Manectric could defend, it would certainly take it out successfully.

Of course, having enough output can similarly deliver a decisive blow, there’s no doubt about that.

Baimu was contemplating the team’s shortcomings; his team was currently maintaining an overall trend of medium to low speed, and if he recalled correctly, there wasn’t a single Pokémon with a speed stat over a hundred.

Creating space is one solution.

But creating space requires a very specific opportunity, and in reality, such opportunities are more prevalent in double battles than in one-on-one singles.

If possible, maybe capture a fast Pokémon next?

Baimu’s gaze fell on the reward clues from the simulator. He hadn’t used this thing for a long time, partly due to other team members not having matured, and partly due to uncertainty about its results.

Everyone has internal preferences.

If he encounters a Pokémon he doesn’t like, wouldn’t he have to reluctantly train it?

However, now that Porygon II has evolved, once the situation in Mauville City is resolved, he plans to return to the Dragon Nest and activate it, having a chance to train the ”Dragon’s Heart.”

With love for all Dragon-type Pokémon, wanting to understand their strong aspirations...

”Happy~”

Blissey called out while bringing back his Pokémon.

”Thank you.”

Baimu put away Aggron and released Porygon II. He needed to visit Dr. Nasu’s lab to confirm the purpose of the Zeroth Machine and whether it was captured.

Along the way, perhaps show Dr. Akihabara the transformed Porygon II. This inventor might have a special gift.

——

”Dr. Akihabara left?”

Baimu stared blankly at the assistant, Qiao.

Qiao nodded, ”Yeah, he said the Zeroth Machine went through the network space to Kaina City, had to hurry and chase it.”

”This...”

He and Porygon II exchanged glances, momentarily speechless.

Honestly, he was prepared for Dr. Akihabara to be in for the long haul, even ready for No.1 Machine and that group of Porygon II to be entirely turned against him.

Exactly now that Porygon II just evolved and emerged victorious from the Mauville Gym Leader, by then, he’d assemble a large group of Rotom and Porygon II turned by the Zeroth Machine to counterattack, ultimately turning the tide and capturing the Zeroth Machine—

The script was already written! Zeroth Machine, where are you!

You’re not even in the Mauville network space!

Baimu thought if he were Ash Ketchum, maybe this storyline would have really been triggered, but unfortunately, he wasn’t...

All thunder but little rain here.

Thinking back, last night the Zeroth Machine might have coincidentally encountered Porygon while searching for a target, mistaking it for Dr. Akihabara and sending an illusion to probe it.

After seeing it ran, thinking it went to gather allies, it hacked the surveillance cameras all the way to Li Mauville, but found that the Porygon was not searching for Dr. Akihabara, but a stranger Trainer.

And then it slipped away?

Baimu thought up a possibility in ten seconds, but whether it’s correct or not, nobody knows, he had to ask the Zeroth Machine.

”Thanks for the trouble...”

He nodded to Qiao, intending to leave with a slightly disappointed Porygon II.

While the latter didn’t expect the kind of dragon-protagonist scenario Baimu did, it did have hopes of receiving praise from Dr. Akihabara, its creator.

After all, evolving successfully after so much effort is like ”returning home with glory.”

”Ah! Wait a minute! I almost forgot! My apologies!” Qiao suddenly stopped them, turning around to grab a square hard drive from another room, ”Dr. Akihabara said to give this to you if you came.”

”Did the professor mention what’s inside?”

Baimu accepted the square hard drive, looking at its silver-gray appearance, softly asking.

Qiao shook his head, ”I’m not really sure...he didn’t mention it to me, just told me to give it to you.”

”Alright then.”

He nodded slightly in gratitude and turned to leave the lab with Porygon II.

Out the door.

Baimu spoke, ”Could this be the ’Suspicious Patch’ that allows you to evolve into Porygon Z? I remember Dr. Akihabara saying he revised the patch before, right? And he also used the No.1 Machine this time...”

Porygon II decisively shook its head, ”Pory!”

”Huh? Why?”

’Because with the professor’s personality, there’s no way he’d hand over such an important and dangerous item casually. He would definitely give it to you personally and explain all the key points.’

Porygon II slipped into the phone and spoke these words using the speaker. Back when it was Porygon, it usually communicated with Baimu through text—

In truth, this method isn’t difficult, just more complicated and cumbersome.

After evolving, Porygon II brought stronger computational abilities, as it described, comparable to a massive upgrade of a computer’s graphics card, CPU, etc., making previously troublesome tasks now easy.

Reading hard drive content is simpler, not even needing a computer.

Porygon II slipped out of the phone, a long groove appeared on its chest, just enough to fit the hard drive, ”Pory!”

”Whoa! You have such a port?”

Baimu was amazed, and then Porygon II changed its body surface to form USB ports, DP ports, a CD drive, and some slots he couldn’t even recognize.

It could even change its tail into various plugs to connect with machines.

Of course, for a Porygon II that can data-hack into computers or other special equipment, such plugs are only used in situations it can’t enter or in extreme conditions.

But it was still surprising; where in the games are there all these weird yet seemingly useful features?

”Pory!”

Porygon II puffed out its chest and called out.

The new functions brought by evolution were more than that, and it was slowly researching them.

After inserting the hard drive, Porygon II once again transformed into a triad of digital sound, electric, and light waves and flew back into the phone.

”The hard drive is now transformed into intangible data...”

Baimu fully couldn’t comprehend this principle of turning the concrete into virtual.

In the phone.

A pop-up window appeared.

”A Porygon exclusive version of the Pokémon move [Substitute], [Clone]? It allows the substitute to have the same consciousness as the original, capable of using moves, truly achieving a split into two... wow! Amazing!”

He read the text in the window and took a sharp intake of breath.
