Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 564: Chapter 414: Battle Machine_2

”Pa li!”

Porygon’s eyes lit up with a blue glow, releasing an invisible spiritual power toward Manectric with great precision. However, midway, it was disrupted by a green beam shot from the latter’s tail, causing a violent explosion.

Bang!

Smoke billowed.

In the animation, the writers set an energy attribute restraint relationship. The side being restrained would obviously be at a disadvantage when energies collided. Ash Ketchum once used this fact to have his Hawlucha shatter Magic Space with Cross Cut.

But clearly, such things are considered coincidental even in the animation, so Tie Xuan didn’t do the same.

”Again!”

Baimu continued to shout.

Porygon broke through the smoke with a swoosh, appearing in front of the panting Manectric. The sharp gaze it originally had now was replaced by the coldness of a battle machine.

”Quick, dodge!”

Amid Tie Xuan’s alarmed shout, a strong spiritual power surged forward from Porygon’s body like a tide. Manectric tried to evade, but its hind legs began to tremble violently.

Although electric currents stimulated its legs to alleviate muscle pain, this wasn’t a magic potion. Even electricity has its limits, and this setback led it to be captured by Porygon’s Strong Mental Will for the second time.

Manectric, restrained by an invisible force, floated, then was hit by continuous spiritual shocks from Porygon swirling around its body!

Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

Boom!

Ultimately, Manectric was once again thrown against the wall by spiritual power, the heavy thud between its body and the thick wall signaled it had reached its physical limits.

However.

Its four paws tried to stand despite constantly trembling.

”Fu... ugh...”

This guy...

Baimu couldn’t help but be moved, but he wouldn’t sit idly by and watch Manectric get up a third time. He shouted, ”Give it the final blow! Strong Mental Will!”

Against such a resilient Pokémon like Manectric, the only way to respect it is to go all out.

”Pa li!”

Fully in battle mode, Porygon approached Manectric, its eyes shining like light bulbs, while spiritual waves transformed into an invisible tidal wave overwhelming Manectric!

After three consecutive Strong Mental Will attacks, it even felt its own spiritual power significantly depleted.

Seeing this, Tie Xuan clenched his fist and shouted disregarding his image:

”Overheat!”

Overheat!?

Baimu was slightly startled and then his face changed greatly as he shouted, ”Porygon, hold on!”

In an instant.

Manectric’s body, head hung low, glowed with a shimmering red light, and flames erupted below it like a volcanic eruption, colliding with the incoming spiritual tidal wave!

”Fu wu!!”

Rumble rumble rumble—

The battlefield seemed to continually tremble, and the hearts of the three present trembled along with it.

But this wasn’t the end. A crimson heat flow suddenly erupted from Manectric’s body a second time, suppressing the invisible wave created by Strong Mental Will with its high temperature that distorted the air, and rapidly closing in on Porygon!

”Pa li!!”

Porygon emitted a sharp cry, mustering all its spiritual power to attempt a release.

Helplessly, the output of a single move has its limits, and no matter how much it pushed itself, it couldn’t resist this terrifying heat flow, so it directly detonated it using spiritual power!

Boom!!

In a deafening roar, flames rose!

Baimu raised his arm to shield his face with his sleeve, his hair fluttering in the hot air’s induced gale. He hadn’t expected Manectric to have such a move hidden.

Did it learn from Ash Ketchum’s Torkoal?

The power was almost on par with Yasha’s Slugma’s use of Overheat, maybe even slightly stronger.

No doubt about it, Tie Xuan’s current ace Pokémon.

”Porygon!”

He shouted, looking towards the field shrouded in dust, his ears perked to listen carefully, finally spotting Porygon at the corner of the field, half-covered in black and gray.

Though it looked quite pitiable, its eyes were very bright, and a white light emerged from its body, turning the black and gray back to its original magenta and cyan colors.

Baimu knew that Porygon was using Self-Rebirth.

