Pokemon: My Trainer Simulator

Chapter 557: Chapter 411: Mega’s First Battle

The owner of the research facility visited.

Dr. Akihabara immediately stood up, hurriedly expressing his gratitude:

”Thank you so much for lending me the venue this time, and for helping me get the permission from Miss Jun Sha. I really don’t know how to thank you...”

Although he had already accomplished feats as the inventor of the Pokémon transfer system and Porygon, Dr. Akihabara was still relatively young in academia, having attended public lectures by Dr. Nasu at Yuhong University.

”No need to be so formal, Akihabara. The most urgent thing now is to find the lost Pokémon as soon as possible.”

The elderly Dr. Nasu waved his hand amicably and said to Baimu, ”But this assistant of yours is a bit unfamiliar. A new student of yours?”

”No, no, no, his name is Baimu, a Trainer I called in temporarily to help! He also discovered the Zeroth Machine!”

Dr. Akihabara quickly said, not even giving him a chance to introduce himself.

Baimu could only politely nod to Dr. Nasu, ”Hello.”

”Oh~ hello to you too.”

Dr. Nasu nodded slightly, then leaned forward to stare at the screen for a while.

Seeing that he couldn’t make anything out, the old man gave a couple of instructions to Rice Village, telling him to cooperate well with Dr. Akihabara’s actions, and then turned and left on his own accord.

As soon as he left, Dr. Akihabara visibly relaxed, like a student who had finally managed to placate a demanding teacher, ”Phew~ During the early days of Li Mauville’s construction, when Hall Master Tie Xuan said Pokémon were needed for intelligence, it was Dr. Nasu who made the connections for me. Unfortunately, the collaboration didn’t succeed in the end.”

He couldn’t help but feel a bit regretful.

If they had succeeded in getting Porygon settled in Li Mauville back then, it might have become famous by now, right?

Who would’ve thought a more suitable Rotom would appear?

”Alright! No more talking! Let’s continue, continue!” Dr. Akihabara regained his spirits. He was rather optimistic, likely due to being used to hitting walls many times.

Baimu offered him a moment of silent condolence.

Meanwhile, the Porygon capture team had set off some time ago.

But so far, they hadn’t found any trace of the Zeroth Machine, making Baimu suspect whether Porygon had startled it last night, causing the Zeroth Machine to leave Mauville City’s network space overnight.

Or perhaps the Zeroth Machine never existed to begin with—

”Found it! The traces of where this guy has been!”

Dr. Akihabara’s shout caught his attention, as he pointed to a string of code on another screen, ”See? The requester of the access records is unknown!

”Even though this guy hid its records of breaching other firewalls, there’s always a taller mountain! On my computer, everything will be exposed! Hahaha! Caught you, didn’t I? Hahaha!”

Why does he laugh like a villain...

Baimu couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth, unable to understand the code, he opted to directly ask, ”So can you determine its location through the records?”

”—Not yet!”

Dr. Akihabara’s laughter subsided slightly, seriously shaking his head, ”Because this record was from past midnight, over eleven hours ago.”

Last night... past midnight!?

Baimu was taken aback, then his expression quickly changed as he leaned in to ask the doctor, ”May I ask, where did it access? The check-in system of the Mauville Mountain Hotel?”

”Let me see... Mauville No.3 Apartment? Why did it access there?”

Dr. Akihabara scratched his head, puzzled.

On the other side, Baimu had already started to search his phone map, deeply furrowing his brow after comparing the locations.

Mauville No.3 Apartment was located opposite Li Mauville. It was indeed the exit Porygon chose after encountering Phantom Porygon last night and becoming alert.

”Doctor! Help me check if it accessed the surveillance of this street!”

He quickly approached and showed the map to Dr. Akihabara, who, despite not understanding much, still helped him check.

It turned out that the Zeroth Machine not only accessed the surveillance of this street but also all the surveillance around Mauville No.3 Apartment.

”What about the surveillance in Li Mauville?”

”Li Mauville... huh! It accessed that too! It managed to avoid being detected by those Rotoms? As expected of the Zeroth Machine I created! It’s really strong!”

Dr. Akihabara was full of pride, and somewhat curiously said, ”By the way, what is it looking for?”

Baimu silently looked into the doctor’s eyes, softly responding, ”If I haven’t guessed wrong, it’s looking for Porygon.”

”Porygon? Are you referring to the one I gave you? Uh, Baimu, your expression is a bit scary.” Dr. Akihabara glanced aside weakly and said.

It was the first time he saw this young man, usually humble and polite, reveal such a terrifying expression, so much so that he didn’t even dare to meet his gaze.

”Uh, sorry.”

Baimu relaxed his eyebrows slightly.

He always took the safety of himself and his Pokémon seriously, but unable to determine the Zeroth Machine’s intentions, he could only rely on Dr. Akihabara to catch it as soon as possible.

Even if they couldn’t catch it, they had to confirm it posed no threat to them.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t dare to use the internet at will in the future.

However.

Baimu glanced at the mechanical clock beside him, then said, ”Dr., I have a Gym Challenge scheduled in the afternoon, so...”

Other than making tea and bringing water, there was nothing needed from him on site, so as half a computer illiterate in the Pokémon World, standing here was waiting for news just like challenging the Gym would be waiting for news.

Dr. Akihabara understood this clearly and nodded tolerantly, ”Oh oh! Go ahead then! Good luck!”

”Then I’ll take my leave now.”

Baimu greeted Rice Village beside him and turned to leave.
