Caught in Affairs with Superstar

Chapter 1348: Chapter 706: I Have an Idea_2

Everyone knows the more complicated, profound, and challenging a role is, the easier Zhou Yun handles it.

In this regard, Zhou Yun’s strength is universally acknowledged as excellent.

But at some point, Zhou Yun suddenly lost the ability to portray roles from the current era that aren’t so deeply tormented.

Looking back now, signs of this were already apparent starting from the drama ”Dingfengbo.”

In that drama, even Xu Siyao could steal her thunder.

At that time, everyone analyzed that Xu Siyao benefited from the persona of the character she portrayed, but they overlooked the possibility that maybe audiences just didn’t like seeing Zhou Yun play less complex roles.

Just like in the drama ”Under the Grand Dress,” the fashionable female editor played by Zhou Yun is beautiful, stylish, and capable, succeeding both professionally and personally, seeming so powerful, yet for some reason, it didn’t win much audience appreciation.

The drama was still a hit.

This drama garnered a lot of attention and discussion from female audiences.

The focus of the discussions was the workplace ecosystem in the editorial office and Zhou Jianfeng, the handsome workplace elite.

The former resonated with a lot of office workers, and the latter garnered women’s admiration for quality men.

Zhou Jianfeng and Cheng Shenlv became overnight sensations, and the fame of other supporting actors also surged.

Only Zhou Yun, as the leading actress, had no critique of her acting skills, but many people criticized only one point: she was great, and the character was great, but they were not a good fit.

Zhou Lan didn’t anticipate encountering this situation.

To be honest, Zhou Lan prepared many public relations plans, but never anticipated this kind of situation.

No one scolded Zhou Yun, everyone praised her beauty, praised her for acting earnestly, yet there was a voice constantly emphasizing, Zhou Yun is not suitable for this drama, this kind of drama should be given to actresses like Su Yan or Lew Qingqing who have a strong modern and realistic feel.

This wasn’t done by internet trolls; it was a thought from deep within many people’s hearts.

Zhou Lan was caught off guard by such opinions and didn’t know how to handle the public relations for a while.

It was Zheng Xiaojue who, during a phone call, enlightened Zhou Lan with one sentence: ”Although some people say Sister Xiao Yun is not suitable, there are also many people who particularly liked the role played by Sister Xiao Yun. Sister Xiao Yun is beautiful and acts well, so what if the role is simple? Why can’t an actress who is already seen as a queen in everyone’s mind play a princess? Besides, regardless, this drama is now a hit, and as the lead actress, Sister Xiao Yun’s contributions are undeniable. Can Su Yan or Lew Qingqing make the drama this popular if they acted in it?”

Zhou Lan immediately knew which direction to steer the public relations.

Two hours later, Zhou Lan didn’t use any advanced public relations techniques, just bought a bunch of marketing accounts, and only said one thing: praised the viewership ratings of ”Under the Grand Dress” to the skies, as well as Zhou Yun’s glorious record of never failing in the TV series domain.

After this, if anyone brought up why the reputation of Zhou Yun’s drama was affected in front of Zhou Lan, she would smile and respond: ”Was the reputation affected? No, it wasn’t. Well, there are always some haters online, but what I saw were praises about Xiao Yun’s superb acting and dedication. Besides, the drama’s performance is so good, the investors even said they want to invite Xiao Yun to be in the second part, and I said Xiao Yun has never acted in a sequel, hahaha.”

Zhou Lan laughed so heartily as if she hadn’t been affected at all.

This attitude was conveying a signal to the industry.

Trying to use some negative comments from this drama to tarnish Zhou Yun’s unblemished legend? Keep dreaming!

Zhou Lan felt quite bitter seeing Zhou Jianfeng become an overnight sensation because of this drama.

Because if she had signed Huang Zicheng and Lu Zhongting earlier, this role surely wouldn’t have gone to Zhou Jianfeng.

Zhou Jianfeng really stumbled upon luck.

But there was no way around it at that time; Yu Zhiyang couldn’t act, and Zhou Lan didn’t have any other male actors under her.

Zhou Lan thought, if ”Under the Grand Dress” really plans to make a second part, Zhou Jianfeng can play the male lead but they must add another male lead in the script.

Zheng Xiaowen has been lobbying Zhou Lan these past few days, trying to convince them to create a second part or second season of ”Under the Grand Dress.”

This drama has brought visible benefits to VX.