The ventilation fans in the Gym were operating, quickly dispersing the dust. The fallen Manectric against the wall came into everyone’s view.

”Manectric is unable to battle, Porygon wins! The Hall Master has one Pokémon remaining!”

Assistant Walt immediately raised the green flag for the challenger’s side.

Tie Xuan looked at Manectric, then at the gradually recovering Porygon. As he withdrew the former with a Pokeball, he scratched his head, ”Thanks, Manectric. With such a strong opponent, there was no way, but you did great.”

Then he laughed heartily, ”Hahaha! Just missed the mark! I thought I could take down Porygon with Overheat! Impressive, truly impressive!”

”Mm-hmm...”

Baimu nodded in response, then looked back at Porygon, which had rolled its gears and returned to his side.

”Pa li!”

It emitted a forcibly subdued cry, as its battle module suppression eased, its emotional module reappeared, and its eyes were filled with excitement.

It won!

It defeated Manectric!

The first battle at the Gym did not betray the trainer’s expectations!

”Well done!” Baimu certainly didn’t hold back on praise, replaying the battle in his mind, and once again commended, ”You were really amazing, Porygon!”

”Pa li!”

Porygon beamed with joy; who doesn’t like being praised? Even it was no exception.

Baimu patted its head, but he recalled the sudden change in its demeanor during the battle.

As Dr. Akihabara’s first creation on the path of artificial Pokémon, Porygon was indeed equipped with an emotional system that could grow. However, when it really began to battle, other modules suitable for combat would temporarily suppress the ”unnecessary” emotional system within it.

The reason behind this was closely related to Dr. Akihabara’s utilitarianism when designing Porygon. Having witnessed many Pokémon resist trainer commands, he needed an individual that would faithfully follow trainers’ instructions, with no intention of defying them.

At that time, Dr. Akihabara may have understood machines well, but he likely didn’t understand Pokémon.

Only after Porygon’s creation did the doctor slowly realize the power of certain emotional abilities. He then created Porygon II on Porygon’s basis, making it progress towards a more realistic Pokémon.

However, he unfortunately didn’t change the setting that progressively suppressed the emotional module during battles in subsequent Porygons.

The purpose was to distinguish it from Porygon II.

But one has to admit.

This approach brought Baimu great benefits, significantly shortening the time for him to harmonize with Porygon. There was no need to worry that it would miss opportunities due to fear, hesitation, or anxiety, as it could accurately execute all recorded commands.

And by the time it reached the point where mind power needed to be exhibited, it had almost crossed the awkward initial phase and was ready to evolve into Porygon II to further increase its power.

It was a win-win situation!

During the recent battle, many combat modules were triggered in Porygon, enabling it to measure the best attack distance in advance, accurately predict the impact point of attacks, evade opponent attacks, and counterattack immediately.

More importantly, upon realizing it couldn’t withstand an opponent’s attack, it made the best judgment—

Detonate energy.

Avoid Overheat fully suppressing Strong Mental Will, which would result in most of its power pouring onto itself.

So, although Porygon seemed miserable earlier, in reality, it only suffered a lot of the move’s residual impact, which was fully recoverable using Self-Rebirth.

This also showed the boundless potential of such a Pokémon as Porygon.

At least in battles, as long as Dr. Akihabara’s quality control is good, it will certainly be more popular than the mischievous Ghost-type Pokémon, Rotom.

Just as he thought this.

Baimu looked up and saw Tie Xuan taking out the last Great Ball.

”Since my strongest Pokémon has been defeated by you, let me show you my hidden strength! Hahaha!”

The old man laughed loudly, throwing it, ”Go! Washing Rotom!”

Bang!

White light flickered.

An orange washing machine landed on the field, suddenly levitated, and emitted a sound that made Porygon shiver all over.

”Oh, hush!”

Ro—tom!!

”Pa li!!”

Porygon stared at the distant Washing Rotom, its heart burning with intense flames!
